Students who have fallen in the Top 220000 ranks in JEE Main 2021 will be eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced 2021 exams.

  • For the general category, the score should be more than 75% to be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2021 exams.
  • For the reserved category, the score should be more than 65% to be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2021 exams.
  • The student will be able to apply for the JEE Advanced Exams repeatedly for two years.
JEE Main 2021 It is mandatory to appear in JEE Main 2021 for appearing in JEE Advanced 2021.
Performance in JEE Main 2021 Candidate should come under the top 2, 24, 000* (including all categories) in Paper 1 of JEE Main 2021.
Appearance in class 12th or equivalent examination A candidate should have appeared for the Class 12th or equivalent examination for the first time in either 2020 or 2021. If any Board declares the results for the academic year 2021-21 after June 2018, then the candidates of that board who appeared for their Class XII exam in 2017 are also eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2021.
Earlier Admission at IITs A candidate should not have been admitted in any IIT irrespective of whether or not he/she continued in the program OR accepted an IIT seat by reporting in the center in the past. Candidates whose admissions at IITs were canceled after joining any IIT are also not eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2021. Candidates who have been studying in a preparatory course in any of the IITs for the first time in 2020 can appear in JEE Advanced 2020.

The candidates who paid seat acceptance fee in 2021 but (i) did not report at any reporting center OR, (ii) withdrew before the last round of seat allotment, OR, (iii) had their seat canceled (for whatever reason) before the last round of seat allotment for IITs, during the joint seat allocation in 2020 are eligible to appear in JEE Advanced.

Performance in 12th or Equivalent Examination Candidates should secure 75% marks (65% in case of SC/ST/PWD category) in 10+2 or equivalent examination. Candidates must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of qualified candidates in their particular 10+2 or equivalent examination.

For candidates, who appeared in the 10+2 (or equivalent) examination in 2020 but reappeared in 2021, the best of two percentages will be considered.
