NIFT 2018: Counselling Registration, Schedule, Choice Filling & Admission
Latest Applications Open 2020:
NIFT 2018 Counselling has been started now. The NIFT is a national level entrance examination which is organized by the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai in the major cities of the country. This exam is a perfect gateway to get admission in different UG and PG professional programmes in fashion technology & design field. For admissions in NIFT courses, firstly candidates have to clear the written entrance exam and after that candidate has to go through the situation test/ group discussion/ personal interview rounds.
The authority has released the applications for the year 2018. Candidates seeking admissions to undergraduate programmes in design and fashion technology have to download the Admit Card of NIFT 2018 for appearing in the entrance exam, which has been available from January 21 onwards in the online mode.

NIFT Counselling 2018
- The counseling for (situation test) for B.Des will be organized on 29th & 30th April 2018.
- All the qualified candidates must necessarily participate in NIFT 2018 counseling to get admission.
- The registration for situation test can be done till 12th April 2018.
- Candidates should download their call letter for situation test from 13th April 2018.
NIFT Admission 2018
- NIFT 2018 admission (counseling registration) has been Started on 22 Oct 2018.
- NIFT 2018 admission will start after the declaration of result and merit list.
- At the time of admission, candidates have to carry original as well as photocopies of all the prescribed documents for verification purpose.
NIFT Result 2018
NIFT 2018 Result has been declared on End of May/June 2019. For B. F. Tech programmes, GAT scores will be considered as a final result. For B. Design programme, candidates qualifying GAT and CAT will be shortlisted for Situation Test scores. And, finally, the results will be prepared by GAT, CAT and Situation Test. The merit list of NIFT 2018 will be prepared by weight as mentioned below –
- NIFT 2018 result has been declared on End of May/June 2019.
- The result will be declared online on the official website of NIFT.
- The result of B.F.Tech will be prepared by GAT only.
- Des result will be prepared by GAT, CAT and Situation Test while M.Des result will be prepared by GAT, CAT, GD/PI.
- The final result of MFM and M.F.Tech will be declared on the basis of GAT and GD/PI.
NIFT 2018 Admit Card
The NIFT 2018 Admit Card is available from 10th January 2019. Candidates who have successfully registered for the NIFT exam, can download their admit card through the official website of NIFT. Candidates note down that the admit card will not be sent by post.
NIFT 2018 Application Form
- Candidates get the NIFT 2018 Application Form via online process through the website.
- There was not any other mode available to fill and submit the application form.
- The application fee was Rs.1500/- for General/OBC (Non-Creamy) Category and Rs.750/- for SC/ ST/ PHP candidates.
- Candidates have to pay Rs.5000/- in case of late registration.
- The fee payment was done through online payment gateway or demand draft (DD) of any bank.
- Candidates filling the application after the last date have to submit the late fee of Rs. 5000/- in addition to the application form.
- After filling the form completely, candidates may take the printout of filled-in application for references.
- Candidates are also advised to retain the proof of payment.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must comply with the eligibility criteria before applying:
Eligibility for undergraduate courses:
- The maximum age should be 23 years as on 1st October 2018 for general candidates.
- Five years relaxation will be given on maximum age limit for SC, ST or Differently Abled Person (PHP) candidates.
- Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent exam from any recognized central/state board.
- Candidates who have cleared 3-4 year diploma recognized by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education are also eligible to apply.
- Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply.
Eligibility for postgraduate courses:
- There is not any minimum or maximum age limit for master programmes.
- For M.Des and M.F.M programme, candidates must have passed an undergraduate degree from any institution/university recognized by law in India.
- For M.F.Tech course, candidates should have cleared B.F.Tech. From NIFT or B.E/B.Tech from any institution/university recognized by law in India.
- Candidates appearing in qualifying examination are also eligible to apply

NIFT 2018 Exam Pattern
- Mode of Exam: This exam will be conducted in offline mode (pen and paper mode).
- Negative Marking: There will be no provision of negative marking.
- Papers: This exam has been divided into two parts GAT (General Ability Test) and CAT (Creative Ability Test).
- No. of Questions: Total 150 questions will be asked in GAT test.
- Language: The GAT question paper will be asked in the English language.
- Duration: The test duration will be 2 hours (120 minutes).

How to Prepare?
- Know your syllabus – Candidates must know NIFT syllabus.
- Make time table according to syllabus – Allotting time for each subject.
- Make Notes – Notes is significant thing which helps you to revise your syllabus quickly.
- Practice Regularly – Give at least 4 to 5 hours daily to get good marks.

NIFT Exam Centers
