Karnataka PGCET exam is an abbreviation for Karnataka Post Graduate Common Entrance Test, this is a University that offers courses like degree, diploma and certificate programs at M.Tech. The programs offered at Karnataka PGCET University include Masters in Engineering.

Admit Card for Karnataka PGCET
Karnataka PGCET online slot booking 2018-2019 will be available in the third week of June. The applicants can download their admit card in the month of June to appear for Karnataka PGCET Entrance Exam. The date and time and venue of the test and test centre will be mentioned in the admit card. All the details of the applicants will also be printed on the admit card.
All the applicants are requested to carry a supportive document with them as the proof of their identity to Karnataka PGCET examination hall. In the case of discrepancies, they could consult the Karnataka PGCET University officials.
Admit card will be available to the applicant after the slot booking only. The size of the Admit card should be the A4 size of paper.
The admit card of Karnataka PGCET will be available online on the official website of the GITAM. The applicants are requested to download the Karnataka PGCET Admit card in the form of pdf. The admit card should also be preserved till the admission procedure is complete.
The applicant needs to carry the admit card of Karnataka PGCET to the examination centre along with the identity proof. Without admit card and the identity proof the applicant will not be allowed to enter the exam hall. Without the admit card the applicant will be disqualified.
Application forms for Karnataka PGCET
The Karnataka PGCET application form are available only in online mode. Applicants can fill the form the third week of May. All the applicants are required to fill the form in order to appear for Karnataka PGCET.
When the applicant is filling the application form, details regarding the applicant’s personal, academic, contact information and more had to be submitted. GATE qualified candidates were required to fill the GATE details.
Applicants had to also upload their photograph, signature and left thumb impression while filling the application form. Also, applicants have to do a proper review of the application form before signing the declaration and submitting the complete form.
Online application form, fill the form from the official website of the Karnataka PGCET. The official website has a link to the application form. The candidate has to go that link and further fill the details asked in the application form. A print out should be taken out of the application form after the form is completely filled.
Once the application form is filled no changes are allowed to be made in the form. The online form will be considered completely filled iff the application fees is paid.
Criteria for Karnataka PGCET
There are certain rules or conditions set by the official authority of the Karnataka PGCET which an applicant needs to satisfy to appear for the Karnataka PGCET. The applicants can look for all the eligibility criteria one needs to satisfy and should contain all the documents proving that applicants satisfying those criteria.
Here are some of the criteria which an applicant should satisfy:
- Academic Qualifications: The applicants should have qualified B.Tech from an institute recognised by the state of Karnataka.
- Marks Requirement: In their qualifying examination, the general category applicants should have secured an aggregate of 50% marks whereas the reserved category applicants should have scored 45%.
- Domicile: Should be residents of Karnataka or the parents of the applicants should have resided in the state for at least seven years. The applicants should have also studied at least seven years in one or more Government or Government recognised institutions of the state commencing from 1st standard to the qualifying examination either continuously or in the broken period.
- GATE 2017: The applicants who are applying to GATE and have qualified marks should be able to produce their scorecard.
Karnataka PGCET Exam Pattern
Karnataka PGCET is held offline entrance examination that is the exam is based on the concept of pen and paper.
The time duration to solve the exam paper will be 150 minutes for the complete Karnataka PGCET.
The Exam will be multiple choice question examination.
The total number of questions will be 75. There will be 2 sections and 1 mark will be allotted to each MCQ type questions of the first section whereas 2 marks are allotted to MCQ type question of the second section.

Karnataka PGCET Result
Karnataka PGCET Result 2018 for postgraduate engineering programs. The result will be announced in the month of July. The result will be announced online. To access the result, the applicant will have to enter their admit card number and registered date of birth.
After the Karnataka PGCET result, a Merit list will be prepared on the basis of this Karnataka PGCET result.
The result of Karnataka PGCET will be prepared purely on the basis of marks obtained in the Karnataka PGCET Entrance Exam. Karnataka PGCET result will be the basis for admission in the University.
There will be two merit list prepared one for those who appeared for GATE and another fo those students who have not appeared for GATE. According to these merit lists, the further admission processes are done.
Applicants should download the result and should preserve the score till the admission procedure is complete.
Karnataka PGCET Counselling
The applicants scored marks, which are above the cutoff, are eligible for the admission procedure in the Karnataka PGCET. The student who got the result and is selected will be now called by the Karnataka PGCET University for the further counselling process.
The schedule for counselling will be announced by the Karnataka PGCET official website since the schedule is made by the official authority.
At the time of counselling, the applicants will require carrying all the necessary documents with themselves. The candidates should carry the documents for the verification purpose.
The counselling process will be held in the month of August 2018. The applicants should carry the original as well as photocopies of all the documents. All the applicants who are done with documents verification are given a verification slip and a unique keyword. The applicants will have to log in with their application number and unique keyword to fill their choice preferences. Selection of courses will be done by the applicants only. The course will be allotted according to the rank of the applicant in the merit list.
Firstly, there will be a mock allotment, which will give an applicant the idea about the course allotment process. Finally, those candidates who satisfy all the criteria will get selected for their preferred course.
Those candidates who have qualified GATE will be given more preference over the applicants who have not. After the successful allotment of seats, the applicants will have to report at their allotted institute for admission confirmation and payment of fees.
At the time of counselling, those applicants who want to take the admission into Karnataka PGCET should be present in the centre where they have been called. If by any reason the applicant fails to be present on the called centre the seat of the candidate will be allotted to another aspiring candidate.

Karnataka PGCET Application fees
There is different charges applied to all of the different entrance exams. Karnataka PGCET exam is one of them and requires application fees to be paid.
The application fees should be paid by e-challan which is generated if the applicant wants to pay the fees offline. The print out of the challan had to be taken and the payment of the application fees had to be done at any branch of State Bank of Mysore.
If the applicant wishes to pay the application fees online then, the applicant can also pay it online via net banking/credit card/debit card was also accepted.
