Saad Miya Khan, IAS UPSC Topper 2018, Rank 25 Interview, Biography, Marks

Saad Miya Khan 1

Of the 990 candidates on the final list of Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams, 41 Muslims achieved the result this year with Saad Miya Khan who has already been trained at the Jamia Millia Residential Training Academy Islamia, occupying the twenty-fifth rank.

The number of Muslim candidates is lower than last year but comparatively better if we take into account the results of recent years.

In 2017, 51 Muslims passed the exams, in 2016, 36, whereas they were 38 in 2015, 34 in 2014 and 30 in 2013.

The selected UPSC candidates are recommended for various government positions, including the India Foreign Service (IFS), the India Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Police Service (IPS) and many other services.

Although Muslims make up 13.4% of the total population, they are unfortunately represented in major government departments, often due to lack of education and lack of available resources. They represent about 2% in the civil services.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) reported the final results of the public service exams for 2017 on Friday afternoon. Durishetty Anudeep from Hyderabad passed the exam. Others in the top five are Anu Kumari, Sachin Gupta, Atul Prakash and Pratham Kaushik.

Of the 990 candidates selected, 476 are in a general category, 275 in OBC, while 165 and 74 are in the SC and ST categories respectively.
