Gandhi Jayanti celebrated on the 2nd of October and it is the national holiday of India. It is celebrated on the national level and it is the day of birth of our nation father Mahatma Gandhi.

This important day is celebrated with great respect and honor in the whole nation. He was popularly known as the Mahatma Gandhi or Bapuji.

On the International level, this day is celebrated as the International Day. The Mahatma Gandhiji was the great preacher of Non-Violence. He is a symbol of peace and truth.

Gandhiji was born on 2nd October 1869, in Porbandar, which small town located in Gujarat.

Education of Gandhiji

Mahatma Gandhi studied law in the U.K and he attends the first law practiced in South Africa. In the autobiography Mahatma Gandhi, which name was “My experiments with Truth” In this book, he has described his childhood and teenage years, He was married to Kasturba at the age of 13 years and did many of the struggles for the motherland of India for many years.

Standard of living

Mahatma Gandhi was very simplest and his thing was very high and he also gives this example to all for live simple and thinks make high. It was a great way of living of Gandhiji.

He was totally against the addictions like smoking, drinking and non-vegetarianism.

Movement of Gandhiji

Gandhiji was the great legend of truth and non-violence. He brought into India, a great movement, which was the ‘Quit India Movement”. He started the ‘Satyagraha’ (non-violence) movement for the Indian freedom struggle. India got the most important day, Independence day, which comes in India by Gandhiji. He played a very significant role in achieving independence for India from British rule.

He proved to the world that freedom can be achieved through the path of total non-violence. Every type of organization is closed on this day and it is granted throughout the country. Gandhi Jayanti’s special event is organized at Raj Ghat, New Delhi where Gandhiji was cremated.

People do prayers, pay homage and sing Gandhiji’s favorite song “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, Patit Pavan Sita Ram…”. “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
