The degrees granted by the Institute under the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act are recognized medical qualifications for the purpose of the Indian Medical Council Act and notwithstanding anything contained therein, are deemed to be included in the first schedule of that Act, entitling the holders to the same privileges as those attached to the equivalent awards from the recognized Universities of India.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha, Yojana 6 new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences have been established similar to AIIMS, New Delhi. The government of India had decided that from Academic Session August 2013, B.Sc. (Hons) The nursing course will be started in six new AIIMS at Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur, and Rishikesh. The proposal is for an intake of 60 students for each of the institutions for B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing Course.

The Ministry after deliberation took the view that selection for admission should be done through the same entrance examination through which candidates are selected for AIIMS New Delhi. The counseling and admission of six new AIIMS will be done by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Any dispute in regard to counseling and admission to six new AIIMS will be dealt with by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Nirman Bhavan, New Delhi.

  • Click on “Online Registration of AIIMS Nursing” link.
  • The Registration page will open.

Register Online:

  • Log on to the website for online registration.
  • Now, fill up the all the personal, communication, qualification and other required details.
  • After that, submit the registration details.

Fee Payment:

  • Candidates have to fill all the required details asked for the submission of application fee.
  • Select the fee payment mode.
  • Pay the application fee through online mode by debit/credit card or net banking.

Guidelines for Scanning Photograph, Signature, and Left Thumb Impression

Photographs obtained through following modes are acceptable:

  • Through digital camera/webcam.
  • By scanning a physical photograph

Guidelines for Scanning Photograph Image

  • The photograph must be a passport size colour photograph without border and clearly showing the face.
  • The photograph must be a recently clicked or should not be more than 6 months old. The dimension of the photograph must be 3.5*4.5 cm (width*height).
  • The photograph must be clicked in color with white background only.
  • Draw a box of 3.5*4.5 cm (width*height) on the A4 white paper sheet and paste the photo in the box.
  • Scan the box with photograph pasted in it, not the whole paper sheet. Save the image as .jpg/.jpeg/.gif/.png image image
  • The size of the image should be between 50-100 kb. Size of the image can be checked by right click on the image and then go to “Properties” link.
  • If the size of the image is more than 100 kb, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as set the dpi of the scanner to 200 dpi and quality of image at low. Check for the following before uploading the photograph File:

  • The photograph should be colour with white background.
  • Size of the image should be between 50-100 kb
  • Scanner dpi should be 200 dpi.
  • The image should be in .jpg/.jpeg/.gif/.png format.

Guidelines for Scanning Signature

1. Draw a box of 6*3 cm (width*height) on a white paper sheet.
2. Take a thick tip black/blue ink pen (preferably fountain pen).
3. The applicant has to put his/her signature in full in the box drawn.
4. Following king of signatures are NOT acceptable:

  • The signature containing Initials only
  • Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS
  • Signature with overwriting

5. The signature must be signed by the applicant, not by any other person. The signature should be done in the center of the box.
6. Scan the box with signature only, not the whole sheet. Save the signature as the .jpg/.jpeg/.gif/.png image.
7. The size of the image should be between 10-50 kb. Size of the image can be checked by right click on the image and then go to “Properties” link.
8. If the size of the image is more than 50 kb, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as set the dpi of the scanner to 200 dpi and quality of image at low. Check for the following before uploading the Signature File:

  • The signature should be clear and without overwriting on a white paper sheet within a box of 6*3 cms (width*height).
  • Size of the image should be between 10-50 kb
  • Scanner dpi should be 200 dpi.
  • The image should be in .jpg/.jpeg/.gif/.png format.

Guidelines for Scanning Left Thumb Impression

1. Draw a box of 4*3 cm (width*height) on a white paper sheet.
2. Put your left thumb on a blue/black ink pad. Ink should have covered your entire thumb.
3. Put your left thumb print in the box drawn on the paper sheet. Do not press thumb too hard.
4. Thumbprint should be clear such that the lines of thumb can be clearly seen by naked eyes.
5. Scan the box with thumbprint only, not the whole sheet. Save the thump print as.jpg/.jpeg/.gif/.png image.
6. The size of the image should be between 10-50 kb. Size of the image can be checked by right click on the image and then go to “Properties” link.
7.  If the size of the image is more than 50 kb, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as set the dpi of the scanner to 200 dpi and quality of image at low. Check for the following before uploading the Left Thumb Impression File:

  • Thumb Print should be in blue/black ink, clear, complete and put on a white paper sheet within a box of 4*3 cms (width*height).
  • Size of the image should be between 10-50 kb
  • Scanner dpi should be 200 dpi.
  • The image should be in .jpg/.jpeg/.gif/.png format.

  • Right, click on the image to be uploaded, go to link “Properties”.
