GIPE Entrance Exam 2020, For M.Sc, Dates & Eligibility

GIPE Faculty PostsGokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE) is the oldest research and training institute of Economics in India. The GIPE University was established in the year 1930 and situated in Pune, India. The Gokhale Institute is affiliated to UGC (University Grants Commission) and NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).

The Entrance exam of the GIPE will soon declare the admissions for M. Sc. Program to begin in 2020. The admissions in GIPE are done through a competitive exam which is conducted by the institute. The exam for 2020 session can take place in the month of June 2020. The programs offered for M.Sc. (Economics), M. Sc. (Financial Economics), M. Sc. (Agribusiness Economics), M. Sc. (International Business Economics and Finance).

GIPE Entrance exam for M. Sc. 2020

The candidates who wish to seek admission need to give the entrance exam. The exam will be 100 marks and the time duration will be 120 minutes. There will be questions of Multiple Choice Questions, 1 marks for each correct answer. The negative marking of ¼ marks for wrong answers.

The entrance exam paper consists of 3 topics, such as Aptitude in Mathematics and Statistics (30 questions), Analytical Ability and Reasoning (20 questions), undergraduate level knowledge in Economics (50 questions).

Important Dates for GIPE Entrance Exam 2020

The Application forms will be Released in 2nd week of March 2020 and the last date for submission in 3rd week of May 2020. Then after the Admit Card will be issued in 1st week of June 2020 and the Exam will be held in 2nd week of June 2020. Result will be Declared after the examination.

Eligibility Criteria for GIPE Entrance Exam 2020

  • The candidates must have the graduation degree.
  • At least 50% marks are needed for general category candidates.
  • 45% marks in needed for reserved category candidates.
  • The final year candidates are also eligible to apply.

Exam Pattern for GIPE Entrance Exam 2020

  • Time duration is 120 minutes.
  • The number of questions is 100.
  • Type of questions is objective type (with 4 options for each question).
  • Marks for right answers is 1 mark.
  • Negative marking of ¼ marks for the wrong answer.

  1. Descriptive Statistics-Measures of Central Tendency- Measures of Dispersion-Correlation and Regression Coefficient – Probability Theory- Index Numbers.

  1. Macroeconomics (Demand Curves, Price and Income Elasticity of Demand, Cost Curves, Equilibrium of Firm under different market structures).

  3. Basic theories of growth and development.
  4. Recent developments in Indian Economy and international economic issues of contemporary importance.
