The Goa Common Entrance Test, overseen by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) in Goa, is a gateway for higher secondary graduates aspiring to secure admission to various undergraduate programs. These programs encompass a wide spectrum, including engineering, architecture, medicine, and other allied courses offered by prestigious colleges and institutes across Goa.

This annual state-level entrance examination enables students to seek admission to esteemed educational institutions within Goa. It is important to note that aspirants aiming for admission into the MBBS course are required to achieve commendable scores in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET).

The GCET is a significant avenue for students pursuing diverse undergraduate courses while NEET remains pivotal for those aspiring for MBBS admission. This exam is conducted once a year, which is a state-level entrance exam. The students who want to get admittance in the MBBS course need to attain good marks in NEET.

GCET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Contenders who want to appear in GCET must be entitled to the terms and conditions set by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa.

Nationality Conditions

• Contenders must be a resident of India.
• Non-resident Indians (NRI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are also allowed to apply for the Goa Common Entrance Test.

Age Criteria

If you are involved in admission to Engineering, Pharmacy, and Architecture programmes, then there will be no age limitation for you. For contenders opting for Dentistry, Medicine, Homoeopathy, Nursing, and Allied Health Sciences, their age would be at least 17 years as of the last week of December 2024 of the year of admission.

Educational Qualification

For Medical, Dental, AHS and Homeopathy Programmes

• For performing in these programmes, contenders would have cleared class 12th or its correspondent test with Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and
• General category contenders are needed to attain a minimum of 50% marks in the PCB group (45% for PH and 40% for OBC/SC/ST).
