IIST 2020 Application Form

The IIST 2020 Application Form is necessary to take admission into the field of various courses.

  • The application form will be filled with online mode.
  • IIST registration 2020 will occur from the 1st week of April (for UG courses) and the 1st week of May (for PG courses).
  • For UG courses, candidates can apply between the third week of May to the first week of June 2020, and for PG courses, candidates can apply between second to the fourth week of April 2020.
  • In the IIST 2020 Application Form, it is mandatory for the personal, qualification, communication, and other required details to be filled.
  • Aspirants must affix scanned images of photograph, signature, caste certificate, or the medical certificate to the form.
  • After filling up all the required details, keep the printout of the application form.

IIST 2020 Application Fee

  • Aspirants coming under General and OBC category need to submit Rs 600 for the completion of the process.
  • Aspirants coming under the Reserved category need to submit Rs 300.

Mode of Payment: Candidates can pay their application fee debit/credit card or via net banking.

IIST 2020 Eligibility Criteria

UG courses (B.Tech):

Applicants must be Indian citizens. Students must have been born as of October 1, 1994 (for General and OBC) and October 1, 1989 (for reserved categories). Applicants must have passed the 12th exam or equivalent with PCM subjects from any recognized board. In the qualification exam, students must have obtained at least 75% (65% of qualifications for the reserved categories). Candidates also qualified for the JEE Main & JEE Advanced 2020 exam.

PG courses:

The candidates must be Indian citizens. The maximum age limit is 32 years on April 30, 2019, for general candidates. For the SC / ST and PD candidates, the decrease in age will be applied by the orders of the Government of India. Applicants must have BE, B.Tech, MS, M.Sc. or an equivalent title. Candidates must have obtained at least 60% points or 6.5 MPC (55% or 6.0 MPC for reserved categories). Valid scorecard of the GATE / JEST / UGC NET exam in the corresponding field.

  • The eligibility criteria for appearing in the exam is a minimum of 70%scores in 12th from Maths, Chemistry, and Physics in OBC and General Category can apply for the entrance test for IIST 2020.
  • Applicants obtaining 60% marks in class XII with subjects from a recognized university as eligibility requirement will be taken into account for the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology 2020.

IIST 2020 Exam Pattern

The pattern of exam is such that it will test the proficiency of students with the basics of subjects. The aspirants will have limited hours to attempt the test.

  • The entrance test is conducted with Multiple Type Questions.

The paper will be categorized into three sections:

  • Section 1– Physics
  • Section 2– Chemistry and
  • Section 3- Mathematics


  • The students will get three marks for each correct option.
  • One mark will be removed for each incorrect answer. As negative marking applies to the wrong answer, you must answer all questions in a prudent manner.
  • The aspirants will be awarded OMR Sheets for answering the questions.
  • In the exam, Blue or Black Ball Point pens will be used for attempting the questions.

IIST 2020 Syllabus

It is necessary for students to go through the Syllabus of the 11th and 12th comprising of science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.


  • Properties of Matter, Thermodynamics, Optics and Waves, Electromagnetism, Mechanics, and laboratory-related questions.


  • Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, environmental chemistry, biomolecules, chemistry in everyday life, and polymers.


  • Statistics and Probability, Trigonometry, Vector Algebra, Matrices and Determinants, Three-Dimensional Geometry, Co-ordinate Geometry, Integral Calculus, Limit, Continuity and Differentiability, Sets, Relations and Functions, Permutations and Combinations, Complex Numbers and Quadratic Equations, Mathematical Induction, Binomial Theorem, and its Simple Applications, etc.

IIST 2020 Admit Card

The Admit Card for IIST 2020 Examination will be downloaded by the online process using your registration no and password.

  • The students will require taking the Xerox of hall ticket along with them to get an entry in the examination hall.
  • It is the requirement for an exam as it contains fundamental details concerning exam including timing, date, student’s name, their roll no, etc.
  • It can not be accessed in any other way except for online.
  • The details printed on the admit card will be inclined towards making it the mandatory document for an exam.

IIST Rank List 2020

The rank list will be published through the online mode. The result of the IIST (list of ranges) will be published on June 2020 on different dates for the UG and PG courses.

The list of merit will be prepared according to the grades obtained in the advanced JEE 2020 exam for UG courses. For PG courses, the list will be prepared by the GATE, JEST or UGC NET exam.

IIST Admission 2020 Merit List

IIST Admission 2020 Merit List will be declared by online mode after the completion of the registration process. Candidates can check their rank with the help of registration number and password. For UG courses merit list will be declared on the website in the third week of June 2020. The merit list will be based on the score of JEE (Advanced).

IIST Cut Off 2020

Students can verify the cut on the website. IIST will launch two types of cuts, namely, cut eligibility and cut admission. First, candidates must obtain grades based on the limit released according to the entrance test. Subsequently, the admission criteria will be published according to the rank, category, performance of the interview/admission, availability of seats, etc.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

  • A higher rank will be given to the candidate who has scored higher marks in Mathematics.
  • If the tie still exists, then, the higher rank will be given to the candidate who scored the higher marks in Physics.
  • Even if the tie exists, then, the higher rank will be given to the candidate who scored a higher rank in JEE(Main) 2020 examination, in the respective category.

IIST Admission 2020 Interview

Based on the merit list, candidates will be called for IIST Admission 2020 Interview. The interview will be conducted for PG courses only. Candidates will deal with some personal and educational questions here.

IIST 2020 Result

  • The IIST 2020 Result will come off as a scorecard through online mode. IIST Result (rank list) will be provided at the site of AU in June 2020 on different dates for UG and PG courses.
  • The result for IIST will be considered as a reflection of extended hard work which will satiate the inquisitiveness of getting fruits of your labor.
  • The scorecard will contain the marks and performance of the students in the concerned exam.
  • The merit list is decided through marks scored in the JEE advanced 2020 exam for UG courses. For PG courses, the list will be designed on GATE, JEST or UGC NET exam.

IIST Admission 2020 Seat Reservation

IIST Admission 2020 Seat Reservation will be made for the eligible candidates belonging to various categories. This relaxed criterion is as per the norms of government of India, which is given below in the table:

IIST 2020 Counselling

The Counseling process will begin online.

For UG Courses:

To apply for UG courses, a rank list is estimated as per marks secured in JEE Advanced exam. The merit list can only be achieved by those who have registered online and met the eligibility criteria. Aspirants must be present at the counseling center along with documents to take part in the counseling process.

For PG Courses:

Originally, selected students applying for registration will be favored for admission. They will be preferred for admission rounds because of scores in GATE, JEST, or UGC NET examination. After that, students must go through the interview or any other admission round.

Candidates are advised to carry their original documents and a set of photocopies of originals for the process of counseling. After the successful completion of counseling, candidates will be called for the process of admission. Documents listed below are required during the counseling process:

  • Educational Certificates
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Caste certificate (if needed)
  • Scorecard of the national level exam
  • Admit card of the exam through which candidate is applying
  • Printed application form of IIST 2020

IIST 2020 Admission Procedure

After the successful completion of counseling, IIST 2020 Admission Procedure will start. Candidates are required to visit the university for the process of admission. Candidates will be required to submit the fee of the applied course.

In case of candidates do not pay course fee within the stipulated period, then their candidature will get canceled by the officials automatically.
