VITEEE 2018 Counselling (Phase II) has been started from 14th May 2018.VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is the all India level entrance examination organized by the VIT University.Through this examination,  admission to 5,000 B.Tech seats in the Vellore and Chennai campus of VIT University is provided. The examination is conducted in 118 cities of India.VIT University will conduct VITEEE 2018 online from April 2018, while the application form of  VITEEE 2018 is available now, from November  2018 onwards.

VITEEE 2018 Eligibility Notification, Syllabus, exam model and other details have been published. VIT University is the lead authority for a university entrance examination. This test is known as VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE).

Through this examination, students will be admitted to the four-year B.Tech program on the Chennai and Vellore campuses of VIT University. This review will be held in 118 cities in India. The exam will be organized offline during the first week of April 2018. In this article, we provide full details on VITEEE 2018.

The university has also released the tentative dates for VITEEE 2018 result announcement, ie: on or before April 2018. VIT Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) 2018 will be conducted in 3 sessions per day, from April. Timings for these 3 sessions for VITEEE 2018 will be 9 am to 11.30 am (first session), 12.30 pm to 3 pm (second session) and 4 to 6.30 pm (third session).

VITEEE Counselling 2018

The conducting authority conduct VITEEE counseling through offline mode.

Candidates will receive entries based on the rank they obtained during the VITEEE entrance examination. It is imperative that the candidates attend counseling in person. Candidates will be informed of the SMS and email calendar.
The number of places available for each branch in different participating institutes will be published in the Consultancy Center. As a result, applicants can make an appropriate choice.

The fact that the candidates do not attend the advice on the assigned date and time will result in the cancellation of the candidacy. Previously selected candidates may only participate in the advice after verification of their records. Applicants must bring with them the documents specified in the original with two sets of photocopies at the time of advice. The payment of the participation fee of Rs 50,000 must be made by drawing on the demand for the “VIT university” in Poway in Vellore.

The counseling details are given below:

  • The conducting authority will conduct the counseling through online mode. It will be started from the 2nd week of May 2018.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be called for the counseling procedure.
  • The seat will be allotted to the candidates on the basis of rank in the VITEEE 2018.
  • On the confirmation of seat & acceptance of branch allotted, selected candidates have to submit the fee of Rs. 50,000 through DD in favor of ‘VIT University’, payable at Vel

VITEEE Results 2018


Candidates will check their VITEEE results through the website on or before 27th April 2018 . The university makes use of Equipercentile Equating Method to as a basis to announce VITEEE result. In the Equipercentile Equating method, the varsity uses percentile of a candidate to find out his/her ranks. In order to check their results online, the candidates have to log in using their VITEEE 2018 application number and date of birth

  • Candidates will check their results through online mode from the website.
  • There is no provision to send the result by post to any candidates.
  • The rank will be intimated to the candidates through SMS.
  • The merit list will be made on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the examination.

VITEEE Slot Booking 2018

VITEEE 2018 Slot Booking has been started from 21st March 2018.

  • Candidates have to book a slot according to their preferences.
  • In slot booking, candidates have to select date & batch of the examination.
  • The VITEEE 2018 slot booking will be done through ‘the first-come-first-served basis’.
  • If candidates forget to book a slot, the slot will be booked automatically by the University based on the details given on the application.

Note: A slot once booked cannot be changed.

The application form of VITEEE 2018 is available now, from 28th Oct 2018, onwards. Aspirants can fill, submit and edit VITEEE 2018 application form last date of 28th February 2019. Earlier, VITEEE application form 2018 for NRI and Foreign candidates was released in October 2018. Candidates are advised to be ready with a valid email id and contact number as all the further communication will happen through email only.

  • Candidates as per their convenience can choose any one of the modes for applying.
  • The application form has been Started from 28th Oct 2018.

  • The OMR application form along with prospectus can be obtained from the prescribed post offices or from the Vellore & Chennai campuses of VIT University.
  • Candidates can avail OMR form by handling a demand draft of Rs. 990/- drawn in favor of “VIT University”, payable at Vellore.

VITEEE 2018 Eligibility Criteria 


Age Criteria: Candidates born on or after July 1, 1996 can apply for VITEEE-2018.

Qualifying marks: Aspiring candidates should have obtained an aggregate of 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).

Qualifying marks: For candidates belonging to SC/ST categories and North Eastern State, the average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50%.

Education type criteria: Only those candidates, who have studied in regular, full time and formal education are eligible to apply.

Qualifying Examination:

  • The candidates who are appearing/passed his/her higher secondary examination from the state board, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE, New Delhi) are eligible to apply for VITEEE 2018.
  • The National institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) candidates is also eligible to apply.
  • Minimum 60% marks in aggregate are required in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology at 10+2.
  • The candidates belonging from SC/ST category or North Eastern states are required to obtain 50% aggregate marks in PCM at 12th standard.
  • Students studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.
  • VITEEE 2018 Admit Card

VITEEE 2018 admit card will be available online in the form of e-admit card for candidates who will have booked his/her schedule through the Online Test Booking System (OTBS) before the last date. After the online slot booking is done and e-admit card of VITEEE 2018 is generated, the candidates have to take print out of it. In 2018, VITEEE Slot Booking was available in the third week of March. The e-admit card of VITEEE 2018 will carry specifications like e-Admit Card number, the photograph of the student, address of the test center, test date and time selected by the candidate.

  • The admit card will be generated once the slot booking completed.
  • Candidates will get the VITEEE admit card through online mode from the website.
  • The authority will also send the copy of admit card in your registered email id.
  • The admit card contain details such as for admitting card number, test date & time selected by the candidate, venue of the test center, candidate photograph, etc.
  • If any discrepancies found in the admit card, candidates can contact the university immediately.

