University of Burdwan B.Ed 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Interested candidates may check out the necessary Eligibility criteria for admission to the B.ED program is given below:

Fresh & Deputed Candidates – Candidates who have scored at least 50% marks either in the bachelor’s degree or 55% marks in master’s degree (Science/Social Science/Humanity/Commerce, or Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology), or any other qualification equivalent, is eligible for applying for the course. Relaxation of 5% marks in favor of SC, ST, and DA (Differently Abled) categories must be given.

N.B.: Candidates who have scored a minimum of 50% or 45% marks (as the case may be) in Bachelor’s degree with Hons is eligible for the implementation.

Age Limit: Upper age limit for the Fresh Candidates, will not exceed 38 years and there shall be in relaxation of 5 years in favor of DA category candidates.

• Applicants, engaged in any other Course of Studies/ Job/ Full-time Research Work, not allowed to continue that course simultaneously.
• Please go through the information leaflet before filling up the online Application Form.
• Fresh Applicant is required to fill up the online Application Form of either Burdwan University category or Other University a category which will be determined based on the Mark Sheet of the last Examination passed or the last Certificate.
• Applicant must upload scanned photograph and signature files. The files must be of type png or jpeg and the size of the photograph and the signature must be within 3 MB.
• At the time of the filing of the Application Form, each applicant would give a maximum of 15(fifteen) Colleges as their selection in the Application Form, subject to availability of seat and access to the subject. In this case, candidates are advised to prepare the list of 15 colleges as per their preference subject to availability of method subject and seat before going to fill up online Application Form in a different way they may face the problem of time out during the process.
• Reservation of seats for SC & ST candidates (both Fresh & Deputed) does not apply to Self-financed B.Ed. Colleges.

Deputed Candidates – A Choice of Deputed candidates will be carried out based on their approved length of service, Provisional Rank the list must be prepared of the selected candidate. In case of two or more candidates are the same length of service, then 2nd criteria shall be Total Grade Point and if the tie goes on to then the 3rd criteria shall be the Date of Birth. Separate lists for deputed applicants shall be prepared as mentioned below:

Language & Social Science Group: (Beng., Eng., Sans., Hin., Geo., Hist., Pol. Sci., Phil., Edn., Eco., Music, Commerce, Fine Arts)

Life Science Group: (Zoo., Bot., Physio., Bio-tech., Nutri, Micro-bio., Env.Sc.,)

Mathematics Group: (Math., Stat., Comp. Application, Comp. Sc., Engineering or Technology)

Documents at the time of verification

Candidates should submit the mention below original references and the self-attested photocopies at the time of a validation:

• Admit Card [ M.P. (S.E.) or equivalent]
• Mark Sheets ( both sides) of all the public examinations passed
• Certificate(s) of M.Phil. and/or Ph.D., if any, at the time of the taking-up of classes to the appropriate college.
• Deputed candidates must need to produce “No Objection Certificate” in original duly signed between the DI of Schools/The appropriate authority(with seal) and Secretary/ Administrator/HM (with seal) taken from their employer permitting them to pursue the B. Ed. Program

Reservation

Reservation of seats for SC & ST applicants does not apply to Self-financed B.Ed. Colleges. As per Govt. order, the completion percentage of reservation for the disabled shall be extended no fewer than 5% in each College.
