DU JAT 2018: Cut-off, Result, Counselling & Admission Procedure

Delhi University 2018 Fifth Admission List for UG entrance based courses has been released on 6th August 2018. This exam is conducted every year for the admission in Delhi University and hence only one national level exam is conducted and not the state level exams. DU JAT entrance exam for admission in undergraduate management program is conducted by the Delhi University, Delhi. By this process, the candidates will get admission in undergraduate degree and diploma. This degree and diploma seats will be in the medical and dental colleges of Nashik. Delhi University organizes the JAT examination for providing admission to students in BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies), BA (Hons) Business Economics, BBA (FIA) and other courses. After qualifying JAT exam, students also have to clear the GD-PI rounds to get admission.

DU JAT Admit Card


The candidates who applied for the entrance examination can check for the admit card on the official website of DU JAT. The admit card will be downloaded by the candidate from the official website of DU JAT. The download of admit card will be for a limited period of time.

The candidates will have to give information or log in using id and personal information to access the admit card. After validation in that site, the candidate will be allowed to download the admit card. There will be the deadline for downloading DU JAT admit card and candidate are requested to download before the due date.

All the candidates will have to carry the admit card to the examination hall or the online examination centre. In case candidate loses or forget to bring the admit card to the centre the candidate NOT be allowed to sit for the examination. The admit card is mandatory to give the examination.

Some important steps to Download DU JAT Admit card


  • Visit the official link shared above on this page to directly access the admit card download page.
  • Enter your registered email id and password for logging in the space provided, and then press submit.
  • After you are login to the account, click on download admit card. DU JAT 2018 admit card was displayed on the screen.
  • Download it and print at least two clear copies of the admit card, where all details are clearly visible.
  • Remember to carry all printed copies to the examination hall.

DU JAT Application Form


DU JAT application form for the session 2018. The application form will be available in the second week of  April. The DU JAT application form will be available online only and no other mode is available. The application form filling for DU JAT will be in the month of June that is also from the second week of June.

All the candidates will have to fill all the details of their own in the application form of DU JAT. The filled information should be rechecked by the candidates to avoid the mistakes. The recheck is necessary to avoid miss typing and other chances of errors. Once the checking is done the candidate will now submit the application form and after submitting the application form the candidate will not be allowed to edit further and entries can’t be changed.

All the candidates applying should make sure that they have appeared for DU JAT and have qualified it. The candidates passed the exam with flying colours can only appear for the counselling and registration process further.

The application form will include details like name, number etc that is personal details, academic details, the area you belong to and other related and relevant details. After that, fill up the details such as courses studied and obtained marks percentage, age, the address for communication, etc. Upload a 35X45 vivid photo of the candidate. Once after that, pay the application fee via Debit card/Credit Card/Internet banking. After transferring the payment successfully, you will get a receipt on your registered email address and Mobile Phone. This details will be filled first and then the procedure will be completed by paying the application fees.

Application fees


The counselling fee of DU JAT 2018 is  Rs. 500/- for general category students and Rs. 251 for SC/ST/PWD category. There can be different modes of payment for the counselling fees. The fee can be paid through Credit/Debit Card/Net banking.

The counselling registration fee will NOT be returned to any of the candidates under any circumstances.

DU JAT Eligibility Criteria


Eligibility criteria are the set of conditions that a candidate needs to satisfy when appearing for a particular examination. The rules are by the examination conducting authorities only.  There are some set of rules that are mentioned below to provide reading candidates with the details and conditions of the examination:

  • Every aspirant must have passed in the March/April board examinations, conducted by a recognised board, to be eligible to appear in the test. The Senior Secondary School Examination must be of CBSE or any other examination which is considered equivalent by the University of Delhi.
  • Candidates who have appeared in the senior secondary examinations and are awaiting their results are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates belonging to the General Category should have an aggregate of minimum 60% in four papers including English, Mathematics and other two subjects from the list of elective subjects as approved by the University of Delhi.
  • The minimum percentage requirement for SC, ST, CW and PWD category candidates is 55 percent in each of the four papers considered for computing the aggregate.
  • In case of students awaiting their board results, they need to produce the confirmed result and mark sheet of the qualifying examination on the day of the DU JAT 2018 Counselling/ Selection Procedure for admission in BMS/BBA (FIA)/ B.A (Hons) Business Economics programs.
  • Candidates without any result confirmation mark sheets would not be considered as eligible, and will not be allowed for admissions.
  • In case of candidates belonging to any other category except general (OBC-non creamy layer/SC/ST/PWD/CW), they need to produce their category certificate at the final admission stage.
  • Candidates with the compartment in any of the subjects are not eligible as per the DU JAT eligibility criteria 2018.
  • Also, candidates who have appeared for XII class improvement papers are not eligible to apply for DU JAT for the current year. They may apply next year.

DU JAT Counselling


The counselling date and procedure for DU JAT counselling will release on its official website of DU JAT. The registration fee for one-time counselling will be Rs. 1000/-. The candidates are provided with the address and contact information so that the candidate can get the required information properly.

Based on the exam result, the institute prepare final merit list and the names of candidates added to the final merit list will later call for counselling secession. To participate in online counselling, candidates must ready with the Testing ID provided by NEET 2018. Verification of the candidate will require a valid mobile no. fr new user or even for registered user. There will be more than one round of counselling so the candidate who fails to register in the 1st round of counselling will not be permitted to register in 2nd and subsequent rounds of counselling.

The documents that are required at the time of counselling should be self-attested. The documents required for DU JAT counselling are:

  • Candidates have to carry the admit card with attested photograph and its photocopy.
  • One attested copy of Senior Secondary Examination mark sheet
  • A General category candidate should have minimum 60% marks, while for OBC it is 54% and 55% for CW &PWD.
  • One attested photocopy of the confirmed result of qualifying exam (XIIth standard).
  • Original certificate that states a candidate belongs to the particular category
  • Latest Income Certificate of the parents (applicable only to the candidates belonging to OBC category) original and one self-attested photocopy.
  • Class X Board Examination Certificate
  • Class X Marks-Sheet
  • Class XII Marks-Sheet
  • Class XII Provisional Certificate / Original Certificate
  • Character Certificate (recent)
  • SC/ST/PWD/CW Certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by the competent authority

  • Transfer Certificate from school/college as well as Migration Certificate from Board / University are required from those students who have passed senior secondary exam from outside Delhi
  • At least two passport size self-attested photographs.

DU JAT Results


The result of DU JAT will be provided on the official website of the DU JAT. The date of release of the result will be in the mid of April. The list will be category wise merit list only for those candidates who are eligible. The merit list will be displayed on the University official website. The qualifying marks for GEN category will be 50%, for SC/ST/OBC category it will be 40% and 45% for PwD candidates.

The exam will be written exam of DU JAT and this will be conducted in the last week of January 2018. The exam conducting authority Delhi University, Delhi, India conducts the exam once in a year to offer admission for undergraduate and postgraduate courses at colleges participating in the DU JAT.

Exam pattern is as follows:

  • Candidates have to appear for one paper only and the exam duration will be 3 hours.
  • The question paper will contain 100 Multiple Choices Questions (MCQs) and the paper will be set in English language only.
  • Each correct answer will lead to the addition of one mark. There will be negative marking is applicable to wrong answers.
  • 3 mark will be given to each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer.
