AILET 2018 Spot Counselling is organizing on 20th June 2018.AILET is an abbreviation for All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) and National Law University Delhi (NLU-D) conducts AILET. It is organized for admission in five-year integrated undergraduate law courses and two-year postgraduate law courses in the state law colleges which are affiliated with this. There are total 83 law seats in law schools of India provides for BA LLB program and for LLM it provides 50 seats.

The admission to law colleges of India can be taken by qualifying AILET. There are various law colleges in the state offering various LLB seats for the undergraduates and LLM seats for postgraduates of AILET. The entrance exam that is AILET will be conducted in offline mode. The Instructions, Rules, and regulations are decided by the National Law University Delhi (NLU-D)  and in compliance with all the rules and regulations of AILET authorities and the relevant Government orders in place.

There are certain criteria that the candidate needs to satisfy even after passing the examination AILET. These are Eligibility Criteria and set as per the rules of government in AILET and is the way to admission in LLB courses of the affiliated colleges.

AILET Admission conducts entrance based admission to LLB and LLM courses. The admissions to postgraduate law colleges was taken on the basis of AILET earlier. AILET 2018 Admission Letter (1st List) is releasing on 24th May 2018.

AILET  2018 Result

The AILET 2018 result will be published on 24th May 2018 for BA. LL.B. and for LL.M. & Ph.D, it will be released in the 2nd July 2018 & 16th July 2018 respectively. The result will consist of the merit list on the basis of marks of the candidates.

The candidates will be called on the basis of merit list for the counseling. TheAILET authority releases result for different courses provided by the university. The Result of AILET has been announced by Pearson VUE. The test scores and result of AILET India 2017 will be reported on a percentile basis.

AILET 2018 Counselling 

The counseling for admission to various seats will be started from 24th May 2018. The applicants scored marks, which are above the cutoff, are eligible for the admission procedure in the AILET and after that counseling procedure starts. The list will be released for the candidates who get selected for the admission procedure. The counseling for various courses will be held in the second week of May 2018. The counseling will be conducted via offline mode. The counseling for AILET is conducted by National Law University Delhi (NLU-D) for Indian law schools.

 All the candidates will be assigned a center for the counseling process and candidates have to report to their respective center and on the given date by the authorities of AILET. Candidates will also have to present a list of official documents for verification and xerox copies of the same for submission. Candidates should ensure they submit only the correct information at the time of AILET Counselling process as it will be used for their seat verification.

The counseling is done on the basis of rank provided to the candidate. The counseling will be on the basis of the candidate’s rank. When the candidates are called for the counseling procedure the candidates have to take original documents with them. The documents will go through the verification process by the authorities. There will be numerous seats available for the LLB counseling to be filled by the candidates by clearing AILET entrance examination.

AILET Admit Card

NOTE: The AILET 2018 Admit Card will be declared by the university on 21st April 2018. All the applicants should note that above-provided dates are tentative and all the applicants are requested to check the dates on the official website of the AILET. Since all the dates are updated by the AILET authorities and in case the update is not reflected on the website we request applicants to check the official website of AILET.

The admit card for AILET is provided online to the candidates appearing for the AILET. The admit card is accessed by the candidates on the AILET portal. The admit card for UG as well as PG was issued via online mode from the third week of May 2018. The admit card for AILET is issued by National Law University Delhi (NLU-D) .

The candidates can download the admit card from the official website of the AILET. The admit card will not be sent via post to any of the appearing candidates. The admit card of AILET will contain following details like candidates name, date of birth, photo, signature, exam center and roll number. This information of the candidate will be based on the applicant’s AILET application form. In case any candidate finds any mistake in their AILET India admit card 2018 details including their names and date of birth, they need to bring it to the notice of exam officials, immediately and get it verified or corrected by the authorities of AILET.

Steps to download or get admit card for AILET

  4. Click on ‘Download’ and save admit card of AILET2018
  5. Candidates need to get a print copy of AILET admit card 2018

The candidates are advised to take print out of the admit card and take this admit card with themselves on the exam center. None of the candidates are allowed to enter the examination hall without admit card. AILET Application forms

The exam will be held on 6th May 2018 (3:00 PM to 4:30 PM).AILET application form is available in online mode. The University appoints authorities to conduct the centralized online counseling for the academic session of AILET 2018-19. All the applicants are required to fill the form in order to appear for AILET courses. AILET exam or application form is released by theNatinoal Law University Delhi (NLU-D). Once the candidate has registered for the law school admission test, a confirmation mail will be sent to his/her registered mail account.

  • Candidates have to register themselves first.
  • AILET 2018 application form can be filled through online mode.
  • Registration has been started from 4th January 2018.
  • Fill all the details in user registration form.
  • Candidates are informed to fill valid e-mail ID and mobile number.
  • Scanned photograph (Not more than 150 KB) will be uploaded in .jpg,.gif or .bmp format.
  • At last, submit and save all the details.

The candidates filling the application form should make sure that they are filling the correct information otherwise they will not be allowed to sit for the examination. There are certain documents that are required during AILET application form filling. This application form filling includes documents such as scanned copies of their signature and passport size photograph.

The application form of AILET will demand information like gender, mobile number, parents’ names, gender, mobile number, community, category,  and caste details as well as the choice of exam center and the digital versions of candidate’s photograph and signature.



