How to become an IOFS Officer (Indian Ordnance Factories Service)

IOFS Officer

By Ordinance factories, we mean those factories who give birth to equipment for the Defence Services. The Indian Ordnance Factories Service (IOFS) officers are recruited for this work in these factories for a time period of around 10 years. They would be selected to further work as commissioned officers of the Armed forces for a time period of around 4 years. At the uppermost position of the IOFS officer is the Chairman who is equivalent to a Secretary, then the structure goes on with Members of the Ordinance Factories or Director General Ordinance Factories and then by the General Manager. The pay scale for senior and junior positions is same as opted for the other services.

    Actually I’m not getting a point that after working of 10 year in factory where will he go ? Will he not work up-to 30 year as in other government services and is there frequent transfer in ordnance factory?

      Of course, he will serve up to the age of superannuation which is presently 60 years
