Admission Procedure

Several colleges and institutions in Punjab give admission through national or university-level exams. Spot admissions will also be made based on the list of merits for vacant seats.

No entry will be organized at the state level for B.Tech admissions.

Entrance Exams

Students can apply for admission to engineering courses based on the JEE core scores. JEE Main 2023 is a national entry organized by the NTA Board of Directors for admission to the B.Tech & B.Arch programs.

The Technical University of Punjab (PTU) will offer admission through JEE Main and inter-se-merit. To be admitted to IIT-Ropar, candidates must qualify for the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams.

Before applying for admission, students must verify their eligibility for the respective course. The eligibility criteria for the JEE primary test are mentioned below:

• Students must have passed exam number 12 or equivalent in 2016 and 2017 and are eligible to apply.
  Holders of a diploma are also eligible.
• Candidates must have Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects in the qualification exam.
• Candidates who appear in the qualification exam can also apply.
• The student’s date of birth must be October 1, 1995, or later (for general courses) and October 1, 1990 (for reserved classes) to apply for JEE Main.

Selection Procedure

Admissions will be based on the list of merits. The merit will be prepared based on the grades obtained during the entrance or qualifying exam.

Preference will be given to candidates who will obtain a higher ranking on the list of merits. Candidates must complete their college and course options during the counselling process.

The seat allocation will depend on the classification, the options filled, the category, and the availability of seats.

• Tenth-grade qualification sheet and pass certificate
• A sheet of 10 + 2 sheets and a certificate of passage
• Registration card and admission exam room ticket (if applicable)
