BPSC 2019: Admit Card, Dates, Pattern, Syllabus

Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC)

BPSC 2019 Admit Card will be available on 5th October 2019. BPSC is conducted by the Bihar state of government to recruit for the civil service posts. BPSC came into existence in 1949.

Its examination encompasses three sections Preliminary study part followed by the Main Examination part and Interview. A preliminary study is an objective type (Multiple choice questions) for qualifying which has a weight of 150 marks, and each question is of 1 marks and the time limit is up to 2 hrs.

The main examination is a subjective type and further classified into two parts:

  • Written Examination – 1200 marks
  • Interview (Personality test) – 150 marks

The interview is conducted to analyze aspirant internal quality and capabilities.

There are four papers in the BPSC examination.

  • Hindi
  • General studies
  • First Optional Paper
  • Second Optional Paper

BPSC 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality

The aspirant must be the citizen of India to apply for the Indian Administrative Service.

Age Limit:

Candidates must not be less than 21 years of age and not more than 38 years.

No. of attempts &Age relaxation according to categories:
1) General Category No Relaxation
2) SC/ST/OBC 5 Years
3) physically Handicapped 5 Years
4) A.P.Govt. Servant According to Govt. rules

Educational qualification:

Candidates must have passed Degree in Arts/Science or Commerce of a University recognized by the State Government. The candidates with a degree or appear at the final semester of any degree course from any of the recognized universities can apply for the BPSC Exams or any University deemed by the University Grant Commission under section 3, Act 1956

The candidate must be a graduate in either of the following Subjects:
1) Mathematics
2) Mechanical Engineering
3) Civil Engineering
4)) Chemical Engineering
5) Economics
6) Statistics
7) Natural Science
8) Agriculture
9) Geology

Physical fitness criteria:
Candidate appearing for the State Civil Service Examination should be physically fit according to the standard of the BPSC.

BPSC 2019 Exam Pattern

As mention earlier, it consists of four papers. Hindi, General Studies, First Optional paper, and Second Optional Paper.  You have to score minimum of 30 marks in Hindi paper.

General Subject paper is divided into two papers:

  • General subject paper one maximum  (200 marks) time limit 3hrs
  • General subject paper two maximum (200 marks) time limit 3hrs

Paper-5 (Paper-I of First optional subject), full marks – 200

Paper-6 (Paper-I of First optional subject), full marks – 200

Paper-7 (Paper-I of First optional subject), full marks – 200

Make your schedule of study give appropriate time to each and every topic. Read newspaper, magazine, etc. To increase your awareness on current affairs just keep an eye on reading the various newspaper, watch television for breaking the news. Keep yourself up to date. Just go solving on previous papers, make a habit of marking the key point. Make your notes so that it will be easy while revising at last moments. Take the help of online assessment it will be better to boost your confidence level.

Self-assessment is an important preparation. Plan your studies at least two months before the exam. Questions can be asked from every nook and corner of the subject and therefore it is not all advisable to omit any chapter or area. Practice as many mock tests as possible in close to examination environment as possible. During preparation avoid the oily food just and avoid anxiety before the exam.

  • Get your mobile and record your notes in your voice to listen whenever you are free.
  • Practice different types of questions in each sitting.
  • Make different notes for topics which you feel, are difficult.
  • Discuss with your friends/brothers/ sisters about you learn and try to explain them the whole chapter to went through.
  • Concentrate on news/events related to Bihar and see how the news is important to the state. This will help you differentiate between important and unimportant topics for the exam.
