NID 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to check eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for NID entrance exam for BDes/GDPD course admissions states that candidates who have pass or who will be appearing for their higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examination from any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, etc.) from any recognized board such as CBSE, IB, ICSE can also apply for the exam. Candidates will find below NID Entrance Exam eligibility criteria for BDes & GDPD course admissions.

General Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Indian and foreign nationals in overseas are eligible to apply.
  • Appearing: Candidates appearing in their qualifying exam are also eligible to apply provided they have to submit the proof of passing during admission.
  • Age Limit for B.Des/GDPD: Applying candidate maximum age should be 20 years as on 30 June 2020. ST/SC/OBC candidates will get three years of age relaxation while PwD will get five years of age relaxation.
  • Age Limit for M.Des: Candidate’s maximum age limit should be 30 years as on 30 June 2020. ST/SC/OBC candidates will get three years of age relaxation while PwD will get 5 years of age relaxation.

For B.Des & GDPD Programme 

  • Age limit: The prescribed upper age limit is 20 years on or before 30 June 2020 (3 years relaxation for reserved category).
  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates who have Passed/Appearing 12th examination from the recognized educational board are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates appearing the qualifying examination have to submit the proof of passing the test at the time of admission.

For the M.Des Programme 

  • Age limit: Maximum age limit is 30 years as on or before 30 June 2020. Relaxation of 3 years shall be given to the reserved category.
  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates who have passed/appearing a bachelor’s degree in any discipline under the 10+2+4 (or more) system are eligible to apply.
    Or
    Diploma in design under 10+2+4 system.
    Or
    Candidates passed the bachelor’s degree (in any discipline) before July 2019 under the system 10+2+3 are eligible to apply.
