NEST 2019 is organized to offered admission in 5 years of the integrated M.Sc program. Admission is offered to candidates by the National Institute of Science Education & Research (NISER), Bhubaneshwar and University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences, Mumbai.

NEST 2019 Counselling 

Admission through NEST 2019 will be allotted on the strict basis of merit list. NEST 2019 Counselling will be Started on 2nd July 2019, held in offline mode means pen and paper-based mode.

  • Candidates have to report to the counseling venue at the specified date & time.
  • At the time of NEST 2019 counseling candidates have to submit all original certificates for verification.
  • The candidates have to participate in an admission/counseling process strictly according to the merit list issued.

List of Important Documents: 

  • Mark sheet of Class X board exam (original & photocopy).
  • Mark sheet of Class XII board exam (original & photocopy).
  • Birth certificate/ school leaving certificate (original & photocopy).
  • Four passport size colored photographs.
  • Demand draft in favor of NISER, payable at Bhubaneswar/ Demand draft in favor of CBS, payable at Mumbai, depending upon counseling invitation.
  • Non-creamy layer OBC certificate, if applicable (original & photocopy).
  • Disability certificate, if applicable (original & photocopy).
  • Proof of Indian citizenship, if born outside India (original & photocopy).
  • Caste certificate, if applicable (original & photocopy).
  • Verification certificate, if applicable (original & photocopy).
  • If a candidate has submitted original documents to another institute, he/ she must bring the official letter (undertaking) from that institute.

NEST Result 2019 

After a few days of examination, the result has been Available on official websites by authority. NEST 2019 result has been available on 18th June 2019.

  • A merit list will be prepared on the bases of candidates score marks in the entrance exam.
  • It will be prepared after the declaration of result and posted on NEST 2019 website.
  • A unique rank will be assigned to the candidates in the merit list.
  • NEST 2019 Cut off will be released after the result.

NEST Admit Card 2019

 Admit Card NEST 2019 has been Available on 24th April 2019. Candidates can download the admit cards from the official portal through online mode.

  • Applier candidates have to bring they are admitted card along with school photo ID card or any other photo ID issued by Government agencies to the examination hall.
  • It is necessary to keep safe one copy of admit card because the successful candidates have to produce the admit card in original during admission.

NEST Application Form 2019

The Application form will be Available from 7th January 2019 and Closing of application form is 18th March 2019.

All candidates have to fill and submit NEST2019 application form before the due date.

It is advised to the applying candidates that first read the complete information brochure and then fill the application form.

  • To fill Online 2019 Application Form candidates have to make register online on the official websites.
  • NEST 2019 Online Application Status has been Released on 19th March 2019.
  • NEST 2019 Online Application Form has been Released on 7th January 2019.
  • Candidates have to fill NEST application form till 18th March 2019 (Extended).
  • Candidates have to fill the academic and personal details, after click on ‘Registration’ and ‘Login’.
  • Candidates have to fill the exam city preference while filling the application form.
  • After filling all detail,s candidates have to upload the digital copy of passport size photograph and scanned image of the signature in .jpeg or .jpg format (size limit: 100 kb).
  • Keep a printout of filled application form after the submission of application fee.

Application Fee: 

Fill all details and submit application fees before the due dates. Candidates have to pay application form fees as category wise.

Payment can be made through SBI payment gateway or by online mode.

  • The application fee for the male candidates of General and OBC categories is ₹1,200/–
  • The application fee for candidates in the SC/ST/PwD categories and for all female candidates is ₹600/–
  • Payments can be made using a credit card/debit card/net–banking through the online payment gateway.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should know the eligibility criteria of NEST 2019 entrance exam before applying. If any candidates fail to know criteria they may face difficulties at registration. Eligibility criteria are provided which

contains Qualifying Exam, Subjects, Minimum Marks and Age Limit etc.

Candidates must satisfy the eligibility criteria given below to be eligible to sit in the NEST 2019 entrance exam.

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from any recognized Board in India in the years 2017 or 2019 or be appearing for the same in 2019.
  • Subjects: Candidate should be from regular science stream with the only combination of at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics in classes XI and XII.
  • Minimum Marks: Candidates must obtain at least 60% marks in aggregate in the class 12th examination. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories, the minimum requirement of marks is relaxed to 55% in aggregate.
  • Age Limit: General and OBC category candidates should bear on or after August 01, 1999.
  • The age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

NEST 2020

The NEST 2020 Exam is managed through NISER, Bhubaneshwar and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai and this examination are conducted to offer admission to the candidates in MSc Program in Basic Sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. In the Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country, the admission will offer to the candidates through this examination. From 1st week of January, the NEST 2020 Application Form will release and till 2nd week of March, it will be ended.

NEST Exam Pattern 2019

Exam of NEST 2019 will be held through online mode means computer-based mode. The Exam will be Held on 1st June 2019. The complete paper within 3 hours, no extra time will be provided to any candidates.

  • Mode: The exam will be conducted through online (CBT) mode.
  • Duration: The exam will be of about 3 hours.
  • Type of Questions: Objective (MCQ) type questions will be asked in the exam.
  • Total Marks: The question paper will be of 230 marks.
  • Language: The language of question paper will be English only.
  • Sections: The question paper will consist of 5 (five) sections, each of the section will be 50 marks but the general section will carry 30 marks.
  • Negative Marking: No negative marking in section 1. There is negative marking for answering wrong in other sections.

NEST 2019 Syllabus

The NEST 2019 Exam Syllabus will be published by the conducting authority on their website. The NCERT/CBSE science syllabus of class 11th & 12th is followed by the NEST 2019.

There is no specific syllabus prescribed by the authority for the general section. The exam is organized to test the candidate’s aptitude for a career in science and some question will be asked to test the candidate’s general ability to comprehend qualitative and quantitative aspects of a given scientific passage.

For subject sections, the questions will be asked from the respective subject.
