The responsibility of the exam comes under the National Institute of Science Education and Research Bhubaneswar and Mumbai University – the Department of the Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences.his is a national entrance screening test conducted every year to offer admission into 5 years of Integrated M.Sc programs in Biological, Mathematical, Chemical, and Physical sciences.

NEST Application Form 2020
Applying candidates can check the NEST Registration 2020 details from below:
- First, candidates have to register themselves with a valid user email ID on the website.
- NEST 2020 Application Form has been started on 8th January 2020.
- The NEST 2020 Online Registration Notification has been released on 4th January 2020.
- In the next step, candidates have to fill in their basic details. After this, an application number will be generated for further login.
- Candidates have to submit the application form until the 14th of June 2020.
- Scanned images of signature and photograph (maximum 100 KB) will be uploaded by the candidate in JPEG format.
- Before the final submission of the application form, candidates are informed to verify all the details filled by them.
- Make the fee payment via online
- Don’t forget to take the printout of the application form for further use.
NEST 2020 Application Fee
- Candidates can make payment using any Credit/Debit card or through Net banking.
- The application fee will be Rs. 1200/- for Male (General and OBC) and Rs. 600/- for SC, ST, and female and PWD candidates of all other categories.
- For General and OBC Male Candidates – Rs.1200/-
- For ST/SC/PWD/Female Candidates – Rs.600/-
NEST 2021
The NEST 2021 Exam is managed through NISER, Bhubaneshwar, and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai, and this examination is conducted to offer admission to the candidates in MSc Program in Basic Sciences – Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. In the Department of Atomic Energy and other applied science institutions in the country, the admission will offer to the candidates through this examination. From the 1st week of January, the NEST 2021 Application Form will release, and by the 2nd week of March, it will be ended.
NEST 2020 Eligibility Criteria
The basic Eligibility Criteria to appear on the NEST 2020 Exam are listed below:
Age Criteria
- General & OBC Candidates: They should born on or after August 01, 2000.
- SC/ST/PD candidates: There are five years of age relaxation for SC/ST/PD candidates.
- Minimum Marks: Secures at least 60% in aggregate in the XII standard board examination. The Minimum 55% Marks Necessary for SC/ST Category.
- Qualifying Subjects: Applicants must pass in 10+2 (12th Exam) with PCM or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics).
- Age Criteria: The Applicants must have born on or after 1 August 2000, and For ST/SC Category Applicants should be Provided an age per relaxation of 5 years.
- Appearing candidates: Candidates who appear in the final year examination can also apply.
NEST 2020 Qualification Criteria
- Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 standard or equivalent exam.
- Subjects: Candidates should have a combination of any three subjects from the following Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics/Biology as subjects.
- Minimum Marks: Candidates must score 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent in the 12th standard (55% in case of SC/ST/PD categories).
- Appearing Students: Candidates who appear in the final year examination can also apply.
NEST Exam Pattern 2020
- Exam Mode: It will be conducted in Online Mode (CBT Based).
- Total Marks: The whole question paper will be consisting of 230 marks.
- Negative Marking: There is no negative marking in the General section. However, negative marking is applied in the subject section.
- Language: The question paper will be published in the English language only.
- Type of Question: There will be objective (MCQ) questions that will be asked.
- Duration of Exam: The total exam duration will be 3 hours.
- Sections: There will include five sections, each of 50 marks but the general section will carry 30 marks.

NEST Syllabus 2020
There is no fixed program for the General section.
- Normally, the curriculum follows the NCERT and CBSE curriculum for classes 11 and 12.
- The questions are designed to test the candidate’s knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, computing, and the environment.
- There will be other questions that are designed to test mathematics up to the 10th grade.
- Questions in NEST will be mainly based on the NCERT/ CBSE science syllabus of class XI and XII.
- However, NISER and UM-DAE CBS of Mumbai University have provided detailed NEST Syllabus.
- Candidates are recommended to go through each topic of the NEST Syllabus thoroughly to perform well in the M.Sc entrance exam.
How to Prepare for NEST 2020
Planning and dedication are the keys to do well.
- First all plan a timetable for study keeping in mind your strengths and weaknesses.
- Allocate sufficient time for study, revision, and solving of sample papers.
- Sample papers are an essential component of NEST preparation. They not only prepare you for the exam but also help you to assess your preparation. Most of all do not worry and stick to the basics always.
- Find out all the details of the syllabus prescribed by the authority.
- Plan your study schedule according to the syllabus.
- Give equal time to all subjects.
- Check the previous year’s question paper to know the exam pattern.
- Take a healthy diet and do exercise and yoga.
NEST Exam 2020 Admit Card
NEST 2020 Admit Card has been available on 2nd September 2020. Candidates who have applied for NEST 2020 are informed that NEST 2020 Admit Card is issued online through the official portal of NEST 2020.
The hall ticket has not been dispatched via post or e-mail.
Applicants can download their Admit Card after logging into the official portal of the NEST. Through Admit Card, students can check details of the assigned test center with complete address details.
NEST 2020 Answer Key
NEST 2020 Answer Key has been available on 5th October 2020. The Answer key is released through Online Mode.
Candidates can get the idea that’s how many marks aggregate in their result/ Score Card.
The Answer key will be published in 2 sets; A Category & B Category, If Candidates any doubt in the answer key then students can be Objection with Correct Documents.
NEST 2020 Result
Appeared candidates can check their results on 13th October 2020. Candidates can download the NEST 2020 Result from the website.
The authority will prepare a separate merit list for providing admission. Candidates are suggested to keep the printout of the result and preserve it for further admission process.
The Qualified Candidates in the entrance exam there will be Shortlist published in the Merit list. After the Qualify applicants should be called for Counselings/Admission procedure. but candidates should pass with an overall 90 out of 180 marks.
NEST 2020 Cut Off
NEST 2020 Cut Off will be published online After some days of the exam. Candidate has to obtain minimum passing marks successfully in the Exam then the candidate is eligible for Counselling and further admission process.

NEST 2020 Counselling
The NEST 2020 Counselling process will be organized in different offline stages. The counseling process of NEST 2020 will start after the selection of candidates and the release of the merit list. Counseling of NEST 2020 is conducted in Online Mode.
It is compulsory to qualify for admission examination to M.Sc programs offered by NISER and UM-DAE CEBS.
Students must report to the counseling location on the date and the date specified.
Applicants must bring the original documents with them at the time of advice.
At the time of the counseling process, the candidate has to provide necessary documents for the Documents verification process.
