The Indian Council of Medical Research is an organization which offers the awards to young scientists with the Junior Research Fellowships to help them to carry out in a successful research in the field of Biomedical Sciences and Social Sciences at Medical Colleges, Biomedical Research Institutes and Universities in India where other facilities and adequate laboratories are ready to provide the research to a great extent.

The candidates must send the application to the Head of the Institute, and they are guided to conduct the research activities. The employed candidates have to submit the certificate which they can get from his/her employer who has accepted the Fellowship.

The subjects which are in the syllabus for the Junior Research Fellowship of ICMR are:

  • Social Science: Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Statistics, Home Sciences, Social Work, Environmental Science, etc.
  • Life Sciences: Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Physiology, Genetics, Human Biology, Human Nutrition, and Immunology.

Eligibility for ICMR JRF 2019

  • The candidates must have the degree of Postgraduate in life sciences/social sciences stream or equivalent examination and must have a valid certificate.
  • The maximum age limit should not be more than 28 years but the relaxation of 5 years is given to the SC/ST/OBC candidates.
  • The candidate should have the Indian citizenship.

Application Fees for the ICMR JRF 2019

The candidates should have to pay the amount of rupees 200 through Demand Draft which is drawn in favor of the Deputy Director which is payable at Delhi.

The candidates who are belonging to the SC/ST and Physically Challenged are exempted by the fees paid. The traveling charges will be reimbursed to SC/ST candidates on production of the tickets but not for the people who are coming from the shortest distance or nearby places of the examination hall.
