KSET is referred to as the Karnataka State Eligibility Test which is organized by the Government of Karnataka to ensure that teaching standards are maintained for courses taught at the Higher Secondary level in the state of Karnataka.
Candidates have to give the KSET 2019 Exam to be appointed as Higher Secondary School Teachers as well as Non-Vocational Teachers in VHSE.

KSET 2019 Application Form
From the 3rd February 2020, Application Form has been released, and the Last date for Registration is the 6th March 2020.
- Candidates have to fill and submit the KSET 2019 application before the due date mentioned on the website.
- Candidates can get the KSET 2019 Application Form from the Official Website.
- The KSET 2019 Application Form is available via Online mode through the website.
- Candidates needed to fill all the required details in the Application Form carefully.
- After filling all details, candidates have to upload the scanned images of recent colored passport size photograph, signature & other documents in the application.
- Candidates must keep the printout of the filled Application Form and fees slip.

KSET 2020
The KSET 2020 Exam is managed by the University of Mysore and this examination is conducted to select the students for the post of lectureship/Assistant Professor in Karnataka.
Applicants will be recruited for Lecturers / Assistant Professors of concerned Universities / Colleges / Institutions (Government/ Aided /Private) of Karnataka State after qualifying this examination.
Step 1: Fill the KSET Application Form
Aspirants need to apply for the KSET 2019 Application Form on the official website of the test. All candidates need to submit their Application Form and pay the fee to receive the Site Access Key as well as Application Number.
Step 2: Download KSET Admit Card
Aspirants have to Download KSET 2019 Admit Card from the official website of the exam. To download the KSET admit card, candidates need to fill details such as their – Application Number and Date of Birth/Site Access Key.
Step 3: Appear for KSET
Candidates need to appear for KSET 2019 exam as per the time and test center details mentioned on their admit card.
KSET comprises of two test papers which are of 120 minutes each. Paper-I is standard for all aspirants whereas Paper-II consists of questions as per the candidate’s specialization.
Step 4: Check KSET Result
Exam results for KSET 2019 would be announced on the official website of the teacher eligibility test. Candidates can check their KSET results by filling in their Application Number and Date of Birth/Site Access Key.
KSET 2019 Eligibility Criteria
Applying once candidates must check the KSET 2019 Eligibility Criteria so they will get to know whether they are eligible to apply or not.
For more information candidates have to look below the given criteria table and following.
- Candidates meet KSET 2019 Eligibility Criteria if they possess a Master’s degree in a specific subject with not less than 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade.
- Apart from this, aspirants should have a B.Ed degree in any discipline from any university in Karnataka or possess these qualifications from any other university which is considered to be at par with these universities.
- However, there are some exceptions to the above-mentioned Eligibility Criteria for KSET 2019 exam, and these exceptions are listed below:

Or Have MSc Ed degree in Life Science with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade from any Regional Institutes of Education |
Anthropology, Commerce, French, Gandhian Studies, Geology, German, Home Science, Journalism, Latin, Music, Philosophy, Psychology, Russian, Social Work, Sociology, Statistics, and Syriac | Possess BEd degree |
English | Possess II class Master’s Degree in Communicative English with at least 50% marks as well as BEd degree. |
Hindi | “Candidates who have acquired BEd Degree in Hindi conducted by the Dakshin Bharatha Hindi Prachar Sabha are exempted from the requirement of producing the equivalency certificate, as the degree has been recognized by the Universities in Karnataka”, informs the official website. |
Latin | Cleared their degree exam in any discipline (from any University in Karnataka or recognized as equivalent) with Latin as their second language under Paper II wherein they have secured at least 50% marks. These Eligibility Criteria hold only if the aspirants have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks for that Part II. |
- Aspirants are informed that they do not meet the Eligibility Criteria for KSET 2019 if they have secured their qualifications through Correspondence Courses/ Open Universities which are not recognized by anyone of the Universities in Karnataka.
- Also, “candidates who have acquired their qualifications through recognized correspondence courses/Open universities should obtain and furnish certificates of recognition and equivalency from any one of the Universities in Karnataka”, states the official website.
Note:
- Aspirants who possess their Master’s degree with minimum required marks to meet SET Eligibility Criteria but are currently in the final year of their BEd degree program also meet KSET 2019 Eligibility Criteria. Similarly, candidates who have secured their BEd degree and are in the final year of their postgraduate program also meet the Eligibility Criteria.
- The official website informs: “Such candidates must produce the Certificates of their qualifying examinations passed with the minimum required marks within one year from the date of publication of the results of the test, failing which they shall be treated as disqualified”.
KSET 2019: Marks Relaxation for SC/ST
Aspirants who want to appear for KSET will be granted 5% marks relaxation in the minimum marks they need to possess in their qualifying exam to be eligible to appear for SET.
KSET Age Limit
There is no prescribed age limit for aspirants who want to appear for the state eligibility test.
KSET 2019 Exam Pattern
KSET 2019 entrance exam will be held on 12th April 2020.
- KSET 2019 entrance exam is divided into two papers which are of two hours duration each.
- The question will be in objective type multiple choice questions asked in the KSET 2019 examination.
- KSET 2019 exam pattern is such that the test is divided into two papers which are of two hours duration each.
- Both the KSET papers comprise of objective type multiple-choice questions.

KSET 2019 Marking Scheme
- For every correct answer in both, Paper I and Paper II, aspirants will be awarded one mark.
- The only exception being for Mathematics and Statistics subjects in Paper-II wherein each correct answer leads to 1.5 marks being added to an aspirant’s total marks.
- There is no negative marking in KSET 2019 exam.

- Candidates must get familiar with the exam pattern and syllabus of the KSET 2019 exam and be updated regarding the KSET 2019 exam.

KSET 2019 Syllabus
Candidates must prepare for the exam from the prescribed KSET 2019 syllabus by the authority.

In the paper I question will be from subjects General Knowledge (Part A) and Aptitude in Teaching (Part B), in paper II there will be 33 subjects (All subjects except Maths & Statistics) and For Mathematics & Statistics.
KSET 2019 Admit Card
Candidates will be able to download the admit cards which have successfully submitted their application.
The availability of the KSET 2019 Admit Card will be informed on the official portal as well as all national dailies.
- The admit card contains details like the candidate’s name, roll number, exam date, time, exam venue and other details.
- Candidates must note that all candidates have to carry valid admit cards to their allotted test center on the day of KSET.
- The KSET hall ticket is a mandatory document so keep it safe.

Authority will publish the KSET 2019 Results on the official website of the LBS center.
- Candidates can check their results through online mode. Candidates will be appointed as Higher Secondary School Teachers and Non-Vocational Teachers in VHSE on the bases of the KSET 2019 result.
- Candidates will be shortlisted for admission by candidates marks scored by them in the examination.
- Candidates are suggested to take the printout of the result for further admission process.
KSET 2019 Admission process
