IGNOU Registration 2018 Started – Apply for M.Phill/Ph.D, January Session
IGNOU 2018 Registration for January Session (fresh admission) has been extended till 15th February 2018. The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers various certificate, diploma, degree and doctoral programmes in the field of management, nursing, commerce, arts and many other fields. OPENMAT (OPEN Management Aptitude Test) is conducted by the Indira Gandhi National Open University for admission to various postgraduate degree and diploma courses in the field of management study.
The OPENMAT test is done twice a year and considered for admission to management programmes of IGNOU only. The OPENMAT exam pattern is usually the same every year. There will be a total of 200 Multiple Choice Questions which the candidates need to complete in 3 hours. The questions are divided into four sections.

- Candidates can fill the application form through online mode.
- Register yourself on the website and fill the required registration details.
- IGNOU 2018 registration for M.Phill & Ph.D. courses can be done till 16th February 2018.
- The last date to apply will be 15th February 2018 (for January session).If you have already registered the student, then you have to log in only with your old password and login id.
- Enter all the details in the IGNOU online application form and upload the required scanned images of photograph, signature & required documents.
- Take a printout of the application form and keep it safe for future process.
- In case of OPENMAT exam, candidates have to download the application through the website and send it by post to the following address:

The OPENMAT exam pattern as follows
General Awareness: 30 Questions
English Language: 50 Questions
Quantitative Aptitude: 50 Questions
Reasoning: 70 Questions
Current AffairsIndia: Constitution, Government, Laws, Famous People, Achievements, Organisations, History, Geography, Economy, Politics, States, etc.
Reading and Comprehension: You will be asked to read passages and then answer the multiple choice questions based on the journey.
Quantitative Aptitude Algebra, Ratios and Proportions, LCM, HCF, Statistics, Mean, mode, median, Permutations, combinations, etc.
Assertion and reasons, Assumption-Premise-Conclusion, Cause and Effect, Coding and decoding, Critical thinking, Family Tree, Statements and assumptions, Statements and conclusions, Symbol Based problems, Visual reasoning, etc.
In the OPENMAT examination, there are 200 questions to be solved in 180 minutes. So for sections like General Awareness, don’t spend a lot of time thinking of an answer. If you are unable to respond a question in the first reading, only leave the question and move to the next question.
Attempt all the questions you know and then try for the items you are somewhat doubtful. This way you can save a lot of time and try the maximum number of questions. There is no negative marking in the OPENMAT examination.
The candidates are advised to prepare for exam keeping the entrance exam pattern in mind. This will keep them focused and lead to thorough preparation. The cut-off for OPENMAT is decided by IGNOU. However, the minimum marks required to get admission to any of the management programmes offered by IGNOU; the student has to score at least 60% – 70%.
