Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) will be conducted under the dominance of BITS which is Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani for various programs provided by BITS and many other related institutes.

There is no exaggeration that this university level entrance exam is the gateway for admission into the line of engineering, pharmacy, and science. After getting through this exam, applicants will be able to pursue BE, B.Pharma, and M.Sc Programs. This is a university-level entrance exam held every year to offer admissions to various Integrated First Degree Programmes.

BITSAT 2020 Application Form

The applicants will be eligible for filling the form online. The application form is generated for each student applying for the exam.

  • BITSAT 2020 Application Form has been released on the 11th of January 2020.
  • Candidates can be filled the Application Form till 11th May 2020.
  • To access the way, visit the website and enter all required personal and academic details- the name of the aspirant, date of birth, contact no, gender, category, qualification, etc.
  • Affix the scanned image of photograph, signature, and thumb impression with the right hand. Make sure to attach each of the credentials in a specified way
  • Then submit all details once and for all after verifying all particulars.
  • The application form will be available on the screen after the submission of each data.
  • Proceed further to make the payment, and there are various modes for that
  • Once the submission of the application fee, it can’t be taken back.
  • So it is requested to carefully decide on the courses you want to apply for while filling your choices in the application form.
  • Those paying the fee in cash will have to produce the pay-in-slip.
  • Students can complete the online application form.

Only one application form will be accepted by each candidate. Download scanned images of the photo and signature in JPG / JPEG format.

The size of the photo must be between 4 KB and 50 KB, and the size of the signature must be between 1 KB and 30 KB. Applicants must also submit three preferences for the exam centers. It is not necessary to send the printed application form to the university.

Application Fee:

The application fee of BITSAT 2020 for various categories is given below:

  • The application fee is Rs.2950/- for Indian Exam Centers but this applies to male aspirants, and female aspirants will have to submit Rs.2450/-
  • The application fee for Dubai Exam Center is Rs.4500/-

Mode of Payment: Application Fee can be paid by the applicants via credit/debit card or net banking.


The BITSAT 2021 Examination is managed through Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani and this examination is managed to offer admission to the applicants in Integrated First-degree programs including BE, Pharma, and MSc programs at BITS Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad campuses. The BITSAT 2021 Application Form will be available from 1st week of December till the last week of March 2021.

BITSAT 2020 Eligibility Criteria 

Before applying for the exam, they need to meet the Eligibility criteria for admission. Those satisfying the requirements will proceed with further admission rounds.

  • Qualifying Exam– Aspirants must be qualifying 12th in the academic year 2019 from some reputed board or college.
  • Subjects– Aspirants should qualify the exam with the questions PCM for B.Pharma with English. The aspirants who have PCM subjects will be considered for the exam.
  • Minimum Marks– In the 12th exam, they will need to obtain 75% in PCM/PCB and must also receive 60% per subject.
  • Appearing Aspirants– The aspirants who are still completing the 12th in 2020 will be considered for the exam.

Those who have passed their 12th in many attempts will also be considered for the exam. Aspirants who are currently qualifying from BITS and any of the participating campuses will not be considered for the exam.

For First degree program except for B.Pharm

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidate must have passed their 10+2 level or its equivalent exam from any recognized board/University.
  • Qualifying Subjects: Applying candidates must have passed their 10+2 level exams with the main subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Maths. Also, he/she must possess adequate proficiency in English.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have scored an aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects. In each of the subjects, he/she must have secured 60% marks.
  • Appearing: Candidates appearing in the 12th level exams are also eligible to apply.

For Admission into B.Pharm

  • Qualifying Exam: Applying candidate must have passed their 12th level exams or its equivalent exam from any recognized board/University.
  • Qualifying Subjects: He/she must have passed their 12th level exams with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics as the main subjects. Also, he/she must have adequate proficiency in English.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have scored an aggregate of 75% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics subjects. In each of the subjects, he/she must have secured 60% marks.

BITSAT 2020 Exam Pattern 

The exam will be continuing for three hours.

