IMU CET 2020IMU stands for the Indian Maritime University, and this university offers admission to multiple courses such as B.Sc., M.Sc, B.Tech, M.Tech, and BBA & MBA Courses in the marine field for the Interested applicants.

To select the fetch for the right applicant IMU conducts the common entrance test which is organized and considered as a national level entrance exam.

This Entrance Exam is known as IMU CET. IMU CET 2020 will be conducted by the Indian Maritime University. IMU CET is a national level entrance test organized once every year to offer admissions into various UG & PG courses.

Admission will be Provided in Five Campuses located in Cochin, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Vishakhapatnam.

IMU CET 2020 Application Form

The information related to the application process is listed below:

Candidates will fill the IMU CET 2020 online application form from April 2020.

  • Applicants need to click on the Apply Online Link on the home page.
  • The IMU CET 2020 Application Form will open in a new page.
  • The applicants have to fill the mandatory information in the application form — personal, educational, course, city preference, etc.
  • Save the details by clicking on the save tab.
  • Upload the scanned documents.
  • Passport size photo & signature. Marksheet, certificates, etc.
  • Pay the application fee online and save the payment confirmation page.
  • Enter the payment confirmation number on the application form.
  • Click on save and submit tab to complete the process successfully.
  • Save the confirmation page for reference.

IMU CET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The information related to the eligibility criteria is listed below for this entrance exam:

  • The applicant should be more than 17 years of age and less than 25 years at the time of filling the application.
  • Years of relaxation will be provided to the applicants who are from reserved category.

For Tech, B.Sc. & B.Tech Lateral:

  • Applicants should be HSC pass.
  • Applicants should have achieved a minimum of 60% of the score in total for the PCM subjects.
  • Applicants should have achieved a minimum of 50% of the score in English subjects.

For MBA & M.Tech:

  • Applicants should have cleared their Graduation (10+2+3).
  • Applicants should have achieved a minimum of 60% of the score in total for the PCM subjects.
  • Applicants should have achieved a minimum of 50% of the score in English subjects.
  • The applicants who are married will not be eligible for the entrance test.
  • The applicants must have a passport as a mandatory document for the IMU CET.

For B.Tech (Marine Engineering)/ B.Sc (Nautical Science):

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have cleared their 12th level exams from a recognized board.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score 60% marks in PCM & minimum 50% marks in English in class 10th/12th. In the case of SC/ST, there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks (not in English).
  • Age Criteria: Applying a candidate’s age must be between 17-25 years as of academic year. 5% relaxation for ST/SC.

For B.SC (Ship Building and Repair):

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed their 10+2 level exams from a recognized board.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates must score 50% marks in PCM & minimum 50% marks in English in class 10th/12th. In the case of SC/ST, 5% of relaxation will be given in eligibility marks (not in English).

For MBA:

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have done a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized board or university.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates are required to score a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in qualifying subjects and 50% marks in English subject.

IMU CET 2020 Exam Pattern

The information related to the paper pattern is listed below for this entrance exam:

  • This entrance exam will be computer-based which means it will be conducted online.
  • The paper will have only MCQ type questions.
  • The total number of questions in the paper will be 200 questions.
  • The applicants will get 3 hours to complete the paper.
  • Each correct answer will get one mark, and there will be no negative marking as per the university.
  • The question paper will be released only in the English
  • The complete exam will be for 200 marks.
  • Exam mode: IMU CET 2020 will be held only through Online (computer-based) mode.
  • Questions Type: The questions in the test will be of MCQ’s type.
  • Some questions: There will be a total of 200 questions for UG and 120 questions for PG test.
  • Time: 3 hours will be given to complete the paper.
  • Marking Scheme: 1 mark will be allotted for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: There will be no negative marking for the wrong answer.

IMU CET 2020 Exam Result

The results of the entrance exam will be broadcasted in June (tentatively) this year (2020). The concrete date of announcement of the result will be updated on the official website. The applicants have to check their result online by entering their credentials and the required details like roll number & DOB of the applicant.

The university decides the cutoff marks, and that completely depends on the number of applicants applied for the exam. The applicants who have been selected for the counseling have to register themselves for the counseling first.

The registration for the counseling completely depends on the release of the merit list. The applicants have to carry the original documents and certificates on the 1st day of the counseling.

The applicants who fail to do so will be rejected, and their admission will be canceled. The counseling complete process includes the verification of the documents, medical fitness, etc.

Candidates are required to get themselves registered for admission in various campuses as per their choice. Also, candidates have to download their counseling letter pay counseling fee to participate in the counseling session.
