NEET stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. This is the examination given by the candidates for taking admission in the Medical courses like BDS and MBBS. Candidates who qualify from the NEET Examination can take admission in many different colleges. The colleges can be government-owned as well as non-government owned medical colleges. After the law passed by the supreme court, whether it is government-owned or it is non-government owned both have to follow the NEET Examination Results. Because of NEET, the candidates will get their seats as per their rank. The rank can be in All India level or State level. Before NEET examination, the private Colleges would conduct their own Entrance exams according to their rules and regulations. But, from now the private medical colleges are not allowed to conduct medical examinations entrance test. The colleges have to select the candidates through a counseling process as per their rank and score.

Below is the List of Private medical colleges under NEET examination. To get seats in these colleges the candidates have to get a qualifying scoring marks in NEET examination. The qualifying in the NEET examination, candidates have to fill the choice filling form and give three college preferences for admission.

Ranking Method

The candidates should also note that the ranking provided is based on private ranking sources. Primarily it is i.e., the ranking is based on last year’s ranking provided to medical colleges by various education publications and websites.

The tentative ranking is used as there is no formal method for ranking available for the medical colleges in the Country. Also, the candidates should note that the seat breakup is available not only for the general category but also for other reserved category candidates. On average, 20 percent of the total seats available to all India category are reserved for SC, ST, and OBC category students.

State-wise NEET Examination

As per the orders were given by the supreme court, there will be a single entrance exam conducted all over India for admission in the medical courses in many different colleges.

This exam is for seeking admission in the MBBS or BDS courses. No private institute, University, or College will be able to conduct their own medical entrance examination and thus will accept the students based on NEET score.

Some states have already conducted their own State-wise medical exams. Out of total 100 percent, 85 percent of seats are already conducted through the state-wise examination, and the rest 15 percent is remaining for the NEET score.

The States like Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir have completely opted out of NEET.

Last year NEET was conducted in 2 phases, that is NEET Phase 1 and NEET Phase 2 for the allotment under 15% All India Quota and other seats (Govt Colleges) on the basis of NEET Counselling for the following seats

  • MBBS – 3521 seats
  • BDS – 299 seats
