LAWCET is an abbreviation for Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test and the Kakatiya University, Warangal, on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) conducts TS LAWCET. It is a state level examination. TS LAWCET 2018 Application Form has been extended till 23rd May 2018. It is organized for admission to undergraduate law courses in the state law colleges of Telangana. TS LAWCET 2018 examination will be held on 25th May 2018.

The admission to law colleges of Telangana can be taken by qualifying TS LAWCET. There are different law colleges in the state offering various law college seats for the postgraduates of TS LAWCET. The entrance exam that is TS LAWCET will be conducted in offline mode. The Instructions, Rules, and regulations are decided by the Kakatiya University and in compliance with all the rules and regulations of TSCHE and the relevant Government orders in place.

There are certain criteria that the candidate needs to satisfy even after passing the examination TS LAWCET. These are Eligibility Criteria and set as per the rules of government in TS LAWCET and is the way to admission in Law courses of the state.

TS LAWCET Admission conducts entrance based admission to law courses. The admissions to postgraduate law colleges in Andhra Pradesh was taken on the basis of TS LAWCET earlier. After the split in state and formation of Telangana, the LAWCET also got split state wise. Now for TS LAWCET is for the Telangana state and AP PGLCET id for the Andhra Pradesh state. The center for the last unified LAWCET was Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. TS LAWCET exam has been conducted by Kakatiya University since long.

TS LAWCET Result 2018

Students are informed that TS LAWCET 2018 result will be declared on 18th June 2018.TS LAWCET Result 2018 for undergraduate law courses.  The result will be announced online on the official portal of TS LAWCET by Kakatiya University.  The result will consist of the merit list by marks of the candidates.

The answer key is providing from 28th May 2018. Candidates can submit their objections till29th May 2018. The candidates will be called by merit list for the counseling. The TS LAWCET authority releases result for different courses provided by the university. The TS LAWCET sets some cut off which says 35% qualifying marks for general students are required and no minimum marks for SC/ST candidates.

The correct number of questions answered by the candidate will decide the result. There will be a total of 120 questions and candidate will be able to tick maximum correct out of it. Applicants should download the result and should preserve the score till the admission procedure is complete for further use in TS LAWCET.

TS LAWCET Application forms 2018

TS LAWCET application form is available in online mode. The University appoints authorities to conduct the centralized online counseling for the academic session of TS LAWCET 2018-19. All the applicants are required to fill the form to appear for TS LAWCET courses. TS LAWCET exam or application form is released by the Kakatiya University. Online application has been started from 25th March 2018.

The application fees can be paid by the candidate via online mode. Here are few points about TS LAWCET application form:

  • The correction window is opening from 17th May 2018.
  • Candidates who want to apply for TS LAWCET 2018 exam are required to apply only through the online process.

 The candidates filling the application form should make sure that they are filling the correct information otherwise they will not be allowed to sit for the examination. There are certain documents that are required during TS LAWCET application form filling. This application form filling includes documents such as scanned copies of their signature and passport size photograph.
The application form of TS LAWCET will demand information like gender, mobile number, parents’ names, community and caste details as well as the choice of exam center.

TS LAWCET Admit Card 2018

The admit card for TS LAWCET is provided online to the candidates appearing for the TS LAWCET. The admit card is accessed by the candidates on the TS LAWCET portal. Admit card will be released on 22nd May 2018. The admit card for TS LAWCET is issued by Kakatiya University.

The candidates can download the admit card from the official website of the TS LAWCET. The admit card will not be sent via post to any of the appearing candidates. The admit card of TS LAWCET will contain following details like candidates name, date of birth, photo, signature, exam center and roll number. This information of the candidate will be based on the applicant’s TS LAWCET application form.

The candidates are advised to take print out of the admit card and take this admit card with themselves to the exam center. None of the candidates are allowed to enter the examination hall without admit card. Also, all the candidates are informed to take their original as well as the photocopy of their ID proof along with admitting card.

