CUSAT CAT Answer KeyCUSAT CAT Exam will be conducted on 18th – 19th April 2020 by Cochin University of Science and Technology. CUSAT CAT full form is Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test.

This Exam is held to give Admission in UG & PG Courses. Which Student want to take Admission in Affiliated UG & PG Courses then they have to give this exam.

CAT is carried out for admission to B.Tech, MSc (Photonics, Informatics, and Marine), BBA LL.B., B.Com LL.B., the MA, MIP-PhD, LLM-PhD, MCA / MCA (Lateral Input), LLB, MVoc, MFSc, etc.

CUSAT 2020 Eligibility

Essential eligibility requirements needed to be met by the aspiring candidates to be considered eligible for CUSAT CAT 2020-21.

No. of Credits: The total number of credits for the core courses shall not exceed 60 for MA/M.Sc,80 for MCA/MBA (FT) & (PT), and shall not be less than 48 for MA/M.Sc,72 for MCA and for MBA (FT & PT).

Attendance: A minimum of 75% attendance is compulsory. But the Vice-Chancellor shall have the power to condone shortage of attendance up to 10% on medical grounds on the recommendations of the Head of Department. However such condonation for a shortage of attendance shall be given only once during the entire program of study.

  • Candidates belong to Kerala SC (KSC) and Kerala ST (KST) communities are eligible for applying.
  • SEBC candidates of Kerala State who are certified as belonging to non-creamy layer are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for qualifying examination.

For UG Courses

  • Qualifying Exam: For all UG programs, the candidate should have completed their 12th from a recognized board.
  • Minimum Marks: For UG Programmes (except Marine Engineering), SEBC candidates belong to the Non-Creamy Layer of Kerala State have to obtain 45% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry Mathematics) taken together.
  • B.Com LLB/BBA LLB: 10+2 examination should be passed with 60% marks (for science group) and 55% marks (for Arts/Commerce/Humanities group).
  • Age Limit: 20 years as on 1st July 2020 (22 years for SC/ST and OBC candidates).
  • LLB: Graduation in any stream from a University recognized from CUSAT by securing 40% aggregate marks (35% for SC/ST).
  • Appearing candidates may also apply.
  • B.Tech with Integrated M.sc: The candidate must have passed the 10+2 with at least 50% marks in Mathematics alone and 50% marks in PCM combined from Kerala state or recognized board.
  • B.Tech Marine Engineering: The applicant must have qualified 10+2 examination with at least 60% of marks combined in English and PCM, and with a minimum of 50% of marks separately in Mathematics.

  • MCA: Science graduate with Mathematics as one of the subjects or graduate in Electronics/Information Technology/Computer Science/Computer Applications/ Engineering/Technology with 55% aggregate marks (except language & humanities).
  • LL.M.: Bachelor’s degree in law with a minimum of 45% marks.
  • M.Tech Course: Candidates those applying on the basis of GATE score card can avail the 5% relaxation in the qualifying examination marks.
