IISc institute of science and research provides the placement to the candidates, by taking a personal test or interview. This institute has “The Corporate Relations and Placements Committee” at the Institute itself, this Institute provides placement to their candidates. Placement can be done through two-way is on the campus and the other is an outside campus, all the recruiting companies are visiting the different institutes and offer to all qualified candidates placement in their company.

On the campus, placement means multiple no. of companies visiting the campus and recruiting the candidates for placement in their companies, whereas outside campus placement refers to candidates have to visit the campus venue for getting the placement in multiple companies. This institute has a high-level contact at the Corporate level, therefore candidates who are appeared from this Institute get a job easily.

These institutes are leading with HR all over India. The institute always aims in developing constructive and purposeful processes for assuring a successful career for each student those have given their best efforts for the exam. Overall, the hugely successful event which witnessed a footfall of about 1500 students, exposed the students to a wide spectrum of career opportunities. Covering genomics, material science, electronics, software, e-learning, drug discovery, and even molecular gastronomy.

The support of the faculty advisory body, particularly the director Prof. Anurag Kumar, and the efforts of the student organizers and volunteers ensured that this edition of Samanway was conducted on a much larger scale, and received a much more enthusiastic response than previous editions. Industry delegates said they were extremely pleased that IISc Institute had taken this crucial step forward in initiating a dialogue with them. All the IISc students who were appeared in the exam with a good rank were very happy to learn about how the industry functions and to discover new career avenues.

Placement Portal:

Instruction for students: 

Candidates, who are planning to apply for Campus Interviews for jobs or internships or to apply for offline opportunities using OCCAP help, must register in this portal. The site will remain open for updates until February.

• Students can directly sign in at this portal using a valid SR number to register for job or internship placements.  Some relevant information will be picked up from the Academic Database and cannot be changed here.  Please read the rules and regulation instructed by the Institute and are available on this website.
• Students interested in placements during the academic 2023-2023 must sign up and complete their profile by February. Please use the sign in to edit your profile or apply for a job.  You will also get notifications of OCCAP events.
• You will not be able to change your login id during the placement season.  Both email and mobile number will be verified and OCCAP will make efforts to inform you using both for any announcements.
• Students joined after July 2007 can register using their SR number.  In some cases, it has been reported that the number in the database is different from the originally assigned number.  If there is difficulty please write to [email protected] with your full name, date of joining, and program details.

During the signup process, students will have to choose between a Job or Internship.  This cannot be changed during the current placement season. Please note that none of the students registered for job placement this year will be allowed in subsequent academic years.

• Opportunities for Internships at Industries will be available for all categories of students at this stage.  For UG and M.Tech students, internships will be allowed only during summer months (May-July 2023).   Please note that consent from the guide/adviser/ chair of the department in the form of a scanned letter is required to be eligible to apply using the portal.    Please use the link from the download page.

Students can fill in their academic details using specified fields.  Also, they may upload up to two versions of their CV.  The Other Information field is provided for students to fill in other important information such as key achievements, previous experience, or any other information that may help their selection.

All students registering at this stage ARE required to upload a scanned copy of a consent letter in the prescribed format in their profile.  Please use the link from the download page.  All new accounts without such a letter will be disabled before posting new opportunities.

• OCCAP will notify students to apply for available job/internship opportunities at a later date. Student profiles will be visible to recruiters only after they apply.  While applying, they should link up their CV.
• Please note that CV or any other information in the portal can NOT be changed by the student after the registration deadline (February 2023)
• Information provided by students in this portal will be subject to verification, and if found to be incorrect, the student account will be disqualified till the end of the placement season.
