It was established in 1956 under the Ministry of Education by the Government of India to propagate Sanskrit studies, traditional Sastras and Pedagogy.

- National Sanskrit University 2024 Application Form has been Released for UG & PG Courses.
- Candidates can obtain the RSV 2024 Application Form and Prospectus from The Director, Directorate of Distance Education, National Sanskrit Universitya, Tirupati – 517 064.
- After that DD for Rs.200/- (Rupees two hundred only) drawn in favor of The Registrar, RSVP, Tirupati.
- Filled application form by candidates should be submitted to the Directorate on or before the last date specified.
The following documents are to be enclosed along with the filled-in application –
- The attested copy of Degree or Provisional Certificate.
- Certificate in proof of Date of Birth.
For DES – X class or equivalent certificate in which date of Birth is mentioned (attested copy)

For OUS – Certificate of Date of Birth issued by an Affidavit signed before a Magistrate or a Notary mentioning the Date of Birth of the applicant.
- Identity Card duly filled in with stamp size photo affixed.
- Attested copy of caste certificate in case of SC/ST applicants.
- Filled-in acknowledgment card with duly stamped. Certificate from a Guru/Teacher under whom the candidate is getting instruction in a particular subject chosen in Acharya.
- Certificate about the ability to read & write Sanskrit.
