CTET 2019: Application, Dates, Eligibility, Syllabus, Pattern, Selection

CTET stands for Central Teachers Eligibility Test. The responsibility of conducting CTET has been advised to Ministry of Human Resources Development. Govt of India to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi.

It is conducted for the for the appointment of teacher in the country to bring national standards & benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process. It will include standards of teacher education institutions & students from these institutions to improve their performance.

There are two levels of paper. Candidates who clear paper-I will get to teach class I-V & paper-II from class Vi-VIII. Qualified Candidates can teach in any government & private schools referred to the clause of section 2 of the RTE Act.

Eligible candidates are requested to read all the guidelines mentioned by the NCTE before applying CTET from the official website.

CTET 2019 Application Form

  • CTET 2019 Online Application Form starts from June 2019
  • CTET 2019 Online Application Last date is July 2019
  • Candidates need to fill the Online Application form, from the official website.
  • Candidates must fill all their personal information carefully & also academic to apply for this exam.
  • Candidates need to upload their documents only a scanned copy.
  • Candidates need to read all the guidelines which are mentioned on the official website.
  • Candidates submit Online Application form more than one application his/her candidature shall be canceled and the candidate may debar for future examinations.
  • Candidates will not be sent any communication in this regard.

CTET 2019 Application Fee

  • CTET 2019 application fee starts from June 2019
  • CTET 2019 application fee the last date is July 2019
  • Candidates can pay application fees through Online & Offline both mode
  • Candidate paying through offline mode need to pay e-challan in nearest Syndicate or Canara Bank.

CTET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification for Primary (I-V)

  • Candidates must have passed HSC or its equivalent with at least 50% marks or appearing in final year of 2year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed OR appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education.
  • Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

Minimum Qualification for Upper- Primary (VI-VIII)

  • Candidates must have passed Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).
  • Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed ) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed OR appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed.

 CTET 2019 Exam Syllabus

For Paper-I

Child Development and PedagogyThe syllabus shall focus on understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with the focus on understanding for characteristics and needs of diverse, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning
MathematicsThe test items of Mathematics and Environmental Studies shall focus on the concepts, problem-solving abilities and pedagogical understanding of the subjects. In all these subject areas, the test items shall be evenly distributed over different divisions of the syllabus of that subject prescribed for classes IV by SCERT.
Language – I

 

Teaching Learning Materials, Principles of Teaching English, Unseen Prose Passage Comprehensive & Continuous Evaluation, Development of Language Skills, Teaching, Learning Materials, Unseen Prose Passage, etc.
Language – II (English)

 

Basic knowledge of English Sounds and their Phonetic Transcription, Modal Auxiliaries, Phrasal Verbs and Idioms, Literary Terms, Unseen Prose Passage, Unseen Poem, etc.
Environmental Studies

 

Water, Clothes dresses & their care, Natural Resources, Our Punjab, Solar System, Basic, needs, Food, resources and care, Our Surroundings, Group songs, Health, good habits & personal hygiene, Living and nonliving, Looking at the trees, plants & animals, Parts of plants, etc.

 For paper-II

 CTET 2019 Admit Card

  • Candidates can download their CTET Admit Card from August 2019.
  • Candidates must note that the CTET Admit card is an essential document and they should carry to the Exam center.
  • Candidates can download the CTET admit card from the official website.
  • CTET Admit card will be available before a week before the Exam.
  • No Physical Admit Card will be sent to students appearing for the exam.
  • Candidates must not forget their Admit card on the day of the exam. Otherwise, he/she shall not be allowed to seat in the exam.

CTET Exam Result

  • CTET Result will be disclosed soon after the exam.
  • CTET Result will be declared on the official website.
  • Candidates can view their result by providing their registration no on the official portal.
  • Candidates who clear the Entrance Exam will be eligible for a personal round interview.

CTET Selection Procedure

  • Participants selection process will be done based on the performance of the CTET Entrance Exam conducted by the Central Government.
  • Participants will be shortlisted by marks scored in the Entrance Exam.
  • Participants also have to go for Final Round Personal Interview

The validity of CTET Certificate

All qualified Applicants will have Seven years of the validity period for CTET certificate from the date of result announcement for all category candidates (consisting both reserved & unreserved category).

CTET Duplicate Certificate

Candidate can get a duplicate copy of Marksheet or Eligibility Certificate by paying the fee prescribes by Central Govt. in favor of Secretary, Central Board of Secondary Education, drawn on any nationalized bank payable at Delhi.

Number of Attempts

There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a CTET certificate. A person qualified in CTET may also appear again for improving his/her score

Qualifying Marks

  • A person who scores 60% or more in the CTET exam will be considered as CTET passed as Central Govt., as decided to give the concession of 5% in CTET to the persons belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently abled persons, etc., by their extant reservation policy.
  • This weightage to the CTET scores in the recruitment process; however, qualifying the CTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

APPLICABILITY

  • The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools, etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi.
  • CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of considering the CTET.
  • Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.