  • The exam will be conducted by Computer Based Online Mode.
  • There will only be objective questions in the exam.
  • The exam will be consisting of four sections- physics, chemistry, English, logical reasoning, and mathematics or biology
  • For each correct answer, you will be given three marks, and for an incorrect answer, there is no deduction for any marks.
  • Number and Type of Questions: A Total of 150 multiple choice questions will be there in the paper.
  • Language Medium: The question paper will be available in the English language.
  • Time Duration: The time duration of the exam will be of 3 hours.
  • Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, three marks will be awarded. One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

BITSAT 2020 Syllabus

The syllabus will consist of different topics such as physics, chemistry, English, logical reasoning, and mathematics/biology. The syllabus will be mainly orientated towards NCERT.


Units and measures, laws of Newton’s movement, work, and energy, kinematics, impulse and movement, rotary motion, mechanics of solids and fluids, gravitation, waves, oscillations, electrostatics, heat, and thermodynamics, etc.


States of matter, chemical bonds and molecular structure, atomic structure, physical and chemical equilibrium, thermodynamics, chemical kinetics, electrochemistry, hydrogen and s-block elements, surface chemistry, etc.

English Proficiency & Logical Reasoning:

Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary, Composition, Verbal Reasoning, Nonverbal Reasoning, Detecting  Missing  Links, Following Directions, Classifying Words, etc.


Algebra, Two-dimensional coordinate geometry, differential calculus, trigonometry, three-dimensional coordinate geometry, integral calculus, probability, ordinary differential equations, statistics, vectors, mathematical the modeling, and linear programming.


Diversity in the living world, genetics, and evolution, cell: the unity of life; Structure and Function, Structure and Function – Animal and plant, reproduction, growth, and movement in plants, ecology and environment, reproduction and development in humans, biotechnology and its applications, biology, and human welfare.

Logical Reasoning:

Verbal reasoning – Classification, Analogy, Logical Deduction – Reading Passage, Chart Logic ETC. Nonverbal reasoning – Pattern Perception, Figure Matrix, Paper Cutting, Rule Detection, etc.

How to Prepare for BITSAT

  • Before starting to prepare for the exam, gather all the details about the official program.
  • Set an appropriate schedule and prepare accordingly.
  • Take the help of the NCERT books and questionnaires from the previous year.
  • Familiarize yourself with the pattern of the examination.
  • Do not take the stress and prepare calmly for your exams.

BITSAT 2020 Slot Booking

After the completion of the application process, BITSAT 2020 Slot booking process has been Started on 9th September 2020.

To book exam slots, a direct online link will be provided on the website. Candidates will be able to choose the test date and time between the provided timing and dates. Students have to enter their application number, date of birth, gender, email id, and other required details to book exam slots.

BITSAT 2020 Admit Card

The Admit Card has been available from 13th September 2020. The aspirants will require downloading the BITSAT 2020 from the online way. But before they start to download the admit card, it will need to be booked the slot for the BITSAT 2020. The aspirants will not be allowed to take the exam in the absence of the admit card. The examiner will be asked to present during the review.

The BITSAT 2020 Admit Card will comprise the important details which have to be brought to the exam center for the definite period.

BITSAT 2020 Result 

The Result for BITSAT 2020 has been made accessible through the online way on the website. Through a result, they will get to know of their qualifying status for the admission. The admission is given on the marks achieved by them in the BITSAT 2020 Exam.

It will be produced on the next day after the commencement of the exam. The result will be bearing the rank along with the number of marks you might be scoring in the exam.  They will have permission to appear for the test in the same year.

BITSAT 2020 Cut Off

Various campuses of BITS will release BITSAT 2020 Cut Off marks separately for various branches. Students have to score equal to or more than the released cut off marks to be eligible for admission in various campuses.

BITSAT 2020 Counselling/Admission

Aspirants will need to take part in the BITSAT 2020 Counseling for pursuing the course as per preference. Initially, they need to register at the website and submit the counseling fee. At the time of registration, you will be filling the name of the desired course. After that aspirant will require appearing for document verification by which, you will be provided with the seat at the college.

The certificates are required to present the application along with the 12th passing mark sheet and preferred choice. The merit list is produced as per scores obtained in the BITSAT 2020 Entrance Exam. For all courses, there will be a separate merit list based on which the admission is confirmed, and for that purpose, the admission list is generated on 3rd October 2020.

The seats are provided according to the number of vacant seats, category, preferred choice and the marks achieved in the entrance exam followed after they must report to the distribution center.
