UPESEAT 2018: Result, Cut Off, Counselling, Admission

UPESEAT 2018 Counselling for non-exam is organized on 10th – 17th July 2018. University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Aptitude Test (UPESEAT) is conducted by the UPES, Dehradun for the aspirants for getting admission in its 37 Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) program.  Basically, it is an engineering entrance exam, for the applicants who are planning to apply for BTech/BDes and BPlan programs. UPES offers them specialization in sectors like Energy, Infrastructure, Transportation, and Application IT.

UPESEAT 2018 Result has been declared on 22nd May 2018. The University will provide admission into B.Tech course on the basis of the UPESEAT 2018 score (80%), JEE Main score (10%) & board merit (10%).

Counseling Procedures 


The counseling procedure will be started from 31st May to 3rd June 2018 for UPESEAT qualifier. A rank is allotted based on the performance of the applicant in the UPES-EAT exam. Applicants are shortlisted on the basis of applicant’s ranks in UPES-EAT after which there is a centralized counseling process for which selected applicants are invited. All the procedures, as well as admission, are based on the applicant’s rank along with the seat availability of seats of their choice in the particular program.

Result


The UPESEAT result is announced on 21st  May 2018, which consists of aggregate and subject-wise scores and the rank which is overall and also category-wise. The result can be checked online on the official website and download the result for further use. No offline mode is available to check the result, there’s only one mode.


Application Form for UPESEAT


NOTE: Applicants are requested to check the dates on the online official website.

Candidates can submit the application till 27th April 2018. Application forms is mandatory to fill to seat in the examination. These application forms are for undergraduates which are usually available from the third week of October. So, applicants are requested to check the official website timely to stay updated and know the confirm dates. It starts from the third week of October while applicants can fill this form till the first week of May. Candidates who want to take admission in this course can also fill the form online and make the payment using debit/credit cards or can also use net banking. Those Applicants who want prospectus and application form also get in offline mode from UPES Enrolment Offices at Dehradun or Delhi. In offline mode, you can pay through DD (Demand Draft) which will be drawn in favor of “UPES Fee Account”, which applicant have to pay offline at the office of Dehradun or Delhi.

Send the DD (that is Demand Draft) on the office address of Delhi or Dehradun and candidates will have to pay an amount of Rs 1850 and will be in favour of “UPES Fee Account”.

A requested letter should be attached to the DD or the same candidate can make a payment of Rs 1750 at the counters of the different cities such as Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Cochin, Coimbatore, Delhi, Dehradun, Vishakhapatnam, Kolkata, Mumbai, Dhanbad, and Patna.

  • Candidates can submit the application until 27th April 2018.
  • The UPESEAT online application form has been issued through online & offline mode.
  • Candidates have registered online with their email at first to log in
  • Candidates were needed to provide their basic details and the program that they were interested in
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button
  • Candidates received an email from UPES on the email id that they used for registration
  • Candidates had to click on the link provided in the email from UPES to verify their email id and activate their account on the UPES website
  • After the account was verified, candidates needed to fill up the application form online and follow all the instructions
  • The application fee is Rs. 1850/- (through DD/Online) & Rs. 1750/- (through cash).
  • Candidates had to upload their scanned photograph
  • After submitting the Application Form, candidates have to pay online by Credit card/ Debit card /Net Banking for UPES prospectus and application form
  • Take a print out of the application form for future reference

Eligibility Criteria


Admission in UPES (University of Petroleum and Energy Studies) will be done on the basis of UPESEAT which consists of 80% of the seats and 10% seats are filled by Board Merit and other 10% by JEE Main Merit.

There are certain conditions that are to be applied to the eligibility criteria for the examinations. These criteria are listed below:

 

Entrance Examination (UPESEAT):

  • The candidates must have completed 10th and 12th with minimum 60% marks.
  • Must have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM at 10+2.

 Non-Examination (Board Merit & JEE Main Merit):

Board Merit

  • Minimum 80% marks at 10th and 12th and minimum 80% aggregate marks in PCM at 12th class.

