NID Admission ProcedureNID 2020 Final Results for M.Des has been Declared on 22nd August 2020. The Final Results for B.Des/GDPD has been Declared on 24th July 2020. National Institute of Design Entrance Exam in short NID 2020 Entrance exam through this exam candidates can enter into Bachelor of Design (B.Des), Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GD PD) as well as Master of Design (M.Des) programs. Candidates will be granted admission by their performance in the NID Design Aptitude Test. It is a National Level Entrance Exam.

Candidates who are shortlisted have to appear in NID DAT (Prelims) and NID DAT (Mains) admission round. Candidates who have clean NID DAT (Prelims) is a written design aptitude test conducted by NID whereas NID DAT (Mains) comprises of a Studio Test and Interview round will be offered admission in design programs provided at colleges accepting NID entrance exam scores for admission.

NID Application Form 2020

All candidates who are interested can fill the NID Design Aptitude Test Application form on the official website of NID. Through Online mode, candidates can fill the application form. After applying successfully for the exam, candidates need to upload their supporting documents, signature, and photograph. Fill and apply for the due dates as specified.

  • NID 2020 Application Form has been released on 1st October 2019.
  • Candidates can be filled Application Form till 18th November 2019 without late fee (Extended).
  • Candidates can be filled Application Form till 21st November 2019 with late fee (Extended).
  • NID 2020 Application Editing has been started on 21st November 2019.
  • Candidates applying for NID have to firstly register by entering details like mobile number, email ID, DOB, etc.
  • After that, a candidate can log into their accounts using email ID and DOB.
  • Fill in all the required details.
  • Upload scanned photograph and signature as per instructions.
  • Candidates for SC/ST categories have to upload their caste certificate while Persons with Disability (PWD) category candidates are required to upload disability certificate in the prescribed format.
  • At last, make the payment and take the printout of your filled-in application form.

Keep print copies of filled application forms for further use.  After all process candidates need to pay the NID admission application fee. NID 2021

NID 2021 Examination (DAT) is conducted through the National Institute of Design to provide admission to the candidates in various B.Des/GDPD and M.Des Courses. In the various campuses of NID across India, the admission will provide to the candidates. The NID 2021 Application Form will be started from 1st week of October till the last week of November.

NID 2020 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to check eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria for NID entrance exam for B.Des/GDPD course admissions states that candidates who have passed or who will be appearing for their higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examination from any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, etc.) from any recognized board such as CBSE, IB, ICSE can also apply for the exam. Candidates will find below NID Entrance Exam eligibility criteria for BDes & GDPD course admissions.

General Eligibility:

  • Nationality: Eligible Candidates can be Apply this Form Indian applicants as well as Foreign Country applicants.
  • Appearing: Their Exam is Available for eligible candidates who have to appear the Qualifying Examinations and Provided to Currently evidence at the during Admission time.
  • Age Limit for B.Des/GDPD: Before Apply Application form limit age should be count 20 years between 30th June 2020. Another candidate will get three years of age relaxation & For PwD Candidates get provided for 5 years.
  • Age Limit for M.Des: The Applicants maximum age limit should be 30 years as on 30 June 2020. ST/SC/OBC candidates will get three years of age relaxation while PwD will get 5 years of age relaxation.

For B.Des & GDPD Programme 

  • Age limit: The prescribed upper age limit is 20 years on or before 30 June 2020 (3 years relaxation for reserved category).
  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates who have Passed/Appearing 12th examination from the recognized educational board are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates appearing the qualifying examination have to submit the proof of passing the test at the time of admission.

For the M.Des Programme 

  • Age limit: Maximum age limit is 30 years as on or before 30 June 2020. Relaxation of 3 years shall be given to the reserved category.
  • Qualifying Examination: Candidates who have passed/appearing a bachelor’s degree in any discipline under the 10+2+4 (or more) system are eligible to apply.
    Diploma in design under 10+2+4 system.
    Candidates passed the bachelor’s degree (in any discipline) before July 2019 under the system 10+2+3 are eligible to apply.

NID Exam Pattern 2020

The NID conducts the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) candidates have to complete it in a three-hour duration, and the total weight of the exam will be 100 marks. The Entrance exam is in offline mode means pen and paper-based tests. The medium of question paper of NID DAT is English. The question paper will be comprised of both objectives as well as in subjective questions.

The main aim of the NID DAT (Prelims) test is to check candidates’ abilities such as Knowledge Comprehension, Analysis, Creativity, and Visualisation. NID DAT exam is divided into two parts they are I and II. Multiple Choice Objective Type questions and its weight is 70 marks in NID DAT Part I., And part ll paper questions will be subjective type questions, and the weight of that section will be 30 marks.

