JEE MAIN 2022 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality:

Age limit:

• For the entrance exam only those applicants who are born on or before 1st October 1997 (1st October 1992 for SC / ST / PWD category applicants). 

Number of Attempts:

• The applicants can apply for the JEE Main Entrance exam three times only. 

Educational Qualification:

• Applicants who have completed the HSC examination with a 10 + 2 system of education from a known state board are eligible to apply

Minimum Marks:

• The General category applicant should have scored a minimum of 75 % marks in the HSC exams and that of the Reserve category applicant like SC / ST should have scored a minimum of 65 % marks in the qualifying exam. 

Mandatory subjects:

• The applicants must have completed their HSC Exams with a minimum of five subjects as Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Technical Vocational Subjects or any other subject as mandatory subjects. 

JEE MAIN 2022 Exam Pattern

The applicants are recommended to go through the official website of the university to get the details about the JEE MAIN 2022 Exam Pattern of the entrance exam. 

• Number of Papers: The JEE Main 2022 entrance exam will contain two papers.
• Paper 1 will be conducted for B. E / B. Tech course admission
• Paper 2 will be held for B. Arch / B. Planning course admission
• Mode of Exam: The JEE Main 2022 entrance exam will be conducted in both online and offline mode (written test and computer-based test).
• Duration of Exam: The JEE Main 2022 entrance exam will be held for three hours duration only. 
• Language of Exam: The JEE Main 2022 entrance exam will be held in two languages that are English and Hindi language. (the paper will also be held in the Gujarati language for the exam centers like Gujarat, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli) 
• Type of Questions: The entrance exam will contain Objective Type Multiple choice questions only. 
• Marking Scheme: Each correct answer given in the entrance exam will be awarded 4 marks. 
• Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer given by the applicant in the entrance exam. 

Paper 1:

• Mode of the exam: Paper 1 will be held in both Online – computer-based test and offline mode – written test pen and paper-based. 
• Type of questions: The question paper will contain Multiple Choice questions only. 
• Subjects: The question paper of Paper 1 will be based on three subjects that is Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics 
• Total Marks: The question paper of Paper 1 will contain maximum of 120 marks for each subject
• A total number of questions: The applicants will have to appear 30 questions in each subject. 

Paper 2:

• Mode of the exam: Paper 2 will be held in offline mode only – written test pen and paper-based. 
• Type of questions: The question paper will contain Multiple Choice questions along with subjective type questions. 
• Subjects: The question paper of Paper 2 will be based on three elements and parts mentioned below.
  • Part I – Mathematics (30 questions for 120 marks)
  • Part II – Aptitude Test (50 questions for 200 marks)
  • Part III – Drawing Test (2 questions for 70 marks)
• Total Marks: The question paper of Paper 2 will contain maximum of 120 marks for Part I, 200 marks for Part II, 70 marks for Part III
