Visva Bharati University was set up by the first non-European Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Thakur (popularly called Tagore) in 1921. Visva-Bharati is a pilgrimage culture and education. It reflects the Tagorean ethos of making a fully human.

Visva Bharati University offers different under Graduate (UG), Post Graduate (PG), M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses under the different specializations that give the students a pool of options available for taking on the higher studies.

There is a total of 9 departments offering UG, PG, M.Phil. and P.hD courses including Patha Bhavan for school education. The University also provides for certain specific courses specifically designed for foreign students.

  • Admit cards (wherever applicable) is to be produced at the university website
  • Applicants will have to report at least between one and a half hours before the beginning of the admission test
  • The Admission Tests for the courses (wherever applicable) will be conducted in Santiniketan and Sriniketanby individual ministry
  • Applicants are required to present their original final mark sheets of previous public examinations and other relevant documents along with the attested photocopies at the time of admission to various courses if this is not the case his/her candidature will not be taken into account admission.

Visva Bharati University 2020 Result

Visva Bharati University is offering the UG/PG/Diploma/Research/Bridge/Certificate courses in various specializations. University does a semester-based academic system and its academic year has been divided into two semesters i.e. Odd Semester and Even Semester.

Visva Bharati University Odd semester term-end examination is conducted in the month of November-December, while the even semester term-end examination is being held in the month of April-May.

The timetable of the semester-end examination of both semesters will be announced a month before the inception of the examination. The examination result of the semester-end examination is announced within 30-35 days after the conclusion of the examination.

The admission procedure for all the UG and PG courses generally starts from May and ends in the third week of June. Admission for most of the courses is done based on the virtue of the students.

  • However, for some undergraduate courses of Sangit Bhavana, Kala Bhavana, PalliSamgathanaVibhaga and Vinaya Bhavana, the individual admission test will be carried out
  • Reservation for SC, ST, OBC &DA(prior to that PWD) (Differently able) candidates is as per Govt. Rules
  • Candidates may request more than one subject
  • For General & OBC candidates Rs. 500/- + Rs. 200/- (Per additional subject)
  • For SC, ST & PWD a candidate for the Rs. 150/- + Rs. 75/- (For each additional subject)
