CMC Vellore MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2024, Qualification, Age – Check Here Category Wise Eligibility

Candidates should have passed the qualifying exam equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after 12 years of study, the last two years of study comprising Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with English. A candidate for admission to the medical course must have 60%* marks at +2 level in each of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (or Botany and Zoology took together) and have an aggregate of 140/200 in these subjects, both at qualifying and competitive examinations and should have passed in English

(*60% in each and 130/200 aggregate for BC, 55% in each and 120/200 aggregate for MBC, and 40% in each and 80/200 aggregate for SC/ST candidates). (BC, MBC, SC/ST as defined by the TN Government; all rules subject to change as per State & University guidelines) Candidates should have passed in all subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board or any other equivalent examination in the same attempt in the subjects.

Candidates should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or should complete the said age on or before 31st December of the said year.

Medical Postgraduate & Higher Specialty Courses

Applications are invited in September for post-graduate courses and in March for Higher Specialty (HS) courses.

Selection to Christian Medical College Vellore is based on performance in an entrance examination, clinical test, and interview. The examination consists of a variety of multiple-choice questions, distributed in all disciplines of Medicine.

All foreign students require a “No Objection Certificate” from the Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi 110 021.

 Diploma, M.D. & M.S. Courses starting in March, entrance Exam in November

Eligibility For Admission

MBBS + 1 year internship + Medical Council Registration.
Duration of courses: Two years for Diploma, three years for M.D. & M.S. courses.

Higher Specialty D.M. & M.Ch. Courses starting in August, entrance exam in May

Eligibility For Admission 

MBBS + 1-year internship + Medical Council Registration in the case of M.Ch. Neurosurgery 6-year course.
MBBS + 1 year internship + MD/MS + Medical Council Registration, for all other higher specialty courses.
Duration of D.M./M.Ch. courses: 3 years (except Neurosurgery 6-year course directly after MBBS)
