IISc Admission 2023 Application Form has been Extended for PG Courses. The UG Application Form has been released on 15th March 2023. IISC, which is the Indian Institute of Science Commences, is an admission exam for various courses. It is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.  This exam is conducted for various courses like UG, PG, and PG research in the field of Science, Engineering, Designing, and Management.

The level exam is National level. The mode of conduction of this examination is Online. For admission into the UG courses, the applying candidates must have qualified one National level exam and for admission into the PG course, the applying candidates have to qualify for GATE/CEED/CAT or GMAT exam.

Dates are a very important part of the exam knowing the dates beforehand is very helpful for all the candidates. The Online application form for IISC 2023 admissions will be released on February 2023 and for other dates see the tables below:-

All the information related to IISC 2023 would be released on the official website, online only. The application form would also be made available to the students online on the official website only from the 1st week of February in 2023.

• Go to the official website.
• Click on the tab that says ‘UG/PG’
• Click on the ‘New User to Register Click Here’ Link.
• Enter all the details mentioned there carefully along with a valid mobile number.
• After that click on the ‘Register’ option.
• Then you will receive an email that will have your application form link.
• Click on the link to fill out your application form.
• Fill in all the details carefully.
• After filling, click on submit and your application number will be generated.
• After that click on ‘Upload Images’ and choose images to upload.
• Now after that you will have to make the application fee payment as per your category.
• And then the last step is you have to click on ‘Submit’ and print your application form for further use.

IISC 2023 Application Form Correction

Candidates will have to fill out their application forms for IISC 2023 very carefully. You will have to avoid any mistakes as there will be no facility for application form correction once you have submitted the application form on the official website.

The official authorities have not released any instructions to open a correction window for application forms for IISC 2023. So all the candidates should be on their toes and be very attentive while filling out their application forms.

IISC 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria are the restrictions that are set by the exam conducting authorities for the candidates who would be applying for the exam or the admissions. All the candidates who fit the eligibility criteria can easily apply on the official website and those who are not cannot apply as their application forms would be canceled.

The candidate should be an Indian citizen who is a foreign national and has a foreign passport and can also apply.

Marks Required

UG Courses Eligibility

• The candidates should have completed their class 12th or PUC exam by the year 2023 with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects.
• The applying candidates should have scored at least 60% marks or equivalent grade in their class 12th or PUC exam.
• Those candidates who belong to the SC/ ST category only need to score passing marks in the qualifying exam (class 12th).
• Candidates appearing for their 12th exam in the year 2023 are also eligible to apply.

PG Courses Eligibility

• Integrated Ph.D. Programs: The applying candidates must hold a relevant B.Sc or equivalent degree or B.Pharma or Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy with valid JAM score. Candidates who clear JEST are only eligible to apply for the Physical Sciences stream. BE/ B.Tech candidates who qualify in subjects like Mathematics/ Mathematical Statistics in JAM are eligible to apply to the Mathematical Science discipline and in Biotechnology in JAM to Biological Sciences discipline.
• Research Programmes (Ph.D./ M.Tech (Research)): The candidates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the relevant field and those who hold a valid GATE (GPAT) or NET JRF are eligible for admissions in their course.
• D- External Registration Programmes (ERP): The required qualifications remain the same as for the regular candidates. Qualifying in one of the tests like CSIR-UGC NET for JRF, UGC-NET for JRF, DBT JRF, ICMR JRF, GATE, or NBHM is desirable. Further, the candidate should have completed two years of full-time employment in the current organization.
• Course Programmes (M.Tech/ M.Des/ M.Mgt): Candidates with a minimum of the second class in BE/ B.Tech/ B.Des/ B.Arch in an appropriate field or Master’s degree in subjects like Science, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Instrumentation, Electronics or MCA are eligible to apply for this course. Also, a valid GATE score card is required.

IISC 2023 Admission Procedure 

The enrolment for candidates will be granted to them based on the National entrance exam. Then that will be followed by an Aptitude test/ or an interview for particular courses. All the details for the IISC 2023 will be released on the official website. All the candidates are advised to keep themselves updated by checking the official website.

The admission for IISC 2023 would be provided based on the criteria of seats that are mentioned for various courses and categories. For admission, multiple rounds would be conducted. The selection of applicants for admission would be done 70% based on the National level and 30% based on written and online interviews.

For undergraduate candidates, the admission procedure or selection would be based on a merit list of exams like KVPY. JEE Main, JEE Advanced, NEET-UG. And admissions in M . Tech courses will be based on GATE scores.

Selection Procedure for IISC 2023

• Admissions into certain M.Tech programs will be offered based on GATE score and for some others. The GATE-qualified candidates will have to clear an aptitude test and an interview for this course.
• For the M.Mgt course, the selection process will be based on valid GATE/ CAT/GMAT scores followed by a group discussion and interview round.
• For research programs, the shortlisting of the candidates will be done based either on performance in national tests or based on their performance in the qualifying examination. The final selection will be done on the performance in an interview round or a written test + interview (depending on the department).
• Admissions into Integrated Ph.D. programs will be offered based on candidates’ performance in JAM/ JEST. Interviews might also be conducted for some disciplines.
• For the M.Des course, selection will be done based on a valid GATE/ CEED score followed by a Design Aptitude Test and an interview round.
• The selection of the candidates for admission into the undergraduate courses will be done based on their performance in any of these – KVPY, IIT JEE (Main)/ IIT JEE (Advanced) or NEET (as per the applicability).

IISC 2023 Rank List

The merit list for IISC 2023 will be announced after the application process and the submission of marks for the National level exam. It will be based on candidates’ performance in the National level exam.

All the applying candidates have to qualify for any of the national level exams like KVPY. JEE Main, JEE Advanced, GATE, CAT, CEED, JRF, JMCR, and JEST. For the M.Des and M.tech courses, the candidates would have to qualify for the aptitude test after they are shortlisted on the merit list based on their GATE  exam scores.

The merit link would be released on the official website after the application forms are submitted to the website successfully. All the candidates would get admission based on their scores in any of the national-level exams from KVPY. JEST. JEE Main, JEE Advanced, UGC NET, JRF, CEED, GATE, CAT, NEET ICMR, DBT, JAM.

IISC 2023 Cut off

Every year the conducting body of IISC releases a cut-off list on the official website for the candidates to seek admission into IISC. In 2023 IISC cut-off will be available for two channels. The counseling session is only done after all the processes are done and the candidates have qualified. It is only conducted for qualified candidates of IISC. The qualifying is done in various steps like Verification, application process, choice filling, and then seat allocation by online method.
