TISSNET 2018 Result has been declared on 27th January 2018. TISSNET is referred as Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test and it is a National Level Examination. TISSNET is managed by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS). Admission is granted to candidates on the basis of TISSNET score only as the Institute does not accept CAT/MAT/GRE/GMAT etc.

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) managed the TISSNET entrance exam for candidates. Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test is a full form of (TISSNET) and it is a national level examination. Through this exam, candidates can enter into various postgraduate (MA) courses which are offered by the TISS campuses situated at Mumbai, Hyderabad, Guwahati & Tuljapur.

TISSNET Application Form

TISSNET application form is available in online mode. Candidates can fill application form from the Last week of September, and the Last Date of Form Submission is 1st or 3rd week of March. Candidates who want offline application form they will get from Speed Post by sending an application request with application fees to Assistant Registrar (Academic), TATA Institute of Social Sciences, Deonar Mumbai, 400088.

The candidate is advised to fill the application form before the due date. Candidates have to fill all detail as in given brochure and also have to upload the scanned images of photograph, signature, and thumb impression in the application. Candidates have to bring all required document which is mention below for verification and registration. Candidate must keep a print copy with them for future reference and verification.

Below is given few detail of TISSNET exams application form:

  • Candidates will be able to get the TISSNET registration form for UG courses through online mode only.
  • For PG courses, the application form will be available in online and offline mode.
  • TISSNET Application Form will be issued from the Last week of September 2017.
  • Candidates can fill the application till 3rdweek of March 2018 (for UG) & 1st week of December  (for PG).
  • Students will get the offline application form by Speed Post through sending an application request with application fees to the given address:

Documents Required to submit along with the Application:

  •  Graduation Mark sheets (for UG courses)
  • Caste Certificate (SC/ST category)
  • Non-creamy Layer Certificate (OBC category)
  • Certificate of Disability for Person with Disability (PWD)
  • Bona-fide Certificate from candidates, those are in the final year of the degree (for UG courses)
  • Income Certificate (SC/ST/OBC (NC) category)
  • One stamp size photograph.

Application Fee:

Paying application fees is possible in online as well as offline mode. A candidate who wants to pay by via online process can pay by net banking/ credit/debit card. Candidates are advised to keep printed copies of filled application form for further process/use. Candidates have to application form fees according to their candidate’s category wise. Once the candidates pay application fees that amount will not be refunded back. The candidate is requested to fill and submit an application before the due date.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate should know full eligibility criteria for TISSNET exams. Sometimes candidate fails to know eligibility criteria that harm them in further at the time of admission process. Eligibility criteria such as age criteria, Qualification criteria, and Nationality, etc. Candidates must know such basing detail for admission. Below is given TISSNET exams eligibility criteria of BA. Programmes and M.A Programmes.


Students can check their eligibility for BA and MA programmes below:

For BA Programmes:

  • Qualifying Exam: Students have to qualify the 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from any recognized board.
  • Age Limit: Students age should be less than 23 years at the time of taking the Bachelor’s Admission Test
  • Appearing students are also eligible.
  • Students those qualify their academic qualification in the International Baccalaureate Diploma and will be completing the 10+2 examination by June 2018 are also eligible to apply.

For M.A. Programmes:

  • Qualifying Exam: Students must hold the bachelor’s degree in the pattern of 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+2+2+1 from any recognized university.
  • Students, those will satisfy all the requirements of their bachelor degree examination by 10th June 2018 are also eligible.

TISSNET Exam Pattern

Candidates are kindly requested to go through the TISSNET exams pattern and syllabus before preparing for exams. The exam will be conducted in online mode (computer-based test). Candidates appearing for UG courses will be given 90 minutes to complete paper, and for PG courses 100minutes will be given to complete paper.


The supervisors will give no extra time any candidates’. In exams, a question will be asked from the General Knowledge, Analytical Ability, Logical Reasoning & English Proficiency. Below is provided UG and PG courses exams pattern

The exam pattern is given here:

For UG courses:

  • Mode of Exam: The exam will be conducted through online mode (computer-based test).
  • Duration of Exam: The exam duration will be 90 minutes.
  • Total Marks: The question paper will be of 100 marks.

  • Negative Marking: No negative marking for the wrong answer.

TISSNET Admit card

Candidates can check TISSNET admit cards with the help of online mode. Authority will publish admit cards in official portal. Admit cards will be available from the 4th week of March for UG programme and For PG courses, the admit card will be available from the 4th week of December. Candidates who successfully submitted their application can only download their admit cards.

If the candidate wants to download admit card he/she have to enter “USER ID” & “Password” in official portal of TISSNET. It is candidates responsibility to keep safe their admit cards.

Candidates are advised to keep printed copies of admit cards for further use. All appearing candidates must bring admit cards with them at the time of exams. If a candidate fails to bring he/she will not be allowed to write the paper in the examination hall.


How to Download the Admit Card

Candidates can follow the given simple steps to download TISSNET exams admit card/hall ticket:

•           Visit the official link of TISSNET (link is provided above).

•           Log in by entering your Email ID, DOB & Roll No. or your Application Number & Verification Code.

•           Click on ‘Submit’ button.

•           Now, admit card displays on the screen.

•           Download and take the printouts of admit card for further references.



Candidates can check online result in official portal published by authority. The result will be available in online from 2nd or 3rd week of May (For UG) & 2ndweek of February 2018 (For PG).If candidates want to check result in online he/she have to visit the official portal of TISSNET and have to enter “Application Number” & “Password”.

If candidate type incorrect detail page will show the error for correct page type correct detail on the website page. Those who want to save a page in laptop/computer or can take the screenshot of a page for further use. Candidates are suggested to keep printed copies of result for further use and admission process.   • Enter verification code and click on ‘Submit’ button.

TISSNET Answer Key

Candidate can check TISSNET answer key which iis publishedby authority on official portal through online. By entering “Roll Number” & “Question Booklet Number” candidates can check answer key. After giving the exam, candidates starts look for the correct answers from their text books or even on Internet answer key is the way which show all correct answer with the detail.

With the help of the TISSNET Answer Key, the candidates will be able to crosscheck their answers written by him in exams hall and also can estimate their scores. TISSNET Selection Procedure

The selection of the candidates will be based on two stages, i.e. entrance exam & PIT/PI rounds. These rounds will be started from 3rd March 2018.On the basis of the performance in the examination, shortlisted candidates will be invited for the Pre Interview Test and Personal Interview (PIT/PI). For PG courses, the weightage for the General & reserved category should be 50% for TISSNET, 30% for PIT & 30% for PI.

Seat will be allotted to candidate as per the choice filled by students rank and availability of seats in the respective college. Or according to merit list prepared candidate will be invited in counseling. Candidate for have to bring original documents with the photocopies for registration. If candidate have given incorrect document for registration and found in scrutiny application will be cancelled.

TISSNET cut off marks will be released in online mode . Cut off marks will be declared after the exams is over. Every college have different fix cut-off marks once it is changed by directories authority no one can change it again.. Candidate has to obtain minimum marks to proceed for the further round of admission procedure.

Difficult level of examination number of candidates appeared, total candidates qualify the exam, etc according to that cut off marks will be set. Before the result announced, cut off marks will help candidate to estimate their marks. And also help to select their favorite college institution according to their marks.

If candidate score above cut-off marks for admission candidates have to face the Pre-Interview Test and Personal Interview rounds for admission. Cut-off marks are given according to category wise. Candidates are suggested to read previous years cut-off marks which will give rough idea to score above it.
