JEE Main 2019: Application Form, Date, Syllabus, Eligibility, Pattern

JEE Main 2019 Registration has been Started from 1st September 2018. This exam offers admission in BE/B. Tech and B.Arch/B.Plan courses. NITs, CFTIs and various other colleges and institutions of India consider the JEE Main scores for providing admission.JEE Main 2019 Mock Test has been Started.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main will be conducted by the NTA from 2019 onwards. This Examination was being conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) till 2018.

JEE Main is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs participating though Central Seat Allocation Board subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the 12th class examination, or be in the top 20 percentile in the 12th class examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the 12th class examination.

New Changes Introduced Last Year

MHRD, Government of India had notified several changes in the JEE Main entrance exam. Below we have listed the new changes introduced this year:

  • The merit list for admission to engineering colleges via JEE(Mains) will be based on percentile scores and not raw marks
  • JEE (Main) is the qualifying examination for those intending to sit for JEE (Advanced) for admission to IITs
  • From 2019, a JEE-Main aspirant will also, for the first time, have the choice of taking the test
  • There is no need to verify the 12th class roll number.
  • For online mode exam, students can book their slot.
  • Top 2,24,000qualified students of JEE Main are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.
  • CBSE board has identified 258 exam centers which include 248 exam centers in India and ten centers in abroad countries.
  • Diabetic students can take sugar tables, fruits and the transparent bottle of water at the exam center.
  • Normalisation procedure based on percentile score to arrive at the NTA score has been based on the format in practice for the undergraduate-MBBS test conducted by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.
  • From 2019, a JEE-Main aspirant will for the first time have the choice of taking the test twice (January and April cycles).

JEE Main Application Form 2019

JEE Main 2019 Application form has been started from 1st September 2018 (JEE Main I), and the Last date for application submission is 30th September 2018.

If candidates forget to enter details in the application or want to make any corrections in the form they can do from 2nd to 4th week of January 2019.

  • Candidates can apply online for JEE Mains 2019 exam.
  • JEE Main 2019 (January Session) Registration has been started from 1st September 2018 (JEE Main I).
  • Fill all details and upload the scanned images of passport size photograph and signature of candidate & mother’s/father’s/guardian.
  • Photograph dimension should be 3.5 x 4.5 cm, and dimension of the signature should be 3.5 x 1.5 cm.
  • Uploading images should be in JPG or JPEG
  • The application will be rejected if candidates fill Multiple applications
  • There is no provision to send the hard copy of the application.

Application Fee:

Candidates have to pay application form fees as described in form and must keep print copies of it for further needs.

Once candidates pay application form fees, it will be not refunded or transferred back to any candidates.

  • The application fee will be different as per the categories and mode of examinations.
  • Fee payment will be done through credit/debit card.
  • Candidates can also pay the fee through e-challan of Syndicate/Canara/ICICI bank.
  • The fee will not be accepted through DD, money order, IPO, etc.
  • The application fee will be nonrefundable.

JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria 2019

Before applying for JEE Main 2019 exam candidates must check full eligibility criteria and should check whether you are eligible to apply or not.

JEE Main 2019 eligibility criteria contain Age Limit, Attempt Limit, and Qualification Criteria. Check according to courses selected wisely. Candidates must ensure their eligibility before applying for the JEE Main exam. Candidates can check the eligibility criteria from below:

Age Limit:

  • The date of birth should fall on or after 1st October 1994.
  • For SC/ST & PWD candidates, the DOB should fall on or after 1st October 1989.

Attempt Limit:

  • Candidates can attempt for maximum three times for the JEE Mains exam.
  • Attempt limit is the same for all the categories.
  • For JEE Advanced, candidates can appear for a maximum of two consecutive

Qualification Criteria:

Qualifying Exam10+2 or equivalent exam passed in 2017 and 2018 are eligible to apply.
Appearing CandidatesCandidates appearing in the 12th exams in 2019 can apply.
Diploma HoldersDiploma candidates can also apply but only for admission in IITs. Such candidates also have to appear for JEE Advanced exam.
Minimum MarksThere is no minimum mark required to apply for JEE Main.
For admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIsCandidates have to secure 75% (65% for SC/ST) in 12th exams or be in top 20 percentile of the respective board.
The number of SubjectsCandidates must have five subjects in the 10+2 exam. Candidates should have physicsmathematics, language, anyone from the Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject and any other subject.
Year of AppearanceCandidates who have passed 12th exams in 2016 is not eligible to apply. Students who have appeared in 12th exams in 2016, did not give in 2016 but passed in 2017 are not eligible to apply.

JEE Main 2019 Exam Pattern

Candidates should know the JEE Main exam pattern and syllabus of JEE Main 2019. The exam will be conducted on online (computer based) and offline (pen and paper-based) mode for paper 1 and Paper 2 exam will be performed in offline mode only.

