The TNEA 2020 imparts the first year and B.E./B.Tech degree courses to the students at the University Department, university colleges, and government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges for admission through Self Financing Engineering Colleges.

Through TNEA, Admission is offered in undergraduate programs of B.E and B.Tech. A number of colleges located in Tamil Nadu accept TNEA Scores to provide admission in the offered engineering programs. The students will have to check the schedule of the exam from the article given below

Documents to be enclosed with the Application Form

Documents enclosed with the application form:

  • Sheets of 10th and 12th marks
  • Transfer certificate
  • Certificate of permanent community
  • Class ticket HSC / 12th
  • Custody certificate only in the electronic format / digital certificate digitally signed (if applicable)
  • First graduate certificate and first joint undergraduate report
  • Tamil refugee certificate from Sri Lanka
  • Relevant documents showing evidence of army personnel

Application Fees

  • The applicants belonging to general categories will need to pay RS 500.
  • The applicants belonging to reserved categories will need to pay RS 250.

TNEA 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The exam pattern of TNEA 2020 includes certain perimeters such as domicile, age limit, and many things by which the students will be considered. Hence, it is suggested to check the complete Examination Criteria before filling the application form.

  • The students need to bear passing certificate of High School in PCM/B stream.
  • They must attain at least 50% marks in the 12th class examination
  • Their eligibility will be considered only when they have a permanent domicile in the state.
  • Students who are belonging to other states will have to send a DD with RS. Five thousand to the director of the university to be considered for this exam.
  • The students who are wards of the Central government, public sector or All India Services will be applying. Nevertheless, they need to produce the proof residency of 5 years in the state.
  • The students belonging to the reserved category will get the seat at the university.

General Eligibility

Nativity

  • Candidates who have passed their 10+2 level exams from schools located in Tamil Nadu can apply.
  • Candidates from outside Tamil Nadu state can also apply by showing their Nativity Certificate only in the form of digitally signed E-Certificate or Electronic Form.
  • Those who are children of Central Government Employees are also eligible for admission.
  • Candidates of other states who have completed their 10+2 level from Tamil Nadu state are also eligible.

Qualification Criteria

  • Qualifying Exam: Applying candidate must have passed their 12th level exam or its equivalent from a recognized Board or University.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidates must have passed their HSC exam with a minimum of 50% marks (For OBC – 45%; For ST/SC/DNC/MBC/SCA – 40%).
  • Qualifying Subjects: Candidates must have passed his 10+2 level with the subjects of Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry.

Course Wise Eligibility

For Marine Engineering

  • Qualifying Exam: Candidate must have passed his/her 10+2 level exam or its equivalent from a Recognized Board.
  • Qualifying Subjects: He/she must have passed his 10+2 level with Mathematics, PhysicsChemistry and English as main subjects.
  • Qualifying Marks: Candidate must have passed with a minimum average of 60% in PCM subjects and 50% in English subject.
  • Age Criteria: Applying candidate should be of a maximum of 25 years.

TNEA 2020 Exam Pattern

Applicants must know the exam pattern in mind while applying for this examination. As there can be no syllabus specified by the university for the examination.

  • The distribution of question paper will be in the objective. In other words, they will need to choose the correct answer from the options available.
  • The question paper will be consisting of 150 questions.
  • The students will have 150 minutes to finish the exam.
  • There will be no negative marking in this exam.
  • The question paper will be adorned in the English language.
  • The exam will consist of 3 sections of Physics, Chemistry & Math/Biology on 12th

TNEA 2020 Admit Card

The authority will generate the h admit card on the same website for students who have eligible after filling the application form and making the payment.

  • They need to get it from the official website of the university as you are not going to receive it by post or mail.
  • The downloaded copy of admit card will be used at the time of exam and counseling sessions.
  • The admit card will have all the necessary information for the students and the exam.

TNEA 2020 Result

The result will be available after the exam is conducted. The scorecard will carry marks and rank of students required of students.

  • The merit list is designed as per marks gained by students in the exam.
  • The scorecard is used at the time of admission as their copies.
  • The result will be declared as scorecard which will bear your marks attained in the exam.
  • The scorecard will be used to determine the eligibility of students for admission rounds.

TNEA Cut-Off 2020

To be admitted to the university and its affiliated institutions, candidates must arrive at crossing points. Break marks are the minimum scores that will be established from the admission that will be offered to candidates.

It is prepared by various parameters, such as the number of registered candidates for the exam, the availability of places in the participating institutions, etc.

Cutting marks will be published by Anna University. The university will declare court marks on its website in online mode. Candidates can check it and register for admission.

TNEA Rank List 2020

A list of common merit will be prepared by the university by which the council will be held. Candidates can check the website’s ranking list. The TNEA 2020 classification list will be published in the fourth week of June 2020.

The merit list will be prepared after receiving the candidate’s application form. By the notes submitted by the candidates, the list of merit will be prepared by the authority. A unique random number will be assigned to the candidates to participate in the consultation.

Allocation of seats

Allocation of the seats will be based on the category wise reservation following the rules of Government of Tamil Nadu. This given detail is based as per the last year details. The following table shows the rules of reservation-

TNEA 2020 Counselling

The counseling sessions will be held as per the decision of the university.

Students will be required to produce all the documents of eligibility proof at the time of the counseling round. TIt will be compulsory to bring the photocopies of Admit card and the result of the exam when appearing for counseling. The authority will distribute the seats to selected students by the marks secured in the examination. The university will be going by this pattern to give the seats to the students.

Before participating in the counseling, the process candidate must download their call letter. The counseling process will be organized in five rounds. Candidates will have to choose their course of preference and colleges.

Also, the counseling fee has to be submitted by the candidate by cash or demand draft. Candidates have to bring the original and photocopies of their required documents/testimonials for the document verification process.

TNEA Admission 2020

The TNEA 2020 admission process will take place after the completion of the consultation. Applicants must declare to the designated institution on the prescribed date with the provisional admission letter.

To obtain final admission, candidates must bring their original documents for verification at the time of admission. Candidates must also pay course fees at the time of final admission.
