Who can Apply

Who can apply for Basic Registration Candidates who have passed / appearing / appeared in 12th class examination (in 10+2 scheme) or its equivalent with the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and desirous of applying for MBBS course of AIIMS.
Who are eligible for the MBBS course in 2021: Those who secure an aggregate of 60% marks (50% for SC/ST, 45% for OPH) in English, Physics, Chemistry & Biology in the 12th class examination (in 10+2 scheme) and fulfil other eligibility criteria.

Note: Candidates, those with CGPA grades, can apply with the version factor in the application. It should be approved by their respective examination board.

Age Criteria

It is also important for the candidates to appear in this examination as per the age limit and the age criteria mentioned below.

  • The candidate applying for AIIMS must have completed 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2021
  • No candidate should be born on or after January 2, 2003, will be eligible to apply for AIIMS 2021.


  • Applying students should be the citizens of India (OCI) registered under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955
  • Candidates will be eligible to appear for the AIIMS MBBS entrance exam.
  • The candidates should have to submit the proof of registration as OCI under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955.  

Education Qualification

  • Candidate should pass the 12th/Higher Secondary Education (HSC)/Senior School Certificate Education (CBSE)/Intermediate Science (I.Sc) or equivalent examination from a recognized board/university of any state.
  • Applicants must be passed in the qualifying examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects.
  • The minimum aggregate marks (English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) obtained in the qualifying exam to appear in the examination will be 60% marks for OBC & General category and 50% for SC/ST/PH candidates.
  • Those applicants are appearing in their 10+2 examination with the above-stated subjects can also apply.

Overseas Citizen of India (OCI): Common to AIIMS, New Delhi, and six other AIIMS

  • OCI candidates who registered themselves under section 7A of the Citizenship Act 1955 are eligible for this test.
  • OCI candidates must show proof of registration as OCI under the above-given section.
  • For the Indian nationals on the prospectus, they should have to fill all satisfaction.

Foreign Nationals (Applicable to AIIMS, New Delhi only)

  • Those who belong to foreign nationals and nominated by the Government of India are eligible to apply.
  • They have to score a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
  • Foreign candidates who will be nominated by the Government are not required to appear in the Competitive Entrance Examination.