Complete JEE Main 2019paper within three hours. The examination will comprise of two papers, i.e. paper 1 (for B.E/B.Tech) and paper 2 (for B.Arch/B.Planing). The detailed exam pattern for both papers is mentioned below:

  • Exam Mode: The examination will be organized in both online (computer based) and offline (pen and paper-based) mode for article 1.
    • Paper 2 will be conducted in offline mode only.
  • Type of Questions (Paper 1): The question paper will comprise of objective type
  • Type of Questions (Paper 2): Mathematics and aptitude section will be of objective type questions, and drawing test will be subjective.
  • Duration: The total exam duration will be three hours.
  • Medium: The question paper will be asked in English and Hindi language for all exam cities and English, Hindi and Gujarati languages for exam cities in Gujarat, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
  • Marking Scheme: Four marks will be provided for each correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

JEE Main Syllabus 2019

Candidates have to prepare for the exam from the prescribed syllabus by authority.JEE Main 2019 syllabus will contain topics from the 11th and 12th class of CBSE, ICSE, and other state boards.

Question asked in the paper for paper one will be from the syllabus which contains physics, chemistry, and mathematics and for Paper 2 syllabus will contain mathematics, aptitude and drawing sections.

Candidates must prepare for the exam from JEE Main 2019 syllabus.

Sets, relations and functions, Matrices and determinants, Mathematical induction, Sequences and series, Integral calculus, Binomial theorem and its simple applications, Vector algebra, Statistics and probability, Trigonometry, Complex numbers and quadratic equations, Mathematical reasoning, Permutations, and combinations, etc.

Physics:

Physics and measurement, Thermodynamics, Rotational motion, Laws of motion, Electronic devices, Oscillations and waves, Current electricity, Electromagnetic induction and alternating currents, Optics, Electrostatics, Kinematics, Work, energy and power, Gravitation, Properties of solids and liquids, Kinetic theory of gases, etc.

Chemistry:

Physical Chemistry: Some basic concepts in chemistry, Atomic structure, Chemical Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Chemical kinetics, States of matter, Chemical bonding and molecular structure, etc.

JEE Main Paper 2 Syllabus:

Part I: Awareness of persons, places, Buildings, Materials, Visualising three-dimensional objects from two-dimensional drawings, Visualising, Analytical Reasoning Mental Ability (Visual, Numerical and Verbal), etc.

Part II: Understanding and appreciation of scale and proportion of objects, building forms and elements, color texture, harmony and contrast, Transformation of forms both 2 D and 3 D union, subtraction, rotation, Creating two dimensional and three dimensional compositions using given shapes and forms, etc.

JEE Main Admit Card 2019

To download the JEE Main 2019 admit card candidates have to get their application form register successfully. Admit card will be available from the 17th December 2018 (for January Session). and 18th March 2019( for April Session)

  • Candidates can download their JEE Main 2019 admit cards even can book their slot from online mode.
  • Candidates have to enter their Application Number, Date of Birth and Security Code to access the page.
  • Candidates have to carry there anyone photo ID proof along with the admits card.

JEE Mains 2019 Answer Key

Authority will issue the JEE Main answer key 2019 after the few days of completion of the examination.

  • JEE Main 2019 Answer Key will be released in the last week of April 2019.
  • JEE Main answer key 2019 along with images of OMR sheets will be released on the official.
  • Fill application and Pay Rs. 1000/- per question to challenge the answer key.
  • Candidates can pay through debit/credit card.

JEE Main Result 2019

JEE Main 2019 result will be issued by authority on official portal of JEE Main. JEE Main 2019 result will be Declared on 31st January 2019 (JEE Main I Examination ) and  Result will be Declared on 30th April 2019 (for JEE Main II Examination).

  • Candidates can check their result only through online mode.
  • It will also contain the All India Rank and All India Category Rank.
  • Candidates will be not dispatched JEE Main scorecard.

JEE Main Rank List 2019: 

  • JEE Main Rank Predictor 2019 will be Check after result Declaration.
  • A rank list will be prepared as per the marks scored in the JEE Main examination.
  • It will be released separately for paper 1 and paper 2.
  • Admissions will be given as per the rank scored in the entrance test.
  • Tie-breaking criteria will be applied if two or more candidates obtain equal marks.

JEE Main 2019 Cut Off

JEE Main 2019 examination cut off will be published through online mode. Candidates can check cut off marks along with the results in the last week of April 2019.

Candidates who score equal to or above the cut-off marks have to appear in the All India centralize counseling. Candidates have to check cutoff marks as per category wise.

JEE Main Counselling 2019

After the release of the result; the Board will announce the detailed schedule of JEE Main 2019.

Separate schedules will be announced for All India Rank and advice at the state level.

  • The counseling process will take place in the third week of June 2019.
  • JEE Main 2019 Counseling the will be done through online mode.
  • A centralized council will be organized by JoSAA and CSAB on different tours.
  • To appear in the forum, candidates must register themselves.
  • After that, candidates must complete their college and course preferences.
  • By the choices made, the rank, the category and the availability of places, a temporary assignment of the seats will be announced.
  • After that, candidates must download their provisional assignment letter from the seat and pay the seat acceptance fee.
  • After paying the fees, candidates must go to the declaration center to verify their documents.
  • Once the report center confirms the entries, candidates must report to the designated university for an additional admission process.