  • Parts: DAT Prelims will be conducted in two parts. DAT Mains for M.Des will consist of two parts: studio tests and interviews.
  • Exam Mode: It is a pen and paper-based test.
  • Type of Questions: The part-1 will include the multiple-choice questions while part-2 is of subjective type.
  • Total points: There will be a total of 100 points each for DAT Prelims and DAT Mains.
  • Exam Duration: The time assigned to answer the DAT prelims question paper is 2 Hrs 5 min hours.
  • Language: The question paper language will be English only.
  • Negative Marking: There is no negative marking.

The Pattern for DAT Prelims:

  • Exam Mode: Exam will be conducted through offline mode.
  • Type of Questions: Questions in the paper will be of an objective and subjective type.
  • Total Marks: The paper will be of a total of 100 marks.
  • The language of the Exam: The entrance exam will be conducted in English
  • Duration of Exam: A total time of 4 Hrs 5 min (30 minutes for CDAT and 2 hrs. each for a discipline-specific test) will be given to complete the test.
  • Marking: There will be no negative marking in the entrance exam.

Patten for DAT Mains:

DAT Mains will be held in two parts:

  • Studio Test: The DAT Mains Exam will be held in Various Types in English. Completed the over Exam Marks will be 100 marks & 4 hrs 5 min Duration in the entrance Exam.
  • Interviews: After the Test will be Organized Interview for Different disciplines.

About DAT Prelims 

the B.Des/GDPD DAT Prelims Paper will Consist of an Examination of 3 Hours Duration and 100 marks. The Test will be held on Paper and Pencil/Pen Test, Conducted at the Same Time on the same day across all test centers.

Total Duration of DAT Prelim 4.5 hrs. (30 minutes for CDAT and 2 hrs. each for a discipline-specific test).

  • Exam pattern plays a significant role in exam preparation. Understand the syllabus and exam pattern.
  • Candidates can also go through the past year’s question papers to know about the difficulty level of the exam.

NID Admit Card 2020

NID 2020 Admit Card has been available on the 20th December 2019 through Online Mode for DAT Prelims. Candidates can get Admit card before Exam held, through the login.

NID Admit Card will be Provided the two phases Admit Card – 1st  Mains Examination & 2nd Prelims Examination. M.Des DAT Mains Admit Card has been available on 20th June 2020 & 14th April 2020 Available for B.Des Exam.

Those candidates who have successfully submitted their application, the authority will post the NID entrance exam to the candidate’s specified address in December.

Candidates have to contact to NID Admission Cell immediately if they didn’t receive they have admitted cards for entrance. Candidates will be able to download they are admitted cards for the second phase of the admission test from February/ March. Carry it at the examination hall.

NID Answer Key 2020

Candidates can obtain the NID 2020 Answer key after the end of the exam. The NID 2020 response key will be reported after the few days of the written exam. It will be published by the institution through the online mode.

With the help of the answer key, candidates can get a rough idea of the grades they will get on the exam. Applicants can also send their objection regarding the official response key, if applicable.

NID Result 2020

NID Entrance Exam 2020 Result has been declared Online for DAT Prelims on 4th May 2020. The M.Des Result has been Declared on 21st February 2020. The results of DAT Mains has been declared on 24th July 2020. Candidates can also have check their own result through own Applicant login ID.

Candidates who have appeared entrance exam can check their results after a few weeks of the exam. Authority of NID will announce the result for NID DAT. Candidates have to be present for round whose name is shortlisted for NID (Mains).

Candidates will be able to download the results official website at NID. Before that candidates have to provide details such as their email address, date of birth, roll number/application number.

NID Entrance Exam 2020 Merit List

Candidates can check the merit list after the Result Declaration with Qualifying Exams of Prelims. And now Qualified Candidates can get Admission in 2020 Examination shortlist.

Final merit will be prepared based on the weightage scores obtained in each stage of the admission process. In prelims, a weightage of 30% will be given, and 70% weightage will be given for mains.

NID Entrance Exam 2020 Cut Off

To qualify the entrance test and get admission, candidates have to score cut off marks. The NID 2020 cutoff marks to be scored for various categories is provided in the below table:

NID 2020 Admission Procedure will be started on 5th June 2020. The  Seats will be Distributed or Allotment after full filled at the Admission Registration form. In the order of merit of the candidates in the list of merits, they must send their consent to the institution. The seats will be assigned to the candidates according to the availability of seats in the participating institutions. To be eligible for seat allocation, applicants must upload their documents to the institution’s website for verification.
