Chandigarh B.Ed 2023 Eligibility Criteria

A person who possesses the following qualifications shall be eligible to join the course:

Candidates with at least 50% Marks either in Bachelor’s degree and in the Master’s degree in Science/ Social Sciences/ Humanities/ Commerce/Home Science/ B.B.A/ B.C.A/ B.A.LL.B/ B.Com.LL.B, or any other qualifying equivalent to it, are also eligible for admission to the program. While calculating merit, marks obtained in Graduation only will be considered. Must include relaxation of 5% marks for SC/BC candidates. An applicant with less than 45% marks belonging to these categories is not eligible.

Bachelors in Engineering or Technology specializing in science and mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification which is equal to it are eligible for admission to the program. On the other hand, marks received at Graduation only will be considered during the calculation of merit. Must be a relaxation of 5% marks in aid of SC/BC candidates. Candidate with fewer than 50% marks that belong to such categories is not eligible.

Reservation

Candidates with less than 50% or fewer marks would not be eligible.

There shall be a relaxation of 5 % marks in favour of SC/BC candidates. Candidates with less than 45% marks belonging to these categories shall not be eligible.

The reservation in seats and relaxation in the qualifying marks in favour of the reserved categories shall be as per the Govt. of Punjab rules.

Provided that such minimum qualifying marks shall not automatically allow a contender to get admission in an institution but only entitle the candidate concerned to fulfil other institutional criteria alerted by the institution concerned or via the Government concerned from time to time to relate to admission. Online admission will be offered to only nominees who will qualify for the Common Entrance Test and offer choices for colleges together with the subject combination.