JEE Main Merit

  • The candidates must have passed his/her 10th and 12th board examination with minimum60%marks and must have 60% aggregate marks in PCM at senior secondary level.
  • The cut-off rank of JEE Main 2017 will be announced on the official website of UPES after the declaration of JEE Main 2017 result.

 Criteria of Age:

Candidates, born on or after October 01, 1995 are eligible for taking admission in B.Tech program of UPES. Also, these candidates are eligible for the entrance exam, UPESEAT.

Eligibility criteria:

Criterion Requirements
  Age Limit Candidates born on or after October 1, 1995 will be eligible for the examination. The date of birth recorded in the Secondary Board Education will be taken into account to check its authenticity.
Admission on the basis of UPESEAT 2017 ( up to 80% seat distribution)
  • Candidates must secure a Minimum of 60% marks at higher & senior secondary level (10th & 12th).
  • The aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at the senior secondary level should be at least 60%.
Direct admission (up to 20% seat distribution) On the basis of Board Merit: Candidates must score a minimum of 80% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th). The aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level should be at least 80%.   On the basis of JEE Main 2017 Merit: Candidates must full fill the below-mentioned conditions:

  • Minimum 60% marks at Higher& Senior Secondary level (10th & 12th) and minimum 60% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12thclass).
  • JEE Main 2017 Cut-off Rank announced after the declaration of JEE Main 2017 results.

 

 

Exam Pattern

Exam pattern is very important and thus knowing the exam pattern will help in familiarizing you with the question paper. This also gives you the brief idea about ‘how the exam is going to be’.

Few of the important things related to Exam patterns are mentioned below:

  • Type of Exam: The question paper type of the entrance examination will be objective type.
  • Duration: It has the time duration of 3 hours.
  • Negative Marking: No provision of negative marking.
  • Marking Scheme: One mark will be awarded for every correct answer.

The question paper will consist of MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) and be marking scheme isn’t difficult to understand, which one mark for every correct choice.

Admit Card for UPESEAT


The admit card has been released from 8th May 2018. At the test, center to appear for the test the applicants are required to take the admit card along with all the necessary documents. Candidates with NO admit cards are not allowed to seat in the examination.

Admit card will be available online and applicants can download the admit card in the form of pdf and after that printing the Admit card. Admit card can be downloaded using the application number and date of birth.

A current photograph of the applicant is needed to be paste on the area provided in the admit card. Even the applicants with no photograph on the application form won’t be allowed to seat in the examination.

These admit cards can be downloaded from the official website of the UPESEAT. Thereby, go to official website and download. Also, all the candidates are requested to preserve they are admit card till the admission procedure.

 

Exam Center


There is 46 cities across India for UPESEAT. Examination center is provided of the applicant’s choice.

The applicant can fill their preferences while the application form and accordingly first or second preference of the examination center will be allotted to the applicant.

When you chose the preferable city, be careful, as if the preference for the city is once filled it cannot be altered. So, fill the appropriate locations.

Cut-Off


The Cut off will announce after the result. To qualify the applicant must secure minimum cut off in order to get the admission and this cut off is set by the concerned authority.

Those who don’t meet the requirement of the minimum cut off won’t be able to take any under graduation course provided by the particular UPES.

UPESEAT 2017 cut-off will be determined by UPES on the basis of several factors like the number of seats available, number of applicants and difficulty level of the exam, etc.

Application Form Fee 


Candidates are free to pay either online or offline. In offline at the city center, you get 100/- off and the process is offline.

Candidates can make payment online by credit/debit cards or even through net banking.

Candidates can make payment offline by Demand Draft (DD) or going to the respective center and pay by cash.

Answer Key


All the applicants can check their Answer Key online in May. Also, applicants can calculate their estimated marks based on the model answer key provided online and also according to the marking scheme. With the help of these answer keys, candidates will know whether they are eligible for the admission or not.

Syllabus of UPESEAT


UPESEAT syllabus consists of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics ,English Comprehension and Current Affairs Awareness.  The PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) group is that of same as you prepared for the board but tricky questions can be asked.

Those students preparing for JEE Mains will definitely prepare for the PCM group which will help in UPESEAT.

All the topics studied in XI and XII should have to prepare well.