Note: If candidates find any incorrect information or discrepancy in the VITEEE 2018 admit card, they must bring to the university’s notice immediately.

VITEEE 2018 Exam Centres

Exam Centres of VITEEE 2018 are the venues where the entrance examination will be conducted. For 2018, VITEEE will be conducted in 119 exam cities including India and abroad (Dubai, Kuwait, and Muscat). In 2018, VITEEE was conducted in online mode across 112 cities in India and 3 abroad – Dubai, Muscat, and Kuwait.

VITEEE 2018 Exam Pattern


 Total number of questions: There will a total of 125 questions for B.Tech paper, 40 questions each for Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry sections, while English section will have 5 questions.

Marking scheme: Each question in all the subjects will carry equal weightage, i.e. 1 mark. All questions will be objective in nature. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

Nature of questions: All questions will be objective in nature.

For PCB, the candidates will be able to apply for only 3 B.Tech. Bio-stream Engineering programmes.

VITEEE Cut-Off 2018


The VITEEE 2018 cut-off will be released by the conducting authority after the result declaration. On the basis of the cut-off marks, candidates can predict that they will get admission in their choice programme or not. The cut-off is the minimum qualifying marks which candidates have to obtain in the examination. The authority will release branch & campus wise cut-off list.

VITEEE Result 2018 & Rank List

The result of VITEEE 2018 will be declared in March of 2018 in online mode. Candidates can verify the VITEEE result by entering their application number and password. A list of merits will be prepared based on the marks marked by the candidates in VITEEE 2018. The methodology of horsemanship propagated by the University will be adopted during the preparation of the VITEEE merit list. Candidates will be informed of the classification they have obtained by SMS.

VITEEE 2018 Answer key


The VITEEE 2018 answer will contain the correct answers to the questions that are asked during the exam. However, VIT University does not publish the VITEEE 2018 response. In the event that the University decides to publish the answer, it will be provided on our site. If the VITEEE 2018 key is provided by any training institute, it will also be made available to candidates so that they can compare their responses and estimate their scores.

 1. Laws of Motion & Work, Energy and Power Law of conservation of linear momentum and its applications. Static and kinetic friction – laws of friction – rolling friction – lubrication. Work was done by a constant force and a variable force; kinetic energy – work-energy theorem – power. 1. Matrices and their Applications Adjoint, inverse – properties, computation of inverses, the solution of the system of linear equations by matrix inversion method. Rank of a matrix – elementary transformation on a matrix, consistency of a system of linear equations, Cramer’s rule, non-homogeneous equations, homogeneous linear system and rank method. A solution of linear programming problems (LPP) in two variables.

2. Trigonometry and Complex Numbers Definition, range, domain, principal value branch, graphs of inverse trigonometric functions and their elementary properties. Complex number system – conjugate, properties, ordered pair representation. Modulus – properties, geometrical representation, polar form, principal value, conjugate, sum, difference, product, quotient, vector interpretation, solutions of polynomial equations, De Moivre’s theorem and its applications. Roots of a complex number – nth roots, cube roots, fourth roots.

3. Analytical Geometry of two dimensions Definition of a conic – general equation of a conic, classification with respect to the general equation of a conic, classification of conics with respect to eccentricity. Equations of conic sections (parabola, ellipse, and hyperbola) in standard forms and general forms- Directrix, Focus and Latus-rectum – the parametric form of conics and chords. – Tangents and normals – Cartesian form and parametric form- the equation of chord of contact of tangents from a point (x1,y1) to all the above-said curves. Asymptotes, Rectangular hyperbola – Standard equation of a rectangular hyperbola.

4. Vector Algebra Scalar Product – angle between two vectors, properties of the scalar product, and applications of the dot product. Vector product, right handed and left handed systems, properties of vector product, applications of the cross product. The product of three vectors – Scalar triple product, properties of the scalar triple product, vector triple product, vector product of four vectors, scalar product of four vectors.

5. Analytical Geometry of Three Dimensions Direction cosines – direction ratios – the equation of a straight line passing through a given point and parallel to a given line, passing through two given points, the angle between two lines. Planes – equation of a plane, passing through a given point and perpendicular to a line, given the distance from the origin and unit normal, passing through a given point and parallel to two given lines, passing through two given points and parallel to a given line, passing through three given non-collinear points, passing through the line of intersection of two given planes, the distance between a point and a plane, the plane which contains two given lines (co-planar lines), angle between a line and a plane. Skew lines – the shortest distance between two lines, condition for two lines to intersect, the point of intersection, collinearity of three points. 2 Sphere – equation of the sphere whose center and radius are given, the equation of a sphere when the extremities of the diameter are given.

6. Differential Calculus Limits, continuity, and differentiability of functions – Derivative as a rate of change, velocity, acceleration, related rates, derivative as a measure of a slope, tangent, normal and an angle between curves. Mean value theorem – Rolle’s Theorem, Lagrange Mean Value Theorem, Taylor’s and Maclaurin’s series, L’ Hospital’s Rule, stationary points, increasing, decreasing, maxima, minima, concavity, convexity and points of inflection. 7. Integral Calculus and its Applications Simple definite integrals – fundamental theorems of calculus, properties of definite integrals. Reduction formulae – reduction formulae for  x dx n sin and  x dx n cos, Bernoulli’s formula. Area of bounded regions, length of the curve.

8. Differential Equations Differential equations – formation of differential equations, order and degree, solving differential equations (1st order), variables separable, homogeneous and linear equations. Second order linear differential equations – second order linear differential equations with constant coefficients, finding the particular integral if f(x) = emx, sin mx, cos mx, x, x2.