TS LAWCET Application fees 2018

Once the candidate are done with filling the form online the next step is to pay the application fees.  To complete their TS LAWCET Counselling registration, candidates need to sign the counseling register and pay a non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 350 (Rs. 250 for SC/ST candidates). Different categories have fees for the application form of TS LAWCET.

The payment mode is only online, and Online payment can be done through Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card. The fees are non-refundable.

 TS LAWCET Eligibility Criteria

There is certain rules or conditions set by the official authority of the TS LAWCET authorities which an applicant needs to satisfy to appear for the TS LAWCET. The applicants can look for all the eligibility criteria one needs to satisfy and should contain all the documents proving that applicants are satisfying those criteria.

Here are some of the criteria which an applicant should satisfy:

  • Students should be an Indian Nationals and satisfy the local or non-local status requirements.
  • Students other than Indian Nationals are also eligible to apply.
  • For admission in 3 year LLB course, students should have passed graduation from the recognized institution with obtaining at least 45% marks.
  • For admission in 5 year LLB course, students must have cleared the 12th or equivalent exam with securing minimum 45% aggregate.
  • Relaxation of 5% marks in the total aggregate is given for SC/ST categories.
  • The maximum age limit for LLB (3 yr) course is 30 years (5 years relaxation for reserved categories).
  • Maximum age limit for LLB (5 yr) is 20 years (5 years relaxation for reserved categories).
  • Age limit given above is challenged in Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. Till now, there is no age limit for appearing in TS LAWCET exam. However, admissions into law courses will be subject to the outcome of the pending case.

Reservation for TS LAWCET 2018

The reservation for the candidates who are from different categories has different rules set by TS LAWCET. The rules and regulations are defined by the TS LAWCET. All the candidates must strictly follow the rules defined by the TS LAWCET for UG courses.

NOTE: The candidate should note that the in-case of any discrepancy the candidate’s admission will be canceled and the seat will not be given to the candidate instead will be allotted to any other candidate.

TS LAWCET Counselling 2018

The applicants scored marks, which are above the cutoff, are eligible for the admission procedure in the TS LAWCET and after that counseling procedure starts. The list will be released for the candidates who get selected for the admission procedure. The counseling for various courses will be held in the suitable month of  2018. The counseling will be conducted via offline mode. The counseling for TS LAWCET is conducted by Kakatiya University.

All the candidates will be assigned a center for the counseling process and candidates have to report to their respective center and on the given date by the authorities of TS LAWCET. Candidates will also have to present a list of official documents for verification and xerox copies of the same for submission. Candidates should ensure they submit only the correct information at the time of TS LAWCET Counselling process as it will be used for their seat verification.

The counseling is done by rank provided to the candidate. The counseling will be by the candidate’s rank. When the candidates are called for the counseling procedure, the candidates have to take original documents with them. The documents will go through the verification process by the authorities.

After the successful tests and verification, the candidate can appear for the admission in the TS LAWCET. It is important for the candidate to be present physically for the counseling and if the candidates fail to be present on the day of the counseling than the candidate’s seat will be canceled. Nowadays as provided by the online option the candidate can choose and fill their preferences of colleges and courses online in the official website of TS LAWCET.

The seats are allotted purely by marks secured in the entrance exam and merit list prepared on that marks.

TS LAWCET Exam Pattern 2018

Different academic courses have different exam pattern offered by the Institute. The MD/MS entrance exam will be based on OMR examination. The exam will be offline that is it will be a pen paper based examination. The duration of the examination of TS PGLCET will be for 90 minutes. There will be the total of 120 questions which will be multiple choice questions (objective based). The LLB Examination will be standard for the entrance examination. The candidate will be awarded one marks for the correct answer, and there will be NO negative marking. The question paper comprises of three parts which are General Knowledge and Mental AbilityCurrent Affairs and Aptitude for the Study of Law.

  • Language: The exam was conducted in English medium.
  • No. of Questions: The question paper contained 120 multiple choice questions.
  • Mode of Exam: The exam was organized through offline mode that is it will be the pen paper-based exam.
  • Negative Marking: There is  NO negative marking in this exam.
  • Marking Scheme: 1 marks will be awarded for each correct response.
