The institute is one of the oldest institutes in imparting university education in medical science. VIMSAR is located in Burla. VIMSAR is a government-run college. It is regulated and supervised by the Medical Council of India. The institute is offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in medical sciences. VIMSAR is committed to producing accredited graduates who are innovative, analytical, contributing to the health, educational, cultural, economic, and physical environment of the society in which we are serving.

Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) is set in Sambalpur in the state of Odisha. It was set up in 1959. The establishment provides medical courses at Diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate levels for MBBS course, the candidates should have gone through an HSC or 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from any recognized board.

For MD courses, applicants should have done MBBS from any institute acknowledged by MCI. Selection will be conducted on the basis of the NEET score. In addition to the MBBS and MD-MS courses, Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) is also offering diploma courses. VIMSAR Admission 2024 Application Form will be Released soon for Various Courses. For the MBBS program, applicants should initially submit an application for a NEET. After the declaration of NEET result, they can be applied to the college with their NEET score.

For admissions to PG programs, the candidates can get the information brochure straight from the college campus. Following are steps to apply for the PG courses:

• Applicants must report at the Education section to the PG clerk of the institute.
• Offer a full signature & Roll Number of NEET PG in the admission attendance sheet.
• Separate the application form and fill all the necessary details.
• Depositing the Admission fees by cash, DD or Net Banking.
• Submit a copy of the Receipt of fees deposited at the Admission Desk.
• Receive the following documentation in original from the office before leaving:
• Duly signed an entry fee letter by the college authorities
• Initial retention certificate
• Fee receipt

Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Sambalpur (Odisha) provides you MBBS, MD/MS, Nursing, Residency Program & DMLT/DMRT a program to the students in accordance with their multiple departments. Admission is given on the basis of the entrance test. Students can obtain the admission form and other related information from the institute’s website.

The institute is a follow-up to the semester-based academic curriculum and schedules its academic session into two semesters i.e. Odd & Even semester. The Odd semester begins in the month of August and ends in the month of December. The even semester begins in January and completes in June. The date and duration of each semester vary depending upon the course/program.

The calendar of term-end, the supplemental, mid-term, and PMB annual examination is uploaded on the institute’s website 20-25 days before the opening. The Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research result is declared after the examination inside 20 days. Students can download the academic calendar of their corresponding course from the website of the institute.

VIMSAR 2024 Admissions Process

VIMSAR offers MD and MS programs in various specializations. Candidates should have been made MBBS or an equivalent from any acknowledged institute to take admission in the PG courses.

Final selection is carried out on the basis of candidate’s performance in NEET PG. It is an offline exam of 305 marks. MBBS course demands a pass in HSC with Physics, Chemistry & Biology with 50% marks in the aggregate. Candidates are chosen on the basis of NEET UG score. The candidate must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or previously December 31. NEET UG is an Offline exam of 720 marks for a duration of 3.5 hours.

For 50% seats under state quota, counseling is performed by the Directorate of Medical Education and Training, Government of Odisha on the grounds of NEET PG score only. A total of 53 seats are currently available for admission under state quota.15% of the seats of the MBBS program have been filled through All India Quota and rest of the seats through the state quota. The Nursing courses are demanding a good knowledge of the English subjects.

• Admissions are carried out through an entrance exam.
• Underlying admission criteria are based on the merit list based on NEET-UG and NEET-PG for the undergraduate and postgraduate exam.
• For the MBBS program, students are also chosen as per the AIPMT ranking.
• MD/MS students are also selected from in accordance with their ranking in AIPGEE.
