Many Universities are opening every month everywhere in India providing Distance Education and creating confusion in students “s minds that this University is fake or genuine.
We agree that there are many benefits of distance education in India but with proper Universities. In this article, we have written a List of fake Universities in India by UGC in 2019. Must read and beware of these listed Universities.
Fake Universities in India 2020
According to the Commission, the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 under Section 22(1) provides that a degree can be awarded, only by a University established under a Central, State/Provincial Act or an institution deemed to be university under Section 3 of the UGC Act or an Institution especially empowered by an Act of Parliament to confer the degree.

Other universities that have been identified as fake include one each from Pondicherry, Aligarh, Bihar, Rourkela, Odisha, Kanpur, Pratapgarh, Mathura, Kanpur, Nagpur, Kerala, Karnataka, Bihar, and two universities in Allahabad.
Last year too, UGC had released a list of such fake universities which included Maithili University/Vishwavidyalaya, Darbhanga (Bihar), Varanaseya Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi (UP), Commercial University Ltd Daryaganj (New Delhi), United Nations University, Delhi and Vocational University, Delhi.
