JoSAA 2019 7th Round Seat Allotment Result has been Released on 18th July 2019. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2019 would be set up by the Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) to regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 97 institutes.
The JoSAA 2019 shall be valid for the academic year 2019-2020. It is a counseling platform to allocate seats in around 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs, and 20 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes. Other than this, no separate counseling will be held by these 97 institutes rather JoSAA is to be adopted as the single admission method.
For this, candidates must clear JEE (Main) 2019/ JEE (Advanced) 2019. Along with that, eligibility criteria must be checked.

JoSAA 2019 Application/ Registration
- JoSAA 2019 Registration has been Available online mode through the official portal at josaa.nic.in
- You will need to click the active link which will take you to the registration portal.
- Step-1- Enter JEE 2019 Roll number and password. And login using these credentials safely.
- Step-2- verify all the details and now change the password. You can also modify the details pre-filled on the given page.
- Step-3- fill the “Choices Available” from the given list
- Step-4- Lock the choices. You will also be able to arrange the selected choices by you. Keep the order as per your priority of institute. (Without locking the choices, the entry will not be accepted)
- If you forget to lock the choices, then the last entered order will be taken into consideration. Therefore, give due attention to locking choices.
JoSAA 2019 Eligibility Criteria
All the candidates must ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria irrespective of the fact that they have ranked any position in the entrance examination. Let us see the criteria:-
- Candidates must have qualified JEE Main 2019 for admission in NITs, IITs, and GFTIs.
- For admission in IITs, the registering candidate should have secured an acceptable rank in JEE Advanced 2019
- Both JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advanced 2019 qualifiers should possess a minimum of 75% in 12th class or should have a secured a position among the Top 20 percentile.
- The same criterion for reserved category (i.e., SC/ST/PwD is 65%)
JoSAA 2020
Joint Seat Allocation Authority is the conducting body of JoSAA 2020 Examination to offer admission to the candidates in various engineering programs at 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs and 23 Other-Government Funded Technical Institutes (Other-GFTIs) on the basis of marks of the candidates. The JoSAA 2020 Application Form will be started from the second week of June till 3rd week of June 2020.
JoSAA 2019 Seat Allotment procedure
- After the result announcement of JEE Main and Advanced 2019, JoSAA will announce the dates by when candidates will need to complete their registration for the single platform, i.e., JoSAA 2019 Counseling.
- While registering candidates will have to provide their desired institute and course and JEE Rank and Score.
- Then, post registration date expiring, JoSAA will upload the closing and opening ranks institute wise.
- The entire procedure takes place in ONLINE mode.
- Candidates are alloted seats in the institute and programme based on the choices presented by the applicants. However, the final decision rests with the authority.
- If the candidate is satisfied with the alloted college and course in Round 1, then they are required to reach the allotted college and complete document verification and pay the fee as per their category.
- If there are still seats left, then, another round is held. Consequent rounds are held until all seats are allotted.
- Last year, seven rounds of seat allotment were held.
Required Documents for submitted At Allotted Centre
- Candidates will be required to indicate the acceptance of the seat in the form of physical presence at the allotted the center.
- For acceptance, you will also be required to bring the ORIGINAL documents along with a set of self-attested photocopies to the reporting center.
- After verification, the photocopies of the documents shall be retained by the center and originals will be returned.
Required Documents by NITs and Other GFTIs:-
- Three passport size photographs (similar to the one uploaded during JEE Main 2019 registration).
- Registration-cum-locked choices for seat allotment
- JEE Main Admit Card and Score Card 2019
- 12th class board mark sheet
- 12th class performance check (format will be given by the authority in Annexure 7 of JoSAA 2019 rulebook)
- Birthe the date proof (class 10th marksheet)
- Provisional seat allotment letter
- Proof of seat acceptance fee payment (in the form of e-challan or internet banking of SBI
- Seat acceptance fee as per last year for the unreserved category was- Rs. 45,000/-
- Seat acceptance e fee for reserved category (SC/ST/PwD) was- Rs. 20,000/-
- Undertaking by the candidate
- Medical certificate
- OCI certificate or PIO card
- PwD certificate (if applicable)
- Category certificate
- Identity proof [issued by govt. agency/last attended school/Class XII admit card]

Candidates applying for IITs have to bring some extra documents other than the mentioned above. Let us take a look at those.
