The Exam Pattern of HPCET M.Tech 2024 given below details the pattern of the question paper that might appear in the HPCET M.Tech Exam. M.Tech applicants who will be performing for the HPCET M.Tech exam can use the given HPCET M.Tech Exam Design to understand the question paper and better their preparation.

GATE competent entrants will be let off from the HPCET M.Tech Exam and will be given a choice in counseling and admissions through the Himachal Pradesh Technical University.

Contenders are recommended to confirm the given Paper Pattern for the HPCET M.Tech 2024 Exam to be at ease with the exam and achieve better.

HPCET M. Tech 2024 Exam Pattern

The Paper Pattern of HPCET M. Tech 2024 is as declared below:

• Duration of HPCET– Contenders will have 3 hours to finish the examination. Request for extra time will not be considered.
• Mode of the Exam – The examination will only be organized in the Offline/Pen and Paper method. Contenders will surround their answers in an OMR sheet.
• Language: The question paper will only be provided in the English Language.
• Total Number of Sections – In all, there will be three segments in the exam, for the following: Aptitude Test, Subject Paper, Engineering Mathematics

The Subject Papers will take in the below-mentioned disciplines:

• Civil Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics and Communication Engineering
• Computer Science and Engineering
• Mechanical Engineering

About the Question in the Exam – In all the sections, the questions will consist of Multiple-Choice types. For each question, four answer options will be declared, and the contenders need to choose one as their answer.

In all, there will be present 100 questions and the allocation of it in each segment, will be in this manner:

• Aptitude Test – 15 MCQ’s
• Subject Paper 60 MCQ’s
• Engineering Mathematics – 25 MCQ’s

Allocation of Marks – According to the HPCET M.Tech Exam Design, the Total marks in the examination will be 200. Each question will be of 2 marks. Hereafter, the weightage of scores in each segment will be:

• Aptitude Test – 30
• Subject Paper – 120
• Engineering Mathematics – 50

Negative and No Marking – The marks will only be bestowed if the contenders will choose the correct answer as their option. If the entrants mark the improper answer, a negative marking of 0.5 marks will be done. Where, if no answer option has been chosen then the scores will neither be bestowed nor removed.

Important points about HPCET M.Tech Exam Pattern

• The contenders must mark the responses with either a black or blue pen.
• The contenders must fetch their own pen, pencil, eraser, geometry box, etc.
• The cardboard, which the contenders will bring on the exam day must not have anything written on it.
• At the exam hall, there will be no reliable care for the bags or personal possessions.
