NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2022, Qualification, Age – Check Here Category Wise Eligibility

NEET PG is also known as National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Post Graduate and this popular entrance test is managed through NBE (National Board of Examinations).

NEET PG is the national level entrance examination and this examination is organized to offer admission to the candidates in MD/MS/MDS programs. In the various medical colleges and institutions of India, admission will offer to the candidates on the basis of marks scored in NEET PG.

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria

Those candidates are wishing to get admission to the MD/MS/MDS programs, should have the eligibility criteria to apply in the NEET PG and before applying in the NEET-PG examination, candidates should have to check the eligibility criteria mentioned below.

Candidates in possession of MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass A certificate recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 and possessing permanent or provisional registration
certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council and have completed one year of internship or are likely to complete the internship on or before last week of March 2022,

MBBS Degree

On the basis of NEET PG Eligibility Criteria, candidates can get admission in MBBS degree or provisional MBBS pass certificate recognized as per the provisions under Indian Medical Council 1956.

Registration Certificate  

The permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification will be issued by the Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Medical Council (SMC). As mentioned in the NEET PG Eligibility Conditions 2022, applicants should have to carry the MCI/SMC registration certificate at the NEET PG Exam center on the day of the examination


As per the NEET PG Eligibility Criteria, applicants should have completed or likely to complete 12 months mandatory rotatory internship on or before March 31, 2022

Aadhaar Card 

At the time of registration, candidates should have to enter their Aadhar Card details. Those who will not have an aadhar card number must get it enrolled from an aadhar card enrollment center. Students should have to enter their 14 digit number if they have not applied for an Aadhar card.

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria for Jammu & Kashmir aspirants

As per the NEET PG eligibility criteria, likewise last year, candidates from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are eligible for 50% All India Quota seats. These states started participating in a 50% AIQ scheme. Those students who belong to Jammu and Kashmir, will not be eligible to participate in NEET PG 50% All India Quota seats.

Those who are selected through the Government of India under central pool seats for MBBS course in medical colleges in J&K are considered eligible for admission to All India 15% Quota seats, as per the guidelines in NEET PG eligibility criteria.

NEET PG 2022 Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Medical Graduates

Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have obtained their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical Colleges outside India should have qualified for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (Screening Test)
which is conducted by the National Board of Examinations. Further, they should have been registered with MCI/SMC and should have completed their internship or likely to complete their internship on or before st 31 March 2022.

  • As per the new eligibility conditions of NEET PG, it is not mandatory for foreign nationals to possess the provisional MCI registration certificate at the time of the NEET-PG examination
  • The foreign nationals can write the exams without MCI registration certificate
  • The temporary registration will be issued with a condition that such aspirants must be duly registered with the competent registering authority of their own country.

NEET PG Eligibility Criteria 2022 for Foreign Nationals

It is not mandatory for foreign nationals to have temporary registration with MCI at the time of writing NEET-PG. Foreign Nationals can write NEET-PG without MCI registration. The Medical Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate course limited to the medical college/institution to which he/she is admitted for the time being exclusively for pursuing postgraduate studies.

Provided further that temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered with appropriate registering authority in his own country where he has obtained his Basic Medical qualification and is duly recognized by the corresponding Medical Council or concerned authority.”

    Incase an FMGE graduate does not receive state provisional registration in time for NEET , can they appear for the exam with the FMGE pass certificate?
