The Common Entrance Test is conducted the KEAM 2019, which is entrance examination to take the admission to engineer courses in Kerala for the year 2018This year there will be the entrance examination for the Medical and Allied Courses and Architecture Courses.

The KEAM 2019 will prepare and publish the Rank list for agriculture, Medical, Allied Courses in June. After the declaration of KEAM Result, there will be a Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) for Engineering, Architecture and Medical Streams did by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala.

Candidates desirous of seeking admission to Medical and Allied Courses must qualify for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET 2019) UG 2019 which will be conducted by the CBSE.

KEAM Eligibility Criteria 2019:

Candidates desirous of seeking admission to Architecture Courses must qualify in the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the Council of Architecture.

KEAM Exam Pattern 2019

KEAM exam pattern 2019 gives information about the marking scheme, question paper type, paper mode and exam duration. The KEAM 2019 exam will be conducted by CEE (Commissioner of Entrance Examination) to provide admissions to students in engineering courses offered by different colleges and institutions of the Kerala state.   • Course: KEAM will be conducted for admission to engineering courses and pharmacy.
  • Number of Papers: There will be 2 papers for engineering.
  • Exam Dates: The exam will be held on23rd April 2019 (Paper 1) & 24th April 2019 (Paper 2).
  • Papers: Paper 1 is for Physics & Chemistry and Paper 2 is for Mathematics.
  • Number of Questions:  There will be a total of 120 questions in each paper of engineering.
  • Question Paper Type: This exam will contain objective type questions. Total five optional answers will be provided for each question like (A, B, C, D or E), candidates have to choose the correct option only.
  • Subjects: For engineering, paper-1 will consist of Physics and Chemistry while paper-2 will be of Mathematics.
  • Mode of Exam: OMR answer sheet will be provided to answer the questions. The exam is conducted in pen and paper mode.
  • Duration: Total 150 minutes (2 ½ hours) will be provided to answer each paper (10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.)
  • Total Marks: The exam will contain maximum 480 marks.
  • Marking Scheme: 4 marks will be provided in response to every correct answer.
  • Negative Marking: 1 mark will be deducted from the total score for each incorrect answer. For un-attempted questions, no marks will be deducted, but in the case of multiple answers, it will lead to the negative marking. Candidates are suggested to attempt only those questions, for which they are sure that they are correct.

Instruction related to KEAM Exam Patten

  • KEAM 2019 will be conducted in two papers – Paper I and Paper II
  • Paper, I will have questions from Physics and Chemistry, while Paper II will have questions from Mathematics
  • Both the papers will have the time duration of 2.30 hours or 150 minutes
  • The entrance test will have objective type questions where every question will have 5 options (A, B, C, D, E) to choose from. Examinees have to choose one correct option out of the five.
  • Each paper will have a total of 120 questions, making it total marks of 480
  • Each correct answer will fetch 4 marks, while each incorrect answer will be awarded -1 mark (or 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect response).
  • The candidates who fail to attempt even one question will be disqualified

Critical details to check in exam Pattern

  • All candidates must carefully check KEAM 2019 roll number and question booklet version number. In case a mismatch is found between the both, the test taker should immediately get the test booklet replaced.
  • They must also check the serial number of the question booklet. If the serial number is missing, then the examinee must get it replaced with a new question booklet with the same version number as mentioned above.

KEAM Cutt Off 2019

In order to qualify engineering entrance examination, the candidate must score at least 10 marks in Paper I and Paper II. However, for SC/ST candidates there are no minimum marks set. Nevertheless, CEE Kerala will disqualify candidates who fail to answer at least one question in each paper.
