The Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS  officer) is meant for maintaining the complete accounting of the Defence Services. The foremost post to be placed in after appointment is of the Assistant Controller of Defence Accounts.

Indian Defence Accounts (IDAS Officer) Service Eligibility

The eligibility criteria for the Indian Defence Accounts Service exam are actually the same as for other services. So, if the aspirant gets successful in qualifying the civil services and also an allotment to the service as per his/her rank, he has then to go for a special training.

Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS Officer) Recruitment and Training

The Indian Defence Accounts Service training is carried out for around 1 and half years. Before the main training, the cadets are trained for auditors and clerks for a period of 2 months. After this, they are recruited officially in Defence Accounts Director’s Office. Here the training program is divided into 4 stages:

  • Basic Training for 2 weeks
  • Functional or Specific Training in 3 weeks
  • Computer Allied Training in 2 weeks
  • Grooming in 1 week

The last stage i.e. the perfection or Grooming Module is conducted by IDAS Officers or Guest Faculty. The cadets are then recruited to the Defence Accounts Authority’s office where they are strongly guided by the senior Administrative Officers or IDAS Officers with practical training in Accounting and Costing Sections, Audit. The apprentice auditors are supposed to attend classed inaccurate attire in RTC course group.

Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS Officer) Exam 2016

The Indian Defence Accounts Service exam 2016 notification has been released and the last date of online application was on the 07th August 2016. The date fixed for the preliminary exam is 23rd August 2015. The next exam for the same would be held 2017 at the same time exceptions may happen.

Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS Officer) syllabus 2016

The syllabus for the civil services exam in 2016 is also the same as for the Indian Defence Accounts Service and other services. There is no variation, however.

Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS Officer) Rank their Salaries and Service Hierarchy is as following.

1) Junior Time Scale

  • The basic pay usually lies between Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 13,500
  • Grade Pay is around Rs.275
  • Posts comprising: Assistant Controller of Defence Accounts

2) Senior Time Scale

  • The basic pay usually lies between Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,200
  • Grade Pay is around Rs.325
  • Posts comprising: Deputy Controller of Defence Accounts

3) Junior Administrative Grade

  • The basic pay usually lies between Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 16,500
  • Grade Pay is around Rs.375
  • Posts comprising: Joint Controller of Defence Accounts

4) Selection Grade

  • The basic pay usually lies between Rs. 14,300 to Rs. 18,300
  • Grade Pay is around Rs.400

5) Senior Administrative Grade

  • The basic pay usually lies between Rs. 18,400 to Rs. 22,400
  • Grade Pay is around Rs.500
  • Posts comprising: Controller of Defence Accounts

6) (i) Higher Administrative Grade

  • The basic pay usually lies between Rs. 22,400 to Rs. 25,500
  • Grade Pay is around Rs.525
  • Posts comprising: a) Principal Controller of Defence Accounts b) Additional Controller General of Defence Accounts

6 (ii) Higher Administrative Grade

It is fixed at Rs. 26000 no grade pay is granted to this post holder.