After the successful tests and verification, the candidate can appear for the admission in the AILET. It is important for the candidate to be present physically for the counseling and if the candidates fail to be present on the day of the counseling than the candidate’s seat will be canceled. Nowadays as provided by the online option the candidate can choose and fill their preferences of colleges and courses online in the official website of AILET.

The seats are allotted purely on the basis of marks secured in the entrance exam and merit list prepared on that marks. The AILET counseling will be done in offline mode only.

AILET 2018 Application fees

Once the candidate is done with filling the form online the next step is to pay the application fees.  To complete their AILET Counselling registration, candidates need to sign the counseling register and pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 3000  Different categories have fees for the application form of AILET. The payment can be done through net banking and various other options: Debit Card/ Demand Draft/ Bankers Cheque/ Pay Order. The payment mode is only online and Online payment can be done through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card. The fees is non-refundable.

Note: Old Question Papers of Entrance Test of B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) Programme from the year 2010 to 2017 are available on the counter at NLU, Delhi for sale on payment of Rs. 500 by Credit /Debit Cards or through post by sending a Demand Draft of Rs. 550 in favor of Registrar, National Law University Delhi payable at New Delhi. AILET 2018  Eligibility Criteria

There is certain rules or conditions set by the official authority of the AILET authorities which an applicant needs to satisfy to appear for the AILET. The applicants can look for all the eligibility criteria one needs to satisfy and should contain all the documents proving that applicants satisfying those criteria.

Here are some of the criteria which an applicant should satisfy:

AILET 2017 academic qualifications for BA LLB programme


Candidates who have at least qualified Senior Secondary School Examination (of 10+2 education system) or equivalent examination can apply for BA LLB programmes in NLU Delhi.

The applicant should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of subjects at the 10+2 qualifying examination.


AILET 2018 academic qualifications for LLM programme


Candidates who have at least an LL.B degree or equivalent law degree from an institution recognized by BCI and the UGC can apply for LLM programmes at NLU Delhi.

The applicant should have obtained at least 55% marks in the qualifying LL.B degree examination.

Those who belong to SC/ ST/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories need to have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the LL.B degree examination.

Other Eligibility Criteria

  1. Those who are appearing for 10+2 examination will also be considered eligible for the NLU Delhi BA LLB applications, subjected to the fulfilment of minimum percentage as mentioned above.
  2. The applicants who are appearing in the final year of LL.B or equivalent law degree examination can be deemed fit for applying for LL.M programmes, provided they secure minimum percentage of marks as mentioned.

Age required for AILET 2018

According to Supreme Court’s order of March 3, 2018, any law aspirant can fill the AILET application form at par revised AILET 2018 eligibility criteria. There is no age bar for AILET applications 2018 as the apex court stays BCI’s age policy for this year.

Ealier, Bar Council of India (BCI) had revised age bar policy, according to which, candidates needed to be below 20 years of age as on July 1, 2018 and those who belong to SC/ST categories need to be below 22 years of age as on the same date.

The reservation for the candidates who are from different categories has different rules set by AILET. The rules and regulations are defined by the AILET. All the candidates must strictly follow the rules defined by theAILET for UG or PG courses.

Candidates will be required to produce the following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of admission.

  • Self-Attested copy of Marks Statement of 10th and 12th board examinations
  • Self-Attested copy of Character Certificate from the School last attended
  • Self-Attested copy of Transfer Certificate
  • Demand Draft of Rs. 50,000 drawn in favour of ‘The Registrar, National Law University Delhi’, payable at New Delhi

AILET Exam Pattern

 Different academic courses have different exam pattern offered by the Institute. The exam AILET conducted by National Law university (NLU-D) will announce the exam pattern for India differently. The undergraduate entrance exam will be based on OMR examination. The exam will be offline that is it will be a pen paper based examination. The duration for the examination of AILET will be for 90 minutes. There will be the total of 150 questions which will be multiple choice questions (objective based). The LSAT Examination will be standard for the entrance examination. The candidate will be awarded 1 marks for the correct answer and there will be NO negative marking. For each section, there will be 35 minutes allocated to solve them.
  • Language: The exam was conducted in English medium.
  • No. of Questions: The question paper contained 150 multiple choice questions.
  • Mode of Exam: The exam was organized through online mode that is it will be the computer based exam.
  • Marking Scheme: 1 marks will be awarded for each correct response.
  • Negative Marking: There is NO negative marking for the given incorrect response negative in this exam.

  • General Awareness and Current Affairs – To prepare for this section, the candidates are required to be familiar with the latest happening in the national and international levels. Also, they are required to have a good grip over general knowledge. In the general awareness section, the candidates can go through the static topics. For this section, the candidates are advised to go through books on General Knowledge and Current Affairs. The candidates can also read the newspaper and news magazines to brush up with the current affairs.
  • Common Legal Knowledge – The questions in this section will be based on the various topics of law. For this section, the candidates are required go through the basic law topics and sub-topics. The questions in this section will have passages on legal propositions and sets of facts.
  • Aptitude & Mental Ability – This section will comprise of questions on basic Mathematics and the candidates are also required to be comfortable with mental Math. The candidate’s ability to solve Mathematical problems within a limited time period. Regular practice of solving Mathematical problems will help the candidates to prepare for this section.
