General Category

  • Section Wise Qualifying Marks = 81/3 = 27
  • No. of Questions to be Correctly Answered in Each Section = 27/4 = 6.75 or 7 Questions
  • Total Questions to be Correctly Answered in JEE Main Paper I = 21 Questions

In line with the previous year, the cutoff score meant for the General category is 81 marks. JEE Main Paper 1 is made up of 3 sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Therefore, it means that you will have to get 27 marks in each section to qualify for JEE Advanced.

Since each question brings four marks, it is essential for you to get seven questions correct in each section. So in full, if you are a member of the General category, you will have got to answer seven questions in each segment appropriately which means complete 21 questions should be answered in the whole JEE Main Paper 1.

OBC – NCL Category

  • Total Cutoff Marks = 49
  • Section Wise Qualifying Marks = 49/3 = 16.33 or 17
  • No. of Questions to be Correctly Answered in Each Section = 17/4 = 4.25 or 5 Questions
  • Total Questions to be Correctly Answered in JEE Main Paper I = 15 Questions
  • If you are in the OBC – NCL category, the cutoff score obtained for JEE Advanced is 49 marks.
