IIT JAM 2024 Application for Admission is open till 24th April 2024. IIT JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc) is a national-level exam. It is carried out by IISc or IITs based on rotation for applicants wishing to be admitted to IISc and IITs. IIT, Madras, will conduct IIT JAM 2024. CCMN 2024 (Counselling Body for Admission to NITs and CFTIs) will admit candidates through qualified JAM 2024 scores.

The counselling of IIT JAM 2024 will be conducted only for those candidates who complete the admission form after the result of IIT JAM 2024 is declared. IIT JAM 2024 Counselling will be organized by IIT (Indian Institute of Technology), Madras. Counselling will be commenced when the exam. IIT JAM (Joint Admission For M.Sc) is held nationally, and the aspirants with names on the merit list will participate in the IIT JAM Counseling 2024.

Qualified candidates must complete the IIT JAM Exam admission form online to participate in the counselling for IIT JAM 2024. After filling out the form, candidates must pay the counselling fees within the specified timeframe to finalize their IIT JAM 2024 counselling application.

To attend IIT JAM Counseling 2024, applicants must complete the admission form. Candidates whose names appear on the merit list are eligible for admission only. Applicants must enter all the details on the admission form that is required.

Applicants should add as many preference numbers as possible based on the qualified IIT JAM test documents. By accepting the offer of admission, the candidate can benefit from one of three options: accept and freeze, except with an update and reject and exit.

IIT JAM 2024 Results has been declared on 22nd March 2024. The organizing authority will publish the second admission list if the places remain vacant. The interested admission institution will send the admission notice to each candidate. The third admission list will only be published if the seats remain vacant after the second list.

Seat Allotment:

During the seat allotment process of IIT JAM 2024, candidates’ preferences, ranks, and the availability of seats will be taken into consideration to determine the allocation of seats.

Reporting to the Allotted Institute:

Following the seat allotment process in IIT JAM 2024, candidates are required to report to the institute they have been allotted. At the institute, they must complete admission formalities, which include paying the required fees and submitting necessary documents as per the institute’s guidelines.

Candidates who wish to accept the seats allocated to them in IIT JAM Counselling 2024 must pay the Seat Booking fees through various payment methods such as credit card, debit card, net banking, and UPI. IIT JAM 2024 Choice Locking

Candidates participating in CCMN 2024 need to first pay the registration fees. Following payment, they have the flexibility to add, remove, or adjust the order of their preferred colleges in the saved list until the specified CCMN Choice Locking deadline. During this period, candidates can modify their college choices according to their preferences. However, once the CCMN choice locking deadline has passed, candidates must finalize and lock their selected colleges. After locking the choices, no further modifications to the applied college list are permitted.

If a candidate fails to lock their choices before the deadline, their last saved list of colleges will be automatically considered for the next counselling round. Candidates need to be mindful of the deadlines and manage their college choices accordingly to facilitate a seamless admission process.

IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Seat Allotment

In the IIT JAM Counselling 2024 process, candidates will secure their seats based on their IIT JAM 2024 Result, IIT JAM 2024 Cut Off, and the overall number of participants in the exam. During the initial round of seat allotment, candidates are required to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee or CCMN Seat Acceptance Fee, irrespective of their satisfaction with the allotted seat. Subsequently, after each round, a separate CCMN Seat Allotment List will be published, containing the roll numbers, names, and allotted seat details of the candidates.

IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Seat Acceptance Options Available

In the IIT JAM Counselling 2024 process, candidates are provided with three Seat Acceptance options, allowing them to tailor their admission decisions based on their preferences and available institutes:

• Freeze Option: Candidates who opt for the Freeze option are satisfied with both the course and college they have been allotted. By selecting this option, they confirm their admission to the allocated institute without seeking any further upgrades or changes. This choice signifies their commitment to pursuing their education at the allotted college and course.
• Float Option: The Float option is suitable for candidates seeking better opportunities in subsequent counselling rounds. By choosing this option, candidates express their willingness to accept an upgraded seat at a more preferred institute if one becomes available. However, if they do not receive an upgraded seat in subsequent rounds, they will be required to accept the seat allotted to them initially.

If an upgraded course is not offered, candidates will have to accept the seat initially allotted to them.

IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Seat Rejection Options Available

In the IIT JAM Counselling 2024, candidates dissatisfied with the seat allocated through the Centralised Counselling for M.Sc./M.Sc. Tech (CCMN) can choose the ‘Surrender and Participate in the next round’ option. This choice enables the candidate to participate in the subsequent counselling round while relinquishing their claim on the currently assigned seat.

However, if the candidate fails to secure a seat in the following round, they forfeit their opportunity to secure admission in the initially allotted seat through CCMN. In such scenarios, these candidates must partake in the Vacant Seat Round (CCMN 2024 Spot Round) to endeavour to secure admission in an available seat.

IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Withdrawal of Application

Candidates desiring to withdraw from the IIT JAM CCMN 2024 counselling process can utilize the ‘Withdrawal of Application Form’ option. By selecting this option, candidates forfeit their participation in any round of IIT JAM 2024 Counselling. Consequently, the seat allotted in the current round will be reallocated to another candidate. Upon withdrawal, the CCMN 2024 seat acceptance fee/seat allotment fee will be refunded to the candidate. However, it’s important to note that the IIT JAM CCMN counselling fee will not be refunded.

IIT JAM Counselling 2024 Opening and Closing Ranks
